Vale Warren Huntly – A Racing Gentleman Remembered Posted on October 8, 2025October 9, 2025 | Posted by TABtouch The TABtouch family lost one of our own this weekend. Expert tipster Warren Huntly passed away at the age of 63 following a long illness. Warren was more than a tipster, he was a pillar of Aussie racing, a mentor, and a gentleman whose passion for the sport touched all of us. For TABtouch staff and punters alike, Warren’s insights were a trusted guide, his voice a familiar comfort on race days. Warren’s career spanned over two decades, beginning as a trackwork clocker and jockey manager, before becoming a form analyst and presenter. His sharp eye for detail and deep understanding of horse racing made him one of the most respected tipsters in the country. He famously tipped the card at Kilmore in 2022, selecting all eight winners. Passionate and hard-working until the end, Warren submitted his final tips to us just days before his passing. In fact, he provided the wildcard tip for our customer email: Charm Stone to take the Manikato Stakes. The $34 chance stormed home in front of Baraqiel, Magic Time and Lady Shenandoah to win by two lengths. It was his final gift to us in a long-standing and important partnership. Warren’s journey into racing began with a simple share in a horse named Splinter, but it quickly became a lifelong calling. He left a corporate career to pursue his passion full-time, eventually serving as President of the Victorian Racing Media Association (VRMA) during the COVID-19 pandemic and receiving the Bert Wolfe Media Award in 2022 for his outstanding contribution to racing journalism. The outpouring of tributes has been overwhelming. Longtime colleague Andrew Hensley told TABradio hosts Taylor Courtland and Digby Beacham that Warren “was humble within himself, he just wanted to do the job – he was getting paid but he would’ve done it for nothing. He loved doing it”. Warren Huntly’s legacy is not just in the winners he tipped. It’s in the respect he earned, the friendships he built, and the love he had for the racing community. He was a man of integrity, humility, and generosity. He is survived by his wife Leanne, daughter Nicole, and two grandchildren. From everyone at TABtouch and Racing WA, our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Warren Huntly was Group 1 in every sense. His voice may be silent, but his impact will echo through the industry for years to come. Vale Warren Huntly.
