Michael Heaton’s Saturday Marble Bar Preview Posted on July 2, 2026July 2, 2026 | Posted by Michael Heaton RACE 1 CHEDDAR BOB looks hard to beat. He won at this meeting last year, looks the likely leader, has been good at both starts this prep and the clever use of Jefferson Tsang’s claim means he meets Fries With That 3.5kg better at the weights for beating him by more than 3L first up. PERCUSSION PRINCE hasn’t run a bad race all campaign and should land in a striking position for the strong Rosie Mahoney-Timo Pike combination. FRIES WITH THAT has run second at both starts back and is knocking on the door for a win but the negative weight swing hurts against some in-form horses. MISSILE GIRL hit the line well last start and looks like she’ll appreciate the extra 100m. Numbers: 1-2-4-3 Suggested Bet – CHEDDAR BOB WIN RACE 2 STAR POWER rocketed to the line late to finish third to the in-form Imperialize last start and can position up closer from the better draw here. She’s been going well all prep and Kyra Yuill is riding as well as anyone on the north-west circuit. FAVOURED SON went within a head of making it 2 from 2 last start when falling just short of reeling in subsequent winner Imperialize. He drops 5kg on that effort and will be hard to beat but he has an awkward map to overcome having drawn outside of some speed. LA SIGNORA DANE hasn’t been far away at her first two starts in WA and looks ready to produce her best third-up. HEEZA BEAU gave a lot of cheek in front at $51 first up and can ride the speed for a long way again. Numbers: 3-4-6-5 Suggested Bet – STAR POWER WIN RACE 3 LEAFICE resumes for new trainer Dean Cocivera and should be a handy north-west acquisition. The Long Leaf filly placed at 3 of her 8 starts in the inner provincials, including first up at Bunbury last preparation, and she’s capable of rolling forward and riding the speed. RAY’S SAUCE has placed at his past 2 starts and was a tough effort last time out when covering ground and sticking on over 1300m. The drop back to 1200m from a better gate looks a positive for him. LADY MAYFLOWER is a 22-start maiden drawn sticky but she drops to 54kg in arguably the easiest race she’s contested in her career to date and she’s always shown glimpses. WATERSHED WISDOM an improver third-up with a better run and Kyra Yuill jumping aboard. Numbers: 5-1-4-6 Suggested Bet – LEAFICE WIN RACE 4 DAWN RETREAT won first up then was held up over the final stages when not beaten far at his next outing. He gets a considerable 3kg swing on Torqued Up and Kia Ora Tatou from that run after Jefferson Tsang’s claim and he’s a former track/distance winner here. TORQUED UP got a fair way back from a wide draw last start but his previous efforts were all very good. Going well, drawn better and can bounce back. KIA ORA TATOU is a tricky horse to catch but he was brave second up and he has the tactical speed to get across from his awkward draw. ARDRETT will get back but she should be rattling late. Numbers: 5-1-3-2 Suggested Bet – DAWN RETREAT WIN RACE 5 MAGIC MIKEY was a great first run on the dirt when hitting the line strongly to finish a close second to Reginald at this distance. He should be a natural improver second time around, he gets a 2.5kg swing in his favour and he maps to stalk to leading pair again. REGINALD appreciated the step back to a mile last start and was able to dictate terms and hang on. He looks the likely leader again and Jason Li sticks. ANOTHER NEPHEW has hit the line super at both starts back and is ready to win but he’ll likely get a fair way back again. Stablemate WARBY RANGES has been building towards his best form and ran second at this track/grade/distance last year. Numbers: 2-1-4-8 Suggested Bet – MAGIC MIKEY WIN RACE 6 Tough race. KERMELIA was well beaten last start but she hit the line well to finish third at her previous outing and is a significant class dropper. She resumed in a C3, contested two 56+ events after that and now drops right back into a C1 at her fourth run back. PAVLIANI was a better run last start and can settle closer here with a better draw and the step to a mile. REEL SERENITY has barely beaten a horse home in her three dirt runs this preparation but she now drops in grade, is drawn to stay out of trouble and her earlier grass form suggests she’s capable of quick improvement. STOPTHEPROSPECTOR is an unplaced maiden but was better last start and could roll to the top to give some cheek. Numbers: 1-8-3-5 Suggested Bet – KERMELIA WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,5,6 1,3,5,2 1,2,4,8 1,3,5,6,8 240 combinations Market Market
