Trent’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on May 18, 2017 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: FLY LIKE AN EAGLE AT ALLWOOD STUD MS PACE OVERBOARD AGAIN (8) resumed from a spell with an impressive win over Shandale before facing the breeze and being run down late by Livura. He is drawn wide but should be very hard to beat. VULTAN TIN (9) beat Im Full Of Excuses before disappointing last week but will appreciate a massive drop in class. YOUR EXCUSED (1) won in 1.57.3 the last time that he led over this distance and gets his chance here. OUT BACK JOE (3) was a good last start winner but this is a rise in class. Tips: 8 9 1 3 Suggested Bet: OVERBOARD AGAIN (8) to win. Race 2: FOLLOW THE STARS TO THE APG WA SALE MS PACE HARRY HOO (1) has drawn poorly in all three runs back from a spell and has finished just behind the placegetters on each occasion. He has the pole tonight and is the one to beat. LIVURA (9) has been an impressive winner of his last two starts against stronger company and is capable of overcoming the widest barrier. STROGANOFF (2) couldn’t get clear when a close up 5th last week and shouldn’t be far away. BANDAR (10) was placed last week in easier company but can be placed again from this draw. Tips: 1 9 2 10 Suggested Bet: HARRY HOO (1) to win. Race 3: MILNE FEEDS MS PACE MCCLINCHIE (8) has won 8 of his past 15 starts and was far from disgraced when finishing 3rd to Johnny Disco after working hard to find the lead. He is drawn wide here but should still give a great sight. DRIVEN (3) has only been placed once in his last 15 starts but trialled nicely recently and could be an improver. TO INFINITYNBEYOND (1) is the likely leader and did record an all the way victory here four starts back. RABCHENKO (10) should get a nice run on the pegs and can be dangerous late. Tips: 8 3 1 10 Suggested Bet: DRIVEN (3) each way. Race 4: BUDGET STOCKFEEDS THE PURE STEEL QUALIFYING HEAT 3 ZACH MAGUIRE (12) has resumed from a spell with two strong wins in standing start events from back marks. He goes back to a mobile and is up in class but Gary Hall Jnr has elected to stick with him. MACH TIME (3) disappointed at his last five starts before a spell after showing considerable promise. He resumes without a trial but any betting move must be respected. DANA DUKE (4) has comfortably won his two Australian starts but is up in class here. JOHNNY DISCO (7) is up to the best in this race on ability but is drawn wide. Tips: 12 3 4 7 Suggested Bet: ZACH MAGUIRE (12) to win. Race 5: RAMSAYS HORSE TRANSPORT MS PACE EYRE CRUSHER (1) won his first two starts back from a long break and has battled bad barriers since. He ran a great 2nd to Shandale last start and will appreciate the pole draw tonight. FRANCO RAYNER (9) led from this barrier when an all the way winner last week and can repeat the dose if he can cross early. EL HOMBRE (10) goes up in class on his last start win but should enjoy a nice trip. SOHO WALL STREET (11) was mammoth in defeat here last week and shouldn’t be far away despite taking on tougher company. Tips: 1 9 10 11 Suggested Bet: EYRE CRUSHER (1) Race 6: LANDMARK MIDVALE MS PACE OHOKA PUNTER (7) has impressed in three runs for the Hall camp despite starting favourite on each occasion and only winning once. He looked to have the race in his keeping when gunned down on the line last start but can turn the tables tonight. HEEZ ON FIRE (6) produced a withering burst to catch OHOKA PUNTER (6) last start and is capable of repeating the dose. BEAUDIENE BOAZ (9) and RUN ONEOVER (8) both performed well in the Inters and are resuming from spells but have bad draws to overcome. Tips: 7 6 9 8 Suggested Bet: OHOKA PUNTER (7) to win. Race 7: WASBA BREEDERS STAKES MS PACE TRICKY STYX (2) competed in the last Inters and returns tonight after a Sydney campaign where she was a long way from her best. She has proven herself to probably be the best mare in WA and she is clearly the one to beat from the draw. SHEER ROCKNROLL (10) is flying and overcame the back mark to win the Races For Roses and will be in the finish with normal racing luck from this draw. FOXY DAME (3) is ultra-consistent and won’t be far away again. DODOLICIOUS (9) is classy and will be fitter for her first up run. Tips: 2 10 3 9 Suggested Bet: TRICKY STYX (2) to win. Race 8: LARKHILL VETS CONDITIONED HANDICAP SS PACEL NAUGHTY MARAVU (10) has performed extremely well at his last three starts without winning. He was a brave 2nd to Franco Rayner after sitting outside that pacer last week and should give a great sight again. WALTZING WITH CULLEN (12) was a consistent performer in this type of event last campaign and warmed up with a nice Pinjarra trial. OHOKA KENTUCKY (7) isn’t known as a standing start performer but must be considered on his 2nd to Galactic Star in stronger company here last week. ASASSINATOR (8) scored an upset win in the Easter Cup and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 10 12 7 8 Suggested Bet: NAUGHTY MARAVU (10) each way. Race 9: FRESH EXPRESS WESTBRED MS PACE STAR ARMBRO (1) was a good winner two starts back then held up at a crucial stage here last week and will be extremely hard to beat if he holds up at the start. LORD WILLOUGHBY (4) has been racing in considerably stronger company and is nicely drawn. DAVINCI DIAMOND (7) has won two of his last four and can play a part despite the barrier. EL SUNAMI (10) is drawn to get a lovely run on the pegs and is an each way chance. Tips: 1 4 7 10 Suggested Bet: STAR ARMBRO (1) to win. Race 10: VISION PRODUCE 3YO FILLIES MS PACE BETTER B CHEVRON (6) was a brave 5th in the WA Oaks after working early before losing no admirers when 2nd to Kerrin Joseph. She clearly has plenty of ability and will run a big race tonight. SHE COULD BE GOOD (4) has been unextended in winning her last two starts and is ready for the rise in class. SUSIES DESIRE (2) was a good 3rd at Narrogin at her last start and will give them something to catch if she leads. SOHO ANGEL (7) ran 4th in the WA Oaks before beating easier company and must be considered. Tips: 6 4 2 7 Suggested Bet: BETTER B CHEVRON (6) to win.
