Darren Clayton’s Albion Park Preview Posted on May 27, 2022May 27, 2022 | Posted by Darren Clayton Race 1 Sectionally superb in recent weeks, PELOSI (2) Hit the line in smart order two starts back to claim a 1m victory in mare’s company. Best of the rest behind the uber-impressive Manila Playboy last week where her splits were excellent, she can be handy to the action. THREE IN HEAVEN (1) chased behind Will The Wizard last start and from this alley has the hustle to hold up and if left alone can make them pay. BEAU CISHLOM (8) made a costly error last start and while this may be a little tougher than recent outings, the economical trip aids his chances. COURAGEOUS SAINT (12) grabbed 2nd behind The ideal Dancer last start and although he will be wide off the track at some stage, he can close out strongly. Selections: 2-1-8-12 Suggested Bet: PELOSI (2) to win Race 2 HEMSWORTH (10) had to halve the win last week after having an interrupted run to the wire and hitting the line locked with Air Time. Back to the mile, he has been slick when saved for one shot. GOOD AS IT GETS (1) did it the tough way last time and was still just a head from the winner after grafting it out. The improved gate plays right into his chances. OBI ONE (9) will be looking to follow through to be handy to the action and is never far away. FALCONS (6) lands a tricky gate but has been in the money in recent attempts, including the narrowest of 2nds two starts back. Selections: 10-1-9-6 Suggested Bet: HEMSWORTH (10) to win Race 3 ADAM CROCKER (5) is airborne with 4 wins in his past 5 starts. The front row is as quick a front line that could possibly be drawn into the same race and his form is hard to go past. UNCLE SHANK (4) was brave when narrowly beaten first up after working hard from gate 7 to spear out and lead. Atoning with an all the way win second up, he can fly the arm. WITH THE BAND (7) was charging home last start to get agonisingly close to Adam Crocker. The gate makes the task all the harder BOMBADIER JUJON (2) will be bolstered by his last stride victory here last week and can tuck in behind all the action. Selections: 5-4-7-2 Suggested Bet: ADAM CROCKER (5) to win Race 4 A capacity filed over the long 2647m trip, and the added intrigue of the standing start conditions make this an open contest. MACH SHARD (14) arrives in Qld for the McCarthy stable and cops the 20m back mark for this contest. Strong to the line last start at Menangle for 3rd, he has plenty of stand start experience. COLT THIRTY ONE (9) made a costly error at release last start but his effort to chase thereafter was large, highlighted with some slick sectionals. Just needs to negotiate the early traffic. L L COOL J (12) blew his chances as the strands released last start after being sent out in red figures. If he can step cleanly, this is the type of race for him. MISTERFREEZE (6) will go around at big odds but has been sectionally super in recent outings and has placed in both appearances from the tapes. Selections: 14-9-12-6 Suggested Bet: MACH SHARD (14) to win Race 5 JILLIBY KING FU (7) has not raced since January 2020 and is the sire of 30 foals on the ground in the interim. Now with the McCarthy stable, he has not been asked of much in his two trials, but this Chariots of Fire winner finds the ideal first up target. STREITKID (5) is the query, on the overnight back-up and from a stable not known for the rapid reappearance. Brilliant off the arm, he defeated Blacksadance four starts back. SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (1) is never far from the action and looks set enjoy an economical trip in behind the speed where he likes it. LOMBO HEAVEN (3) can be lit up off the arm and does his best work free-wheeling. Selections: 7-5-1-3 Suggested Bet: JILLIBY KING FU (7) Race 6 KASHED UP (6) has chased home Adam Crocker three times and Manila Playboy in his four runs back from a spell. Gate 7 was a hurdle too high last start and back to this opposition looks ideally suited. CALL ME KEITH (3) hit some traffic issues last start and never saw clear air when needed yet his closing splits were slippery, with the improved gate helping. HARPS (1) was returning from a spell last time from gate 5 and will be better suited drawn in tight. OUR BONDI BEACH (8) proved his penchant for the poles two starts back when landing the pesos up the passing lane and will be probing here. Selections: 6-3-1-8 Suggested Bet: KASHED UP (6) to win Race 7 DANGERZONE (3) grabbed 2nd behind Speak The Truth in the Breeders Classic last week, having his first appearance in seven weeks. He will take great benefit from the outing where his last 200m was particularly sharp. SPEAK THE TRUTH (4) had to do some early work in taking control last week, once dictating able to take them all the way of the 2138m event. Undefeated this season, he will need to be at his best. MR IBIZA (1) has the bright light question marks around his name, making his Aussie debut for the all-conquering McCarthy stable without a preparatory hit out. TEDDY DISCO (8) needed to do the tough stuff here last week and was game in defeat. He was a surprise trialler at Redcliffe on Wednesday in slick fashion and will have the second line options. Selections: 3-4-1-8 Suggested Bet: DANGERZONE (3) to win Race 8 MISDEMEANOR (1) should relish the opportunity to compete against her own sex after being collared in the last stride here last week by Bombadier Jujon. She gets every chance to dictate from this gate and Luke McCarthy has been handed the reins for this assignment. BONNIES A ROCKIN (2) had the closing speed to nail Talent To Spare after releasing in the early stages. In good form, she might just find the space to be leaders back once again. GIRL FROM OZ (6) has been to the trials since her last start APG 4YO victory and delivered a handy hit out but faces an ask from wide off the front line. WHICH HUNT (3) had been building towards a win after some smart efforts and delivered the victory two starts back and has the gate to feature. Selections: 1-2-6-3 Suggested Bet: MISDEMEANOR (1) to win Race 9 WATTS UP MAJESTIC (4) has proven costly since dominating in the Trotters Marathon with defeats in all three since. Rickie Alchin reunites with his talented trotter which might just be the tonic. VAN SANK (5) will be in search of 5 on the bounce after adding another win to the card last time when tackling the mobile 2138m. With speed out of the machine, he is a huge threat. SIR FAHRENHEIT (10) lines up for career start 100 and will be tightened from his last start when resuming for 3rd to Van Sank. GARLAND GREENE (6) was massive in defeat last start, making up a tonne of ground to grab 4th after a starting error. A return to mobile conditions helps. Selections: 4-5-10-6 Suggested Bet: WATTS UP MAJESTIC (4) to win Race 10 JENDEN STRIKE (2) has not been seen at the races since January and since the spell has returned to the Frisby stable. Catching the eye in a sharp trial in preparation for her return, she lands the gate to cash in fresh. BAKER CREEK (4) claimed victory here on Tuesday when releasing from gate 1 and then powering over the top in the stretch. It might just be a sticky draw with some pace inside. NOR WESTA (1) is 2 from 4 on this track and returns for the NSW visiting stable of Dean Chapple. The gate gives her the option of the economical trip. BEJIGGITY (5) is taking each step as it is presented, placed in both runs here at HQ, the latest behind Racy Roxy in the Breeders Classic. Selections: 2-4-1-5 Suggested Bet: JENDEN STRIKE (2) to win Race 11 HOLD ONTO YA BLING (5) was picking up ground in the closing stages here last week when grabbing 3rd behind Mullum Axel from this same gate. The barriers have opened this race right up. MULLUM AXEL (8) did it out in front here last week to claim the Breeders Classic. The second line makes it tougher but as the lone runner out the back will have options. REGAZZO DI TILLY (6) was a winner when taking them most of the way at Redcliffe and then had the tables turned on the three-day back-up. The gate makes it no easier. WISPER A SECRET (7) has placed in both his appearances and will require a slice of luck from the 7. Selections: 5-8-6-7 Suggested Bet: HOLD ONTO YA BLING (5) to win Market Market
