Darren Clayton’s Albion Park Preview Posted on November 5, 2021November 5, 2021 | Posted by Darren Clayton RACE 1 THE DEMOCRAT (1) lands the gate to punch through early and securing an economical trip will be ready to take the passing lane shot. Only a half-neck from Wahs Fire Bug last start, this looks ideal. STREITKID (4) has been given a let up since a tough run behind Deus Ex last start. Moving one spot closer to the poles with the early scratching helps and with his blazing gate speed can pounce on the lead. CHASING THE WIND (2) secured the ideal conditions last week and capitalised to take them all the way and make it 4 wins in his past 5. He should tuck in just behind the speed. KEY LARGO (5) will take a good look in the early stages with his slick moves out of the machine but might just have to do it the tough way. SELECTIONS: 1-4-2-5 SUGGESTED BET: THE DEMOCRAT (1) to win RACE 2 ROCK WITH SAM (4) will be second-up from a spell and finds the right type of race after missing a spot in the Be Good Johnny Sprint. Not suited first up when chasing, he had trialled sharply prior to resuming. CLINTAL DO (5) will take his place if not required in the main race. Hitting the line in nice order when returning from a spell last time out, a strong tempo will be in his favour. MAJOR FERNCO (1) tackled the 2138m last start when releasing the speed before chasing for 2nd to Mach Da Vinci. The return to the sprint trip is firmly in his favour and the gate is an added help. VIRGIL (9) can trail through in the early stages to find position and continues his solid form. SELECTIONS: 4-5-1-9 SUGGESTED BET: ROCK WITH SAM (4) to win RACE 3 BIG WHEELS (10) looks the class runner but is given no favours from this alley. First-up from a spell in this contest, he is yet to win over the 2138m which does ask a few questions that the class edge can answer. CHAMONIX (7) returns for his first outing since the Qld Derby where he was beaten by gate 10. Blowing the cobwebs out with a trial, he looks the danger in a race where the 2138m will sort a few out. DYNAMIC DAN (8) is yet another resuming and from inside the second line will require a slice of luck as he looks set to be buried in transit. TEE JAY CEE (5) is fit and in-form, bringing 3 wins in his past 4 outings. This might be a step up in class, but the race fitness appeals. SELECTIONS: 10-7-8-5 SUGGESTED BET: BIG WHEELS (10) to win RACE 4 SIR FAHRENHEIT (2) completed a hat-trick of victories last start with that win coming under similar conditions to what he will face here. A track record breaking win 3 starts back over the long trip, he has the gate speed and winning form needed for this battle. STRESS FACTOR (5) gave his supporters nothing to worry about at his first Brisbane appearance when stepping to the front and from there was never headed. Added fitness and the mobile start are an added plus. MAJESTIC SIMON (8) gets his opportunity to work back into some form with the economical trip from this gate. GEE UP NEDDY (9) held on for 3rd to Stress Factor last start after doing the hard work in transit. Positioning cheaply will aid the cause. SELECTIONS: 2-5-8-9 SUGGESTED BET: SIR FAHRENHEIT (2) to win RACE 5 SCARLET BABE (5) ran the hands off the clock last week after snagging back at release before making a solid charge over the closing stages to be 5m from Blacksadance. Third-up last time, she looks primed. WAHS FIRE BUG (2) landed another win last start to continue her superb streak this campaign. Game in defeat two starts back behind Rock Fisherman, she can fire the early shots. JERADAS DELIGHT (3) was unsuited last start with the run a forget effort. Chasing home behind Turn It Up two starts back, a return to her own sex helps. FAME ASSURED (8) will have the 2nd line options here. Luckless behind Northview Hustler last time, mares grade suits.SELECTIONS: 5-2-3-8 SUGGESTED BET: SCARLET BABE (5) to win RACE 6 MACH DA VINCI (11) spanked his opponents last week where despite the terrible conditions, the victory had the brushstrokes of a masterpiece. That