Scott Embry’s Saturday Albany Preview Posted on November 13, 2025November 13, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 QUESTIONEVERYTHING looked a little lost on debut when unable to go with Hyperreal in the home straight, but love the way that he travelled into the race and with the region’s leading rider Tash Faithfull jumping aboard and the benefit of a run under his belt think that he’ll prove too good for his rivals here. AMERICAN QUE TEE ran third behind Optimal in a very slowly run 1000m at the opening meeting. Query on the depth of that form. MYSTIC CHAOS is through the same race and ran fourth behind American Que Tee. Was some money around at odds for her and wasn’t too bad. ARAFISIO has run placings fresh at 1200m without a trial her last two preps. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 10 – 4 Suggested Bet – QUESTIONEVERYTHING WIN RACE 2 SIZE MATTERS resumed in a C1 1000 as a horse who at the end of last preparation was racing over 2000m. All things considered he did a great job to finish within 4L of Cavill Tycoon, Marybee and Outlaw Music in a fast run race and now has a set of shades added and drops back into a maiden, and a thin maiden at that. Gets his chance. BAGGER PRINCE ran a big race on the Fibre Sand last prep at Bunbury and was a solid third behind Hyperreal and Questioneverything (even with the big margin) and if that galloper wins the opener then the form will look even stronger. MA DAME and MENOMONEE BRAVE are through the same trial over 600m and wet to the line locked together. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 7 – 11 Suggested Bet – SIZE MATTERS WIN RACE 3 CALATHINITE finished less than 2L off Door Buster, Energetic and Jemconi at Northam on debut and was kept very safe in betting around the $5.50 mark (in from double figures). You could see in the trial and on race day that he’s extremely green and wayward so barrier 1 should be a blessing for him and Elisha Whittington. In an ideal world he would lead against the fence but if he has to box seat then so be it. BRAVE APACHE another former Eastern States horse that Indi Weinert is looking to improve. Becoming her thing. CRASHED AND BURNED had an excuse and still nearly won first-up without a trial. TANGO RHYTHM found 2 year old racing a bit much and now looks to have returned in better order as a 3 year old. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – CALATHINITE WIN RACE 4 OUR NEMESIS and SACRED OATH ran the quinella at the opening meeting in this exact same race (58+ 1500) and now there’s a 1kg weight swing in favour of SACRED OATH and fingers crossed that Roy Rogers has him back, because when he first arrived in the region he was the next big thing out of Albany before he lost his way for over 12 months. If he repeats the performance he can turn the tables. OUR NEMESIS can be hit and miss but as we saw last start, when things go his way and he turns up he’s a really talented animal. PRAY AGAIN doesn’t win out of turn but he’ll pinch a race or two this season for Jon Jachmann. HANG GLIDER has to lump a full 62kg and is tested at the end of 1500. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – OUR NEMESIS WIN RACE 5 CAPE DOCTOR ran third behind Our Nemesis and Sacred Oath in the 58+ 1500 and now drosp back in grade second-up into a C2. Expect that one of those two will win in Race 4 and there’s a big chance they could even run the quinella again which would make him a stand out dropping right back in grade. Hard to beat. ALBITON hasn’t raced for 37 days since finishing second at York to Who Saz Yes and beating home subsequent winner Rivercrest Magic. Just needs to overcome the tricky draw. GINGERQUEST showed plenty last prep. Hoping to see him build into the prep. LAND OF FIRE is knocking on the door but does seem to love the dirt. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – CAPE DOCTOR WIN RACE 6 WINEACLOCKSUMWHERE smashed the clock at the Opening Meeting. That was far and away the highest rating race of the program, with him leading under 61kg, winning by 1.75L and stopping the clock a staggering 6L faster than average. He’s already a 58+ winner in Kalgoorlie so see no reason why he wouldn’t be winning again second-up. Nice horse for the region. ROCK OF KAHA caused a massive boilover first-up, no trial at 1100m at Northam. Considering he had 20 starts last preparation it’s a great season ahead for the old boy. NO SECOND THOUGHTS is a watch at her WA debut and while suited over further can hold a spot fresh. VONSNIP is rarely far from the action. Numbers: 3 – 9 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – WINEACLOCKSUMWHERE WIN RACE 7 INSYDE SUCCESS is a classy conveyance for a country C2 event. First-up last campaign he finished 1.5L behind On The Full and Wicked Venom in a 0MWLY at Ascot and second-up he was less than 2L off Supernatural, Shooting Spirit and Kraken Time. Has 60.5kg and hasn’t won a race for a long while (Feb 2024) but this is the softest assignment he’s seen in that period and he looked good in his trial win. CAVILL TYCOON made an impression at his WA debut leading and winning in a time 4L faster than average. They look the speed pair and the class runners. PURO might find them a bit sharp at 1100m but watch for her late. HYPERREAL got an overdue maiden win out of the way last start. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – INSYDE SUCCESS WIN RACE 8 TACITO is suited over further (2x 1200, 1300 & 1450m winner in Victoria) but goes bring good form to the race and first-u last campaign won a BM64 1200 at Mornington when returning a gelding. Looks a nice type on paper for Albany racing and going to roll the dice and take the leap of faith that he can return without a trial and get the job done here. LATE ARRIVAL worked far too hard at Ascot and was entitled the fade the way he did. He’ll get a lovely run here along the fence line in a fast run race. GIFT OF THE HEART is a talented type who will burn across into a prominent position. AVOIDANCE similarly is proven at this level and can burn the candle at both ends in his races. Numbers: 5 – 8 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – TACITO WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1 3 1,2,4 3,4,5,8,9,10 Market Market
