Race 1

EL RAES GIRL (10) was very good in her comeback run and she has strings to her bow, has an abundance of high speed to help her get out of trouble from the draw here and she showed tremendous toughness on return, very hard to beat. CINCH (9) is improving, and this is a better grade to see her best. DROP THE ACE (5) has the speed to cross and looks to run a good race again. DU SAVON (6) creates interest with a stable with a strong winning strike rate. SHERICKA (1), SPOT ON MOLLY (2), STRELITZIA MISS (3) and THE SLIPPERY DIP (4) can run into the back end of the top 4.

Suggested Bet: EL RAES GIRL (10) to win.

Race 2

Open race. DONTWAKEMEUP (4) returns and has trialled up for this, has shown enough promise to suggest a solid return but could be short enough given the stable she is with. ZIGGY VERMEER (3) has been relatively luckless and think the horse is racing well enough to play a part in this. PACIFIC EAGLE (5) will find this harder not being able to lead. SATAN PRINCESS (2) racing well but lacks early speed. FIREBALL FRIDAY (7) has come back well and this is no harder, just needs some luck. LUKES MISTAKE (8) comes in fresh, and his best is good enough. JOLTED CHARM (9) and SHEHADI (10) both not at their best.

Suggested Bet: ZIGGY VERMEER (3) each way.

Race 3

HOT CINDER (3) won well from the breeze last time out but steps up in trip and that is a slight concern for me although I do think she will probably lead again. DISPATCHER (2) has the perfect draw, should lead early and get the last crack at them, has been consistent. AMERICAN MONARCH (10) will be running on well and expect her to improve with a run under her belt. BONSTAR (1) lacks early speed which hurts her. ROCKNROLL TRAIN (7) is a novelty chance and stablemate VELVET SHADOW (5) is racing well but the draw is incredibly awkward for him.

Tips: 3 2 10 7

Suggested Bet: DISPATCHER (2) each way.

Race 4

RISING SPIRIT (2) is racing well and has been unlucky as of late, has the speed to lead and has options, should run well here. BEYOND BLING (10) comes in fresh and will be running home strongly but may need the run. STRAUNY (6) likely to try and bully his way around this grade suits him better. FRANCO MECCA (9) will be getting home well, hit the line well last time out and this represents a drop in grade. BELLA RAGAZZA (7) caught the eye last run but looks tricky from a map perspective. VINTAGE BLU (8) is improving and should close off well. GEE SMITH (5) capable but do prefer him from the tapes.

Suggested Bet: RISING SPIRIT (2) each way.

Race 5

PUSHBUTTON ROCK (10) has been racing well in strong metro grade mare’s events; she is predominantly a sit kick type so that could make it a frustrating watch but think there will a genuine tempo and expect her to power home. MISS STEFANI (4) is improving and can be driven positively in this. GET THE BOOTH (6) has picked up some of her better form in recent runs and expecting her to carry on with that but may have to do work again. LOCH TAY (9) will be powering home from the back of the field. DIAMOND WORLD (8) racing well and won’t be far away and HEARTOFAHLIA (5) is capable but has been mixing her form.

Tips: 10 4 9 6

Suggested Bet: PUSHBUTTON ROCK (10) each way.

Race 6

AMERICAN CRUISE (9) has caught the eye with recent runs and although he’s not a big worker in his races, he looks well placed to be featuring in the money, expect him to be favourite. ZLATO (6) has shown promise and think he will run a bold race at hopeful odds. TELKEM JAY (3) is racing consistently and has early speed, won’t be far away. MAJOR BLUE EYES (2) is a novelty chance, has some early speed. CHIEF COPY (9) is good enough to move into it strongly late.

Tips: 6 9 3 2

Suggested Bet: ZLATO (6) each way.

Race 7

DEL BOCAVISTA BAY (7) is on the quick backup, as are many from the Hayden Reeves stable but he looks best suited to the stand and think he will be very hard to beat here. MEGA MACH (4) has good speed early and can work his way to the top but do prefer him at a shorter trip. RICHIE REACTOR (6) is getting better and fitter, should run a bold race under stand conditions. SIR BELVEDERE (3) and GOODONYA MATE (8) are both capable with the right positioning. RECOVER LOVER (5) is a short course horse and prefer to watch her here. TEMPT THE STARS (9) hard to suggest from the handicap.

Suggested Bet: DEL BOCAVISTA BAY (7) to win.

Race 8

Nice field with the top two talented with a few quirks. RUMBLE STRIP (5) returns with the draw advantage and looks hard to beat if he can hold that advantage. ITS MAA TIME (6) is very talented, but she also returns from the draw disadvantage, will be an interesting battle. CAPTAINS CREEK (3) comes in fresh and can charge across and potentially lead, has options from there. The Peter Anderson trio fight for the top 4 spot with INTO THE FUTURE (7) most likely to fill that.

Suggested Bet: RUMBLE STRIP/ITS MAA TIME to quinella.
