Greg’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on October 26, 2016October 31, 2016 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 MISS ICONIC has been given a month’s freshen-up since pulling up lame in Saturday grade. She should settle right on the speed and prove very hard to beat. VAIN STRYKER led all the way and won well on debut. He can lead or box seat from gate 1. TWO FOR TWENTY TWO has trialled well for his return. DON’T LET THOMMO GO showed ability last campaign and Harvey rides. Numbers – 3 – 7 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – MISS ICONIC WIN SuperPick - Race 1 No. 3 MISS ICONIC - Profit Plus – 25% (Win) RACE 2 Wide open staying race. Without any confidence going for SAXAPAK who ran well two starts back and then was outclassed at Bunbury. This looks a much weaker race and the engagement of Autier is a positive. DO YOU DO looks close to another win and Harvey rides. THE KARNUP KID can lead and give a big sight. POWER PACKED has claims. Numbers – 6 – 7 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – SAXAPAK AND DO YOU DO RACE 3 This looks close to a match race between the last start winners PRINCESS JASMAN and CELTIC WIZARD. Slight leaning towards PRINCESS JASMAN who is on the quick back up after a career best win at this track and distance last Wednesday. BJORN TO LOVE will finish strongly and should finish in the placings. HALUSHI can lead and give a sight if he races more tractably. Numbers – 5 – 3 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – PRINCESS JASMAN AND CELTIC WIZARD RACE 4 LUKE’S GOLD is looking to keep his undefeated record intact. He showed plenty of toughness and strength in both his wins. He’ll breeze or lead and is the one to run down. COOL IMAGE is suited with the drop back to 1200m and Pike goes back on. SOURCE OF SURVIVAL has trialled well and should get a lovely run just behind the speed. SECRET CHARGE has been freshened up since a lacklustre display in Saturday grade. Numbers – 1 – 6 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – LUKE’S GOLD WIN RACE 5 LUSAHA looks a class above these. He was a dominant first-up winner at Northam and then was scratched from the Belgravia on Saturday after drawing a wide gate. He’ll breeze or lead and take a plenty of catching. HURRICANE JACK was solid first-up. He can box seat from gate 1. BLACKLINE has shown ability in her trials. PERSIAN PRINCESS showed ability in her first campaign. Numbers – 2 – 1 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – LUSAHA WIN RACE 6 RISING SEA has been freshened up since a disappointing last start effort in Saturday grade. He’s trialled well since and the mile suits. SEBRING SPY looks the only leader in the race. He has claims again if he can get it soft in front. HUMANITY was run off his legs in a feature race at Bunbury over 1000m. Harvey goes on and the rise to a mile will help. NICE GO is consistent and the blinkers have been added to his gear. Numbers – 2 – 1 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – RISING SEA AND SEBRING SPY RACE 7 HINCHINBEEL put in a shocker last start but it was almost too bad too be true. The blinkers come off in an endeavour to get him to settle better. If he does and Harvey controls it in front he’s the one to catch. PHANTOM CHOICE is racing very well and should get a lovely run from a good draw. BOWL A DOOSRA trialled well and can run a big race fresh. HOPETOUN is always a chance at this level and is another who will get a soft run from a good draw. Numbers – 5 – 1 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – HINCHINBEEL AND PHANTOM CHOICE QUADDIE RACE 4 – 1, 3, 6 RACE 5 – 1, 2, 8 RACE 6 – 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 RACE 7 – 1, 5, 6, 7 Bet Now
