Matt Young’s Saturday Bunbury Preview Posted on September 5, 2025September 5, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 BEAUDIENE HUNTER (5) comes into this with a decent record and looks to create a lot of interest, watch the moves in the market but should go well. PIPERS PARADE (1) was decent when working into the clear last start behind a highly talented Bettathanlife, she should run well from the draw. VILLAGE DEE JAY (3) comes in fresh but should run a decent race, especially if he was able to find the top. LITTLE MISS MOLLY (10) is racing well but this is harder from the draw. MISS VINCENZA (4) can bounce back in this grade, keep safe along with BOOM IT UP (8) and IT IS CRUNCH TIME (11). Open race. Tips: 5 1 10 3 Suggested Bet: PIPERS PARADE (1) each way. Race 2 JILL MACH (5) is ready to win, she is better performed in the standing starts but has been held up 3 of her last 4 with plenty to give and to be fair, never really got a full crack at them when placed a few starts ago, she is versatile but lacks a bit of early speed, they’ll know she’s in this. SUNSHINE SWIFT (10) is racing well but will need to overcome a tricky draw, she has plenty of high speed. MALAKIE (11) returns and goes well for the Jemma Hayman stable; trial was solid and expect her to perform well here, just a query on her race fitness. FOLLOW MY STRIDE (1), SOUNDS LIKE FUN (2), HONOUR THE EAGLE (4), and SUNDANCER RAINBOW (6) are all novelty chances. Tips: 5 10 11 4 Suggested Bet: JILL MACH (5) to win. Race 3 SWEET SASSYMOLASSY (6) finds a suitable grade and looks hard to hold out here, a lot of conjecture over who lead and how the race will be run but this mare has the depth to overcome a few obstacles and go close. OURFIRSTIMPRESSION (11) is ready to win but the draw is awkward for him. GO HOME JO (1) lacks early dash so her positioning is questionable, will run on. HES THUNDER (8) is at the mercy of the pole marker but suited this grade. HOTFOOT IT (10) and MAJOR BUZZ (9) both running on. Tough one to work out. Tips: 6 11 10 8 Suggested Bet: SWEET SASSYMOLASSY (6) each way. Race 4 ME FLASH (7) is a major player in terms of bouncing back in this, he can head forward at the start and if he was able to find the top I think he would go very close. SMOKEYS SHADOW (9) looks an improver and will be hitting the line strongly with JOEY JAMES (11) and MACHANE SAID (12) but all of them need a touch of luck from their respective draws. GOTA GOOD WARHOL (3) is back in his better form, has had no luck and looks a novelty chance. BURGHLEY SHARD (5) could be driven forward in this and be an improver, he has been mixing form since returning. YOUR GRACE (6) will be running on well. Tips: 7 12 11 9 Suggested Bet: ME FLASH (7) to win. Race 5 BETTOR MOVE ALONG (10) was horribly unlucky last time out and looked to have plenty to offer, previous run was good, and he has strings to his bow, think he’ll go very close in this. HEEZ A VIBE (7) will be charging across at the start, becomes the one to beat if he can cross but there is plenty of speed underneath him. MAJIC BAY (6) is ready to win but needs some luck from the draw, he is racing well. SHEZA BROMAC (1) needs to lift off her last run but has the speed to lead early, likely to be challenged by TUBBS FARQUHAR (2) and ALWAYSBFRANK (3) both of which are ready to run good races. LOUIE LEBEAU (12) has a lot of traffic to move around and looks tougher for him. AUCKLAND JET (11) will be running on but can mix his form. Tips: 10 7 6 12 Suggested Bet: BETTOR MOVE ALONG (10) to win. Race 6 Cracking race upcoming, think there will be plenty of speed on in the event as THOMSON BAY (1) is a brilliant front runner and expect them to drive him aggressively here, he should run a big mile but there could be a lot of pressure. BLAZING REACTOR (11) comes in fresh but has a withering turn of foot and if the tempo suits, it’ll be right up his ally. BLUE BLAZER (2) has early speed but looks more of a place chance, might be able to get to the peg line in behind the leader. CANDY APPLE (8) will be doing her best to hold that spot, she’s a winning chance if she can hold the position. ONESMARTFELLA (3) can mix his form but looks to be close enough to the speed. BEAT THE BANK (4) on the 24-hour backup, capable but tricky draw. COLD HARD CASH (5) has come back well, likely to head forward at the start and won’t be too far away along with HEAVENLY WAGE (6) who is back to his favourite distance. FOLLOW ROCKNROLL (7) needs the tempo on from the draw but has come back well. HI SUGA RUSH (9) capable of better, must be respected at each way odds. Tips: 11 1 6 5 Suggested Bet: THOMSON BAY (1) each way. Race 7 JACK MANNIX (6) went rough at a vital point last time out and almost certainly cost him the victory, has the draw advantage over one of his main rivals and looks a solid chance to get into the money again here, hard to beat. ALTA KING (7) probably the safer of the two considering he does everything right and has the depth to win from anywhere. TELKEM JAY (8) needs some luck from the draw but will be running on strongly with even luck. DEKLA DIVA (11) can run on from the back markers. DAWSON SHARD (5) might be driven forward, and form has been sound. MAJOR BLUE EYES (3) could head forward looking to lead, novelty chance in this. Tips: 6 7 8 3 Suggested Bet: JACK MANNIX (6) each way. Market Market
