Matt Young’s Friday Northam Preview Posted on September 5, 2025September 5, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 FILLMYPOCKET (8) finds a suitable race and can watch things unfold in the early stages, has the depth to be put into the race at any point and be very hard to beat here. BLITZAR (6) is ready to win, just been naughty on his approach to the gate in his recent runs but for the most part is a decent beginner and looks the danger. LUNAR MISS (1) has improved in recent runs and has the speed to lead early. WESMEDAD (2) wasn’t a bad effort last run and is a first 4 player with DO IT MY WAY (3) and POPPYS LAST DANCE (4). Tips: 8 6 1 2 Suggested Bet: FILLMYPOCKET (8) to win. Race 2 TUX AND TAILS (6) was eye catching last run and normally performs well at this track, can do work in his races and off his last run I expect him to go very close. RICHIE REACTOR (4) comes in fresh but if he was able to find the top, I’d expect him to run a bold race. GOODONYA MATE (3) could have something to say about that, and his form has been sound. THEJEWELINHEREYE (1) might improve from the draw and class, keep safe. RISING SPIRIT (7) can do some work and going soundly and OUR MAJOR JACK (5) has ability, but draw is tricky. Tips: 6 4 1 3 Suggested Bet: TUX AND TAILS (6) to win. Race 3 Open race. STIRUP IRON JACK (8) did the work last time out and was only grabbed late, looks hard to beat with further improvement off the back of that run. LETS ROCK TONIGHT (10) was gutsy last time out but the capacity field concerns me about diving into the shorter quote in this. SPORT CENTRAL (1) has the nice draw, looks to improve and could do that. STRAUNYS SISTER (3) not at her best, first up for the new stable and can do some work. BATAVIA STREAMLINE (4) can sometimes begin quickly and if she bounced to the top, she’d be hard to run down. ISAIDBOO (7) ideally drawn, will be running on. TIGER LOU (9) was better last run but faces a tricky draw like VELVET SHADOW (6). Tips: 8 4 7 3 Suggested Bet: STIRUP IRON JACK (8) to win. Race 4 HOT CINDER (1) has the speed to lead and as long as she doesn’t take harm from last Sunday’s run, I expect her to give them something to catch, problem for her is DISPATCHER (7) ideally drawn to her back and her closing speed is first class, looks a major player. BREWERY LANE (8) can win again, has options from the draw and will be running on well with KEPTAIN COURAGEOUS (9) who never runs a bad race but doesn’t stick his nose out too often. ALTA HURRAH (10) happy to forgive the last run and should perform better here, keep safe. MY ULTIMATE KEVVIE (5) and FOLLOW THE MUSIC (6) not at the top of their games and drawn awkwardly. Tips: 7 8 9 1 Suggested Bet: DISPATCHER (7) to win. Race 5 CINDYS SECRET (2) finds a suitable race, she looks the likely leader and can control and dash home, should go very close. LONESTAR WARRIOR (4) creates interest and is likely to head forward and may have to do some work, but the stable can produce one so keep safe. RIPPER VIEW (8) had every chance last time out but that was in a stronger race, she can come with one run and sometimes can be potent with her sprint. CHIEF COPY (7) has an awkward draw but is suited to this grade. MOOLAH MAGNET (6) was better last run but awkward draw to overcome and the same can be said for ELEPHANT ROCK (9). Tips: 2 8 7 4 Suggested Bet: CHIEF COPY (7) to place. Race 6 FUEGO CRUZADO (1) creates a lot of interest and has the draw and speed to run a good race; market moves could tell a tale here but ticks a lot of boxes for this race. GOGGINS (5) is a horse I expect to do well with Lang Inwood, he drops in grade but may need the run, one to follow going forward. ELEGANT EAGLE (10) has all the confidence and think he will be charging home from the back but a lot of traffic to overcome here. STARLIGHT SONG (6) can be an improver and has an abundance of early speed to put him in the mix early. ROCKNROLL JEWEL (2) happy to watch after first up run and SAVE THIS DANCE (9) is a novelty chance. Tips: 1 5 10 6 Suggested Bet: FUEGO CRUZADO (1) to win. Race 7 TOMMY PRICE (4) is a versatile type and think with his early speed he could nearly cross these, if he hits the peg line, I think he will win but still think he’s a winning chance if he doesn’t lead. SHES A MARE (1) is a much better horse with a sit, she has come up short and that’s a concern if they burn her off the arm, she can’t burn the candle at both ends on recent form. BRULEE (2) is improving nicely in the preparation and will be close enough, danger. VINTAGE BLU (5) is racing well and looks a decent each way player in the small field. AMERICAN MONARCH (3) flies under the radar and won’t be far away. ADMIRAL DARCY (7) was decent last run but looks tricky for him. Tips: 4 5 2 1 Suggested Bet: TOMMY PRICE (4) to win. Market Market
