Harry Buchanan’s Saturday Greyhound Tips

CANNINGTON

Race 3 No. 4 Clifton Cruz and No. 8 Tsar Bell

The distance final where these dogs qualified at Mandurah. The 4 looks like he can stay. He was superb in his heat and will be on the speed throughout. A few of these might struggle at the end but this bloke gives indications he will see it out. The boy out in the 8 the one to beat. He’s the best and strongest stayer but will be giving these a start. If he’s close they are in trouble. Good race and should be interesting.

Race 5 No. 2 Hinto and No. 8 Rippin Tomahawk

The Anniversary cup. Same as last week, different draws. Amplified is an outstanding bitch and she is clearly the one to beat. The box is not ideal though and she carves in quickly at box rise. If she leads, she will win. The 2 is racing so well and he’s drawn to make this a race. Can land handy and be strong late. The 8 will get a freeway to the first turn and was a silly midweek price. There is a world he crosses and leads if the 7 dives into runners early and he will give a showing. Another super edition.

Race 7 No. 8 Ben Mayo

He’s ready this bloke and if his Vic form finally arrives then he will run some time. Showed last week a win is not far off. Handles the 8 and will be prominent throughout. Can reel off big splits. Clear run and he hits the podium.

Race 8 No. 2 Scout About and No. 1 Rockabye Bear

The 2 is under rated and gets his chance here. Will land handy and can get under 30 with a clear run. The 1 gets one last chance off the inside. Has super muster and if he steps will go fast to lead and that’s where he does his best work. EW for him.

Race 11 No. 3 Sensationalism

Run down late last week but will again look to lead here and be harder to catch this week. Can get to the middle where he likes it and get under 22 which gets the job done here.

THE MEADOWS

Race 2 No. 3 Serena Bale

She can get back but she has a powerful set of gears when wound up and gets a good map here. Will look for first turn runs and be hard to stop if she gets clear running. EW player.

Race 3 No. 4 Kai Bale

Not sure how many times I can keep going. His talent is undeniable and he reels off splits and a turn of foot that can catch anything on his day. Just seem to be clumsy around the first turn. If he stays away from the others and gets going, he won’t be stopped. Last chance.

Race 6 No. 8 Sheer Zany and No. 2 Smouldering Decay

Stayers final. The 8 is promising and can stay. She will settle in behind the early speed and can run home stoutly. She is ready here and a great EW play. Small spec on the 2 because it can also stay where a lot of these struggle at the end. If there is any trouble she will pick them off and can hit a place. The 8 is the main go.

Race 7 No. 1 Good Chat Wispy

Tremendous last week behind a potential megastar. Moves to his preferred draw where he has a lethal record and will go fast to give these plenty to catch. The only dog he doesn’t want in the rear view is Zippy. He can hold the rest.

Race 8 No. 4 Amron Dan and No. 7 Triumph

The group 1 Silver Chief. Sticking with our early plays. 2 and 3 look the ones and they win with clear running. The red is the key here. His 5.00 early will hold this field up if he steps. That can cause trouble and give the 4 and 7 a chance to take gaps and they are very strong in the run home. Some luck needed here but both can hit the placings and give a huge sight. Great race.

Race 9 No. 6 Wrangler Jane

The blowout  play of the night. She simply is not a $71 shot. Has hit the frame track and trip half the time form 8 starts and while she doesn’t win many, this isn’t the strongest 600 and she is worth a top two play. Runs home hard and small field gives her some chance here.

Race 11 No. 5 Aston Suzette

Coming off a sub 30 run then outclassed prior and gets grade relief here. Can step and go quick and only has to offset the box to win or at least hit the podium. Can go well tonight.

WENTWORTH PARK

Race 2 No. 1 Nelly Intention

The move to box 1 key here. Great run last week off the outside and will enjoy the better map this time and she keeps hitting the line from anywhere. Looks ready.

Race 6 No. 8 Showman Jack

What a run in the Silver Chief heat. Made sustained ground from midfield and was tremendous. Goes better here and will handle the draw and if he is wound up again, will take all sorts of stopping. He’s very good this bloke. Monster hope.

Race 11 No. 4 Punter’s Bandit

Arguably should have won the megastar. Was making sustained ground when badly held up turning on a track that doesn’t present gaps for fun. She kept coming and was closing on the line to just go under by 2 and change. Clear run is all that’s needed here and the map isn’t that bad off the 4. Big show.
