Michael Heaton’s Saturday Narrogin Preview Posted on March 26, 2026March 26, 2026 | Posted by Michael Heaton RACE 1 BAMBUN GIRL looks ready to break through. She’s found the line well at each of her recent assignments, now steps to 1720m and importantly strikes much weaker opposition. DAKINED was eye -catching at Pinjarra at $101 2 starts back then contested a far stronger race last Sunday. He now backs up off 6 days, drops 3.5kg after the claim and should handle the wet conditions being by Sessions. CROMBIE is a career maiden but had no luck when wide without cover at Albany last start and ran second at his previous outing. He’ll get a much more economical run from the better draw here and has placed on a soft-7 tracks previously. FLY AWAY FLIRT has been beaten a furlong at her first 2 runs back but she’s run second at both of her starts at this track/distance and can roll across to settle on-speed. Numbers: 5-7-2-11 Suggested Bet – BAMBUN GIRL WIN RACE 2 I’M A SOULMAN will find this lengths easier than each and every one of his race starts to date and he’ll likely relish the wet conditions seeing he ran nice seconds at his first 2 race starts which were both on soft tracks. He was steady out of the machine first up at Belmont and had a tough run in what has turned out to be a hot winner-producing race then was solid despite not getting a huge amount of room in the straight at Pinjarra last time out. This looks highly winnable. LEAFICE drops back from 1400m to 1100m and has been around the mark all prep. She’ll also find this is a lot easier than recent outings but has also had her chance to break through on a few occasions. DEW TELL beat I’m A Soulman home first up in the hot Slip The Jab race and should be able to work across to land on-speed. LONGTIMEBELIEVER has finished second at her last 2 starts at Narrogin but her best runs have been on top of the ground. Numbers: 3-10-8-5 Suggested Bet – I’M A SOULMAN WIN RACE 3 DIAMOND LIGHT was unfortunately scratched at the barriers first up at York a fortnight ago but trialled up nicely alongside some handy types like Order Online, Door Buster and Missile Talk leading into it. She’s resuming off a 14-month lay-off but has good earlier form and looks the likely leader. RODNEY OH RODNEY was big first up in this grade at York when racing wide throughout and fighting on for second before being beaten 4.5L in a far stronger race at Ascot second up. He sneaks into this with 53kg and can track Diamond Light’s every move in running. VIA MONTE is hard to catch but he’s a massive class dropper. 24 of his 25 starts for John Jachmann have been in either 58+ or 70+ grade and he now drops into a 46+ with 58kg after the claim. Nice placement. TRADED MY SHOES trialled up much better this preparation then ran all the fastest closing sectionals of the meeting when winning first up at Albany. Numbers: 6-9-3-5 Suggested Bet – DIAMOND LIGHT WIN RACE 4 O’SO DEMANDING began steadily last week and was on the back foot from the outset but she now gets blinkers on for the first time and her earlier form reads up very well for this moderate 46+ event. 5 starts ago she was 1.7L off Pingers (now a Saturday Graduation and 66+ winner), Ripper Farooq and Wiluna Lass and 3 starts ago she was less than 1L third to Hubble’s Dragon (subsequent runner-up in the 3YO Magic Millions) and the talented God’s Cross. If she can jump cleanly and roll forward she should be a sharp improver. PRECAST has been sectionally very good at her past 3 runs and ran the fastest closing splits of the day at York last start. She’s ready to win one and is a previous heavy track winner but always needs luck with her racing style. FOUR SEAS has been around the mark all prep and looks the map horse. SKETTA will likely find the 1190m too sharp for her liking but she trialled up very well for the new stable without her raceday blinkers on and is well placed in this grade. Numbers: 6-3-7-1 Suggested Bet – O’SO DEMANDING WIN RACE 5 HE’S ARCHIE races first up, no trial and did the same last campaign when finishing third to Santanova (now a Saturday Graduation, 66+ and 72+ winner) in a Northam C3. Each of his 10 starts of that preparation were in higher grade than this and he’s 1/1 at this track/distance so he’s worth respecting fresh. GOOD VIBES has never missed the money from 6 starts at Narrogin and ended up back in an awkward position at York last start. She’s importantly drawn inside of ON THE FULL here and can turn the tables. ON THE FULL was very good in the same race and is beautifully placed in this grade but has an awkward map to overcome. PRETTY DEVINE also comes through the same race when uncharacteristically missing the start but she can cross them with a clean getaway here and gets a 3kg weight swing in her favour again Good Vibes for being beaten less than 2L by her 2 starts back. Numbers: 6-5-3-1 Suggested Bet – HE’S ARCHIE WIN RACE 6 ROMMEL’S JEUNEY is a one-trick pony and bounced back to form at York last start when able to find the front and lead throughout. He’s up 220m and up 4kg in the same grade here but he handles wet tracks and can work his way to the top again. SHEEZA SHEILA was a late scratching at York on the same day and has since been sent back to trials where she hit the line nicely. Each of her runs this preparation have had merit and this is a much easier assignment. SPACE ACADEMY won well at Ascot 2 starts back after putting together 2 encouraging performances beforehand but nothing went right for him at Albany last start. He ended up getting posted wide at his first start over 1900m in what ended up a fast-run affair so you can rule a line through the effort. QUEEN NARDI has been building into her campaign and wasn’t far away last time out. Numbers: 9-12-8-4 Suggested Bet – ROMMEL’S JEUNEY WIN RACE 7 OUTSPOKEN LAD looks the one in the 2026 Swan Draught Narrogin Cup. The reigning Carnarvon Cup winner added the Esperance Cup to his CV 2 starts back (beating subsequent Ascot winner The Jester’s Son) before dropping back to 1800m and being beaten only 2L by subsequent Pinjarra Cup winner Royal Toronado at Ascot a fortnight ago. He now gets an extra 100m (tick), has finished in the money at 7 of 11 starts on soft tracks (tick) and should enjoy the run of the race from barrier 2 for Tash Faithfull (tick). TRIO typically improves into a campaign and hits this race third-up so he should be ready to produce his best. He has a sharp turn of foot on his day and has to be included on class alone. SOWAR is 5 weeks between runs but won the Walkaway Cup off 48 days and was a York Cup winner prior to that so he’s suited to this level. SNAZZLER was beaten less than 1L when running the fastest closing sectionals and finishing third in the Bunbury Cup only 3 weeks ago and has to be a winning chance here if he can reproduce that effort. Numbers: 2-1-3-4 Suggested Bet – OUTSPOKEN LAD WIN RACE 8 BELLA VIOLETTA ticks some boxes here. She comes from consecutive Saturday Graduation races where she ran a solid fourth in one and made ground in an unsuitably- run event where the leader dominated in the other and she now drops back into a country 46+. She should slot into a nice position with cover from her middle draw and has placed on both soft and heavy tracks. Nice race for her. LAKEVIEW LIGHTNING caused a boilover at York last start when finding the front cheaply and leading throughout. She stays in the same grade at the same distance and can lead again. TAK GOES BOOM has been good at his past 2 starts and is well placed dropping back in class to a track/distance he’s previously won at but he maps awkwardly again. SNIP’S ROCK did her best work late first up and will appreciate the rise in trip. Numbers: 4-2-7-10 Suggested Bet – BELLA VIOLETTA WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,3,5,6,7 4,8,9,11,12 1,2,3,4 2,4,7 Market Market
