Chris Nelson’s Eagle Farm Best Bets Posted on January 17, 2020 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Best Bets RACE 7 No.1 Master Jamie Rockhampton trained 3yo who has an outstanding overall record of 12 starts for 9 wins. I have no doubt he’s up to city grade even accounting for his failure at Doomben two starts back. That was in a stakes race and he worked way too hard in the run. He’s been back home winning his past couple against older horses in Open Handicaps. Expecting a big run. RACE 8 No.7 Sofie’s Gold Class Good thing beaten here last start being chopped out late when making ground along the fence. With clear running she would have arguably won the race however had to settle for a 3rd placed finish. The 3 weeks between runs should suit as she will ultimately looking for further however being only third up tomorrow she’ll be sharp enough to go very close. RACE 9 No.12 Pennino Sunshine Coast mare who is knocking on the door and this looks to be a great chance for her to break through for her first win this prep. She ran good races behind the class performers Chapter And Verse and Vega One before closing late however running out of ground here 3 weeks ago when a narrow 3rd behind Jami Lady. She can go a couple better this time. Quaddie 1, 5, 7, 9, 16 1, 8, 9, 11 4, 6, 7 12, 17 Market Market
