Scott Embry’s Thursday Northam Preview Posted on November 5, 2025November 5, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 HARRIS ROAD comes through a 2200m maiden where a distant third behind Neap Tide. Not convinced that form is going to be much good (Last Mile didn’t beat one home on Melb Cup Day at Ascot), however, this is a really poor and thin field. At least he’s had the run over the distance. INTO THE FUTURE is lightly raced, Ryan Hill’s team is going really well and she’s been handy this preparation, including giving cheek at 200-1 behind Buthelezi (subsequent winner Masmelo Tuesday) and now strikes the weakest race of her career with 53kg. OBSENTINO has a senior on but has been battling away in these maidens for months. LEAD CINGA went around in a C1 last start. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – HARRIS ROAD WIN RACE 2 AUSSIE REACTOR resumed in a 3 year old 0MWLY behind Testy Pharoah (subsequent winners Long Service Leaf and Publicise) and then was held up until the 150m before pulling late ground off Dominatus (won Tuesday) and Radiant Light (goes to the Fairetha Saturday). This looks very winnable. THE CRIMSON PIRATE was sent out of a $2.25 favourite ahead of dominant winner Ougirlcanrun (since fourth in a Burgess Queen). He got his head up from the 800, he didn’t seem to appreciate being taken off his natural running line in the home straight and he did a bit too much wrong. Few gear changes are made as well as another new rider. Hopefully they straighten him out. ADMIRE ASTRA hasn’t lived up to the market expectation yet. BONDI LIFESAVER looks like 1400m will suit. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – AUSSIE REACTOR WIN RACE 3 MAGNIQUE was a nice 3 year old filly who won a maiden and a C1 and placed in a 3 year old 62+ behind Stakes winner Repossession. She resumes off the back of a recent trial win in a C3 and looks really well placed by Simon Miller. Love the fact that they leave Lucy on and carry the 60kg because she can over race at times. MAGALI MAGIC has been kept safe in betting in 60+ Graduation company recently and hasn’t had much go her way luck or map wise in her last two. Back in grade to suit. MIGHTY HOSANNA was scratched Tuesday to save for this. DE GRANDHOMME won well at Geraldton and wasn’t horrible over 1200m. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – MAGNIQUE WIN RACE 4 TENNESSEE SPIRIT was backed into $1.40 on debut in a 3 year old 0MWLY 1000 at Belmont when leading and looking the winner on straightening before the gauge read empty and she was gobbled up by Ladies Pro. Gets out to 1100m here and draws wide. Was only coming off a 400m jump out so should be fitter and better for the experience but she’s Likely to be extremely short. GABEX had shades added last start and they had a clear effect. Looks the obvious danger on paper with the Ourgirlcanrun / The Crimson Pirate form. GODLESS STORM is only having his second career run as a 6 year old but he’s always shown raw talent at trials over many years. Must have some issues. COMMON TOUCH won his most recent trial over 930m in what was a clear improved performance to his 2 year old trials. Numbers: 10 – 11 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – TENNESSEE SPIRIT WIN RACE 5 STORM AWAY resumed in the Max Simmonds Classic behind Talkanco (since second in a Burgess Queen) and Luana Miss (Placid Ark Prelude winner and Placid Ark favourite) before heading to the Belgravia second-up when beaten 3.6L by undefeated potential star in King of Light. Carries only 1kg more in an All Age maiden and looks the winner on paper. VIRESHA was given quiet trials leading into her debut. She’ll get back but does look to have more upside than most of these. RISING FAME didn’t fire a shot first-up but has since trialled again and raced far better. FINAL CALL enjoyed a solid first campaign. Just may want further. Numbers: 7 – 12 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – STORM AWAY WIN RACE 6 ARTISTRY IN MOTION won a 1400m maiden at Bunbury by 5L before heading straight to a 3 year old Saturday when finishing a solid second to undefeated galloper Rock Fest (resumes in the Fairetha Saturday) beaten only 1L on a Heavy8. Was always going to find the Belgravia a step too far first-up, no trial and while he didn’t beat a runner home this is 10L weaker. Much more suitable. ESTA MIRADO was a drifter in late betting at her return to racing and never really travelled a winning chance at any stage. Was off a freshen so may well have needed the run? SNIP OF ROMANCE is going a bit better than it initially reads. PONY UP was right place, right time to break her maiden. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 10 – 8 Suggested Bet – ARTISTRY IN MOTION WIN RACE 7 SILENT DIVA made an impression on debut over 1000m as a 2 year old at Belmont Park when held up into the home corner before letting rip to sprint right over the top of them. At her second d outing she raced down the 1000m straight and looked lost in a forgive run. The trials were fair and then her first-up run under a 3kg claimer was a pass mark. Putting a lot of expectation in her being fitter second-up and improving lengths for Pike. STRAPPING PROPHET was scratched from Tuesday at Ascot to save for this and he’ll appreciate the extra 100m to wind up. Nice horse in the making. GOLDEN KATHLEEN is bouncing between grades desperately trying to win another race. She’s just not quite the same horse we saw as a 2 year old. ISHKUR goes lengths better for Holly Nottle than anyone. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – SILENT DIVA WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 10 7 1,7 2,8 Market Market