made it three on end, all in differing patterns, but all brilliant in their own way. The versatility is a huge asset. TURN IT UP (4) has also put three on end, however his hat-trick have all been delivered from the front when allowed to dictate and rip home. He has the speed to lead, the expense is the question he needs to have the answers for. DEUS EX (9) also comes into this battle with his own threepeat of victories, making an immediate impression since arriving in the Sunshine State. This is a step up and a gauge of his potential. WILL THE WIZARD (2) shows the strength of the race, coming in fresh off the back of three power running miles where he has busted 1.52 in each on the front end. The early heat will be dialled up as he looks for the poles.SELECTIONS: 11-4-9-2 SUGGESTED BET: MACH DA VINCI (11) to win RACE 7 TEDDY DISCO (7) has the wide gate but brings the fitness edge which might just be what is required to capitalise. Sketchy out of the machine last start, he reset and still put away the older horses which followed a class record over 2040m at Redcliffe. AWAYWEGO (6) was put away following his G1 triumph back in July when claiming the Triad Final at just his fourth start. He looked sharp in a preparatory trial. MISTY CREEK (8) has put together a sequence of 5 successive wins at Redcliffe, defeating the older horses by leading throughout on each occasion, with a return to his own age looking a big help. RACY ROXY (2) will also be first-up since July where she chased gamely for 2nd to the star filly Cat King Cole. She has the hustle to be first to the poles. SELECTIONS: 7-6-8-2 SUGGESTED BET: TEDDY DISCO (7) to win RACE 8 UNCLE SHANK (2) was dominant in his heat win when blazing across from gate 7, leading and jogging home. The most impressive piece was how far the first-two across the line pulled clear of the chasers. Our weekly dose of #LeaderPeter doing his thing- this time in a $50k G2 Final. THE ROCKNROLL KING (9) may have been the slowest of the heat winners, but he did it the tough way, grinding it out while sitting parked. Better when saved for one run, he has won 4 of his past 6 and should land in an ideal position. THE GENERAL (1) charged home from deep in the pack to claim his heat with some style. Effective off speed, he maps for the perfect trip in behind the speed. MAJORCA (3) has been a revelation since leaving the land of the long white cloud to a climate more suiting her name. The only mare to make this Final, she is 5 from 5 at The Creek. SELECTIONS: 2-9-1-3 SUGGESTED BET: Flexi Trifecta 2 / 1-3-8-9 RACE 9 JASPER (9) and SHES MISS DEVINE (6) look to have a decisive edge over their rivals yet both fillies resume from a spell which is of some concern, both last seen in the Queensland Oaks. Taking a leaning to the Dixon trained filly Jasper who opened the pipes in a trial behind Deus Ex. Finishing strongly in the Oaks at her last start, the winner should come from one of the two. Preparing with just the one strong trial at Redcliffe, Shes Miss Devine will appreciate the early scratching and can look to stay ahead of her danger. CASH QUEEN (7) has the wide gate, but she might just have enough of an edge over the others. TYPHOON TORQUE (8) will need a slice of luck from this gate as she looks set to be hemmed away.SELECTIONS: 9-6-7-8 SUGGESTED BET: JASPER (9) to win RACE 10 HERBS HERO (8) has a super record here at The Creek, his latest offering when runner-up from a long way back behind Crazy Shippo. The map looks in his favour to take to the closing shot.GLENAEAGLE WARRIOR (1) had his chances ended by the wide gate last time. Back to the ace and with the speed to burrow through, he finds the right conditions to capitalise. LIFES BLACK (3) burned plenty of early fuel to find the front last time out which left him vulnerable late, yet he was strong to the line. THE HUMMER (4) claimed a 2nd division qualifier 2 starts back and was game to the line last start behind Le Tissier. Place claims appeal.SELECTIONS: 8-1-3-4 SUGGESTED BET: HERBS HERO (8) to win Market Market
