Chris Nelson’s Saturday Randwick Preview Posted on June 8, 2023June 8, 2023 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 1 Bjorn Baker produced OZZMOSIS on debut at Gosford & the Zoustar colt didn’t let anybody down racing away to score by 2 lengths. He’d won all 3 lead up trials prior & can measure up in this stronger affair. ROYAL TRIBUTE has also trialled well winning both hit outs, will be ridden on pace just needs things to pan out early from that wide draw. FLEETWOOD won fresh & will take improvement at only start number three. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet: OZZMOSIS TO WIN RACE 2 DIAMOND DIESEL continues to race very consistently around this grade & comes into this off a 3 week freshen up dropping back from 1400 to 1200m. His last start effort at Rosehill was terrific being posted 3 deep without cover, he looked spent in the straight before raising an effort late to beat all bar the winner. SOAMI will get back & run on as is his pattern, additional 100m in his favour. NOSEY PARKER rises in grade however you can’t knock winning form & he’s got plenty of that. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet: DIAMOND DIESEL EACH-WAY RACE 3 The consistent SUNGBLUE gets his chance to break through off a couple of good runs at this level here & Scone. He’ll carry no more weight & draws a good gate for Ash Morgan to land him in the box seat. CHASE MY CROWN has good numbers going into this, not convinced about the 1500m at this stage, won’t be far away though. ZOUATICA is lightly raced & has plenty of upside. Numbers: 9 – 14 – 17 – 1 Suggested Bet: SUNGBLUE EACH-WAY RACE 4 Plenty of weight for the returning KIBOU who is still clearly the horse to beat having beaten the likes of Osipenko & Golden Mile last prep. Fitness levels should be up to speed having won both lead up trials Gosford & Hawkesbury. PLUNDERING is consistent & comes up with a good draw whilst IOWNA MERC returned with a solid win, can only take improvement from that & the claim is a plus. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 2 – 10 Suggested Bet: KIBOU TO WIN RACE 5 Looks a fairly even race where I’m happy to have something each-way the lightly raced CENTRESTONE from the Waller yard. She’s a dry tracker who appreciated the solid speed first up at Doomben weaving her way through to score narrowly. She’ll appreciate the step up in trip & should be value. PESHMERGA can roll forward from the good draw, wouldn’t count her out up on the speed. PIN ME UP a likely improver. Numbers: 10 – 5 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet: CENTRESTONE EACH-WAY RACE 6 Feel the wide draw is the only factor likely to bring about the undoing of PASSEGGIATA who has won 2 of her 3 starts. She’s been tuned up for her return run with two barrier trials (900 & 737m) winning both by the same margin… 9 lengths! She only knows one speed & that’s ‘flat out’. Wouldn’t be surprised to see MISS DIOR show up fresh on dry ground off the back of a solid trial second. BOSS LADY ROCKS is very consistent, LADY BROOK surely improves off the first up effort. Numbers: 11 – 9 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 selections in exotics RACE 7 Confident DEMOCRACY MANIFEST can bounce back into winning form here. A first up winner he’s had valid excuses winding up out of the placings his past couple however stepping up to the mile he can get back to his winning ways. SUPER STRIKE hit the line well first up, 1600m suits nicely & he has a strong second up record. NIFFLER also second up races well & wasn’t far away fresh. Numbers: 9 – 10 – 11 – 6 Suggested Bet: DEMOCRACY MANIFEST EACH-WAY RACE 8 Looking for an each-way price for SPACEWALK here who is an 1100m specialist. Yes, the gate isn’t great however as we saw last start he can really motor late & his recent has been solid in stakes grade behind some smart types. Look for a cold ride & big finish! CONSCRIPT has come back in great order, draws well & should land a good run in transit. ZETHUS in the mix as is TYCOONIST who brings the class factor, may need this run though? Numbers: 12 – 5 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet: SPACEWALK EACH-WAY (small bet) RACE 9 Confident the Queensland visitor MANHOOD can run a strong race here. He’s a model of consistency up north, likes to settle on the speed & drops back in both weight & distance which are both positives. Yes’ this is a shade harder however I’ll take the punt he can measure up. PIZARRO wasn’t far away first up & can take further improvement. RUBAMOS should be getting close third-up whilst UCALLEDIT back in grade can show up. Numbers: 7 – 9 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet: MANHOOD TO WIN (small bet) RACE 10 BATTLETON has been a bit of an enigma & I’m not one of his biggest fans however at the price on offer I’m happy to have something on him each-way here. Absolutely nowhere to go in the straight at Rosehill last Saturday he went to the line untested, that doesn’t necessarily mean he would have cut loose when clear, I’ll take the punt there was something there though! CRAFTY EAGLE is stepping up in grade however has done nothing wrong with plenty of upside. Look out for VIENNA PRINCESS late. Numbers: 1 – 10 – 15 – 6 Suggested Bet: BATTLETON EACH-WAY (small bet) Market Market
