Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on July 10, 2018July 11, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 CONVICTED MAN went into his debut run off a couple of handy enough trials. Went round at a huge price and made steady ground in a race where most were beaten a long way from home. At a price we’ll give him another chance. CHASING THE ACE comes from that same race, was impressive and has never run a bad race in her career. HYPERSPACE is on debut and looked above average at trials. PRATTLE has been back to trials after disapponting. Could be a sharp improver. NUMBERS: 2 – 9 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet: Convicted Man Place Race 2 WITHOUT REASON again takes on the older horses. Looks a massive type who will take a fair bit of maturing to hit his peak. Kept coming last start and ran into one who might be handy. SCINTILLATING has run some races in his career which suggest he will be winning races. This is a much more suitable race than his most recent. FLAT BICCY should get the softest of runs from the gate. FINANCIAL SUPPORT was beaten by the gate last start and improve lengths from drawing 3. Numbers: 13 – 1 – 5 – 4 Race 3 COUNTESS NATASHA transfers from the Dion Luciani stable to his father Lou and has always promised to win a maiden. Draw is soft and should get the run she needs. AKVAVIT looked home for all money last start but was zapped on the line. Ultra consistent but seems to run into one better every time. TYCOON MAKIADO was on debut in a race where the leaders and rails horses dominated. Forgive that effort, should be right in this. DEl SUR resumes off a long break but showed potential and interestingly Jason Whiting elects to ride. Numbers: 10 – 11 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – Countess natasha win Race 4 YINDI ran some big races in his first campaign. Drawn woefully but trialed well enough and if they’re swooping three deep with cover the draw may be a blessing in disguise. IN THE MOSH PITT is also listed to be ridden by Shaun O’Donnell in early form publications. Ran a much better race than reads on paper on debut and keep in mind at odds. MYSTERY AFFAIR hit the line extremely well first up. Only concern is that all place getters were against the rails at some stage. SCANDALOUS MISS was most impressive at her latest trial. Numbers: 1 – 13 – 8 – 16 Suggested Bet – Yindi Eachway Race 5 RAISE A SMILE has been down the Pinjarra straight at her entire career so round a corner is potentially a minor query. Race form however is strong and was crunched last start. CLASSIC CHANT is speedy and will find this a world easier than open 3 year old company. REQUISITION is drawn to sit midfield and enjoy a soft rails run. CITICHANT looks to be best suited when allowed to burn in front. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – Raise a Smile Win Race 6 GINGERELLA ran into the talented Arctic Stream on debut and then belted rivals at her third career outing. Progressive type who smashed the clock at a recent trial. CAPE LADY is not the horse she once promised to be, however, that doesn’t mean she can be discounted here. THE ANAESTHETIST gets a similar soft run to last start. TRILLY FILLY broke through for a strong maiden victory last start. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – Gingerella Win Race 7 KLEVA KEZZA back in grade, back in distance and reunited with Shaun O’Donnell should see her go very close to returning to the winners circle. KINGDOM AND EMPIRE is dropping back sharply in grade and is sure to be well supported in the market with strong form lines. DELANEY is going well without going great. The trip does look about perfect for him. HEART OF COEUR is yet to put in a bad run since being freshened. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – Kleva Kezza win Race 8 SORDELLO was a 9 year old Class1 who hadn’t tasted success in over 2000 days. Kudos to connections for resurrecting his career. Can definitely make it two on the bounce. RISING SEA looks to have found his race. Leads or box seats and should go mighty close. TURBO POWER was possibly a false form reference when his ‘soft’ track form read up well on face value. Didn’t look to handle the going, forgive. SCARLET SPEEDSTER is worth exotic consideration. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – Sordello Win Race 9 HABESHA was 100-1 on debut and ran a cracker. Looks like a staying filly on the rise and should be worth following this campaign. OTI THELIS may be a big price but arguably ran his best race yet in WA last start. TRUE DELIGHT won what looked a weak maiden but you can be sure Pike will position perfectly. QUICK REFLECTS was much improved last start. Numbers: 5 – 12 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – Habesha win Race 10 DISCO METAL is now at a new stable and most importantly a noted first-up stable. Goes extremely well fresh and could give this a shake. LEAGUE OF NATIONS is a maiden but form reads up extremely well for a race of this nature. Could simply run them ragged. FIRE MAKER and YOU NO WHAT I MEAN were equally as impressive runs down the straight first-up. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – Disco Metal Eachway Race 11 BORN BLUE comes out of a very strong staying form reference race. Will drop straight out to last but he is the class runner. MIDNIGHT SKY is a little unknown at the trip but all of Mr Peters’ mares tend to stick the trip well. I’M A LOVEMAN goes round at a price and can run a big race with the right run. BUSTERS SHADOW possibly didn’t appreciate the conditions last start. Prior was excellent. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 8 – 5 Quad (Race 8 – 11) 1,2,6 5,6,12 4,5,8,9 2,3,5,8 Market Market
