Matt Young’s Friday Bunbury Preview Posted on November 6, 2025November 6, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 AMERICAN MAJOR (5) returns and finds a suitable race, he looked a bit hit and miss last time in but also raced some of the better types, with a break and a full preparation leading in I think we will see him provide more consistency and be hard to beat tonight. ULTIMATE EVENT (4) has come back well, looks suited and has the draw advantage, should be further improved. FILLMYPOCKET (11) has bounced back into form and will be running home strongly again. Novelty chances to MACHTAYLOR (2), BUT JOE (7) and THE KHUKRI (9). Tips: 5 4 11 7 Suggested Bet: AMERICAN MAJOR (5) to win. Race 2 OH MIKI (4) has shown some promise but is also likely to open very short here, looks a likely improver this preparation and is going to be hard to beat. STAR OF THE GALAXY (8) has had two runs for Dean Miller and performed well, likely be three back the pegs here and looks a strong place chance and BROOKVALEGIRL (10) now under the care of Dean also will run a good race and wouldn’t surprise to see her run a big race. CAPPY THE FIREY (1) is a place to novelty chance from the good draw and JACK MANNIX (11) is capable, but this looks a race where you may not want to be off the pegs in. Tips: 4 8 10 1 Suggested Bet: STAR OF THE GALAXY (8) to place. Race 3 RAMBO RABBIT (3) looks the leader here and that is where he does his best racing, looks hard to run down but he can mix his form so wouldn’t want to be taking too short of odds about him. THE WHIZZER (1) lacks overall brilliance early but is consistent and should be in the money. EASTON QUALITY (5) is racing well and has started to hit her straps, map could be a bit of a query, but she won’t be far away. METEOROID (8) and SWEET SASSYMOLASSY (9) have been consistent with the latter possessing a good closing turn of speed. Tips: 3 1 5 9 Suggested Bet: THE WHIZZER (1) each way. Race 4 LIGHTFOOT LEIGH (4) looks well placed here, he has good early speed, and this grade looks to suit perfectly, has been brave as of late and looks hard to beat. SWITCH BLADE (7) can improve even from the draw, likely heads forward and should be close to the speed. I SEE FIRE (9) comes in fresh but had been racing well. THE RIGTHEOUS (8) is in top form and has the soft draw but just needs luck at the right time. THEYCALL ME STOOGE (6) not as well suited with the capacity field; he will have to go back and rely on tempo which there looks to be a lack of in the middle stages. SOUNDS LIKE FUN (1) needs to lift but has the draw to be considered in your novelties along with ISLAND TEE REX (3) and MY GRAND ANGUS (10). Tips: 4 7 8 9 Suggested Bet: LIGHTFOOT LEIGH (4) to win. Race 5 Good contest here, going for one at hopeful value in VILLAGE DEE JAY (3) who has good early speed and is a good mile type, could find his way to the top and I think he could give them something to catch. BULL SHARK BETTY (4) is one of few to break the spirit of Aiden De Campo and has returned home to Chris Beckett who clicks well with the talented filly, she can bounce back in this grade. IT IS CRUNCH TIME (5) looks one of the major players and in this grade, he could be an aggressor. OFFICIAL ROCK (1) is racing well and won’t be far off the pace and could be dangerous with chances to stable mates ROCKY MAGUIRE (8) and INTO THE FUTURE (11). Tips: 3 4 5 1 Suggested Bet: VILLAGE DEE JAY (3) each way. Race 6 Open race with horses trying to break back into their better form. IDEAL WHITBY (8) looks suited in the grade, although he will have to overcome the back row, on the plus side he will be by his lonesome so he can pick and choose what his next move is and with the smaller field I believe he can finish the best. ELEPHANT ROCK (5) has early speed and will no doubt be heading forward, his form is sound and must be respected. MAJOR BUZZ (2) and SWANBOURNE SPUNK (6) both look chances for Jeremy Thornton with the latter probably performing better currently but a harder draw to overcome. Tips: 8 5 6 2 Suggested Bet: IDEAL WHITBY (8) to win. Race 7 STRONG THE STRIKER (1) is a nice horse, but his last few race runs haven’t shown that, he has the good draw and will be fitter for the first up effort and has options with his racing style, looks hard to beat. NITE SNIPER (5) is a nice horse and draws the front row, he has plenty of gate speed and could look for the top and be hard to run down. STAYCATION (7) has upside and expecting a solid run in this lineup with STRANIERO DEL MARE (4) a top 4 player after breaking through last time out, can get into the money here. Tips: 1 5 7 4 Suggested Bet: STRONG THE STRIKER (1) to win. Market Market
