RACE 2 No.2 True Crime

Solid looking Benchmark 72 for the 3yo’s however I’m confident this Kim Waugh trained gelding can make it 3 wins from only 4 starts. His only defeat was two back at the hands of the smart Midnight In Tokyo and his last start victory was terrific on a bottomless heavy (10) surface, that race was the only event run on the day with the meeting quickly abandoned due to the surface plus the horrendous conditions. The effort would have taken plenty out of him suggesting the 3 weeks between runs is ideal.

RACE 4 No.5 Katalin

First up specialist from the Godolphin stable who resumes on Saturday. She’s had the benefit of a couple of recent lead up trials and gets the services of James McDonald which is another strong pointer to her making it 3 from 3 fresh and keeping that unbeaten record intact. Only lightly raced she placed in Listed grade before spelling and providing the track doesn’t see a lot of rain she’s the one to beat.

RACE 5 No.5 Frumos

Unbeaten 5yo mare from the Waller yard who is turning out to be the find of what’s been a dismal winter down south. She’s shown a terrific turn of foot at each win sitting out the back before zooming up to catch her rivals with ease before clearing out in the run to the line. If we can secure black figures about her on Saturday that’s actually value!
