Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview

Race 1

REBLINE (7) hasn’t had a lot of luck in the two starts since she finished 2nd to Copy Cat Queen and she should give a great sight in this company despite the wide draw. HER PRESENCE (5) is a lightly raced mare with plenty of ability and she should make her presence felt here. SWEET IVY (6) ran on from the rear to be placed at her last start and should be thereabouts again. I LIKE WHAT I SEE (2) was only plain at Pinjarra on Monday but she is likely to improve sharply if she can find the front.

Tips: 7 5 6 2

Suggested Bet: REBLINE (7) to win.

Race 2

BOBBY WATERHOUSE (1) has been unplaced in last eight starts, all at Penrith, so he is hard to tip with any confidence but Michael Young has produced similar horses to win at GP so he goes on top with a watch. This is the weakest field CORDERO (12) has met for a long time but he needs a solid tempo to produce his best. SOMETHING CERTAIN (2) is a maiden but has a future and should settle close to the speed. FIREPLAY (10) looks a good place chance from his nice trailing draw.

Tips: 1 12 2 10

Suggested Bet: BOBBY WATERHOUSE (1) to win.

Race 3

MY SILVER SPOON (1) hasn’t been seen for five weeks and Chris Voak has elected to drive a stablemate so there are some red flags but his form is good enough to indicate that he should run a big race from the pole on an each way basis. SOUND WAVE (11) was rewarded for his consistent form with a solid win here last week and can fight out the finish again. FASTER THAN DAD (12) ran on well to finish 3rd in a stronger field here last week and must be respected. CODENAME MARCUS (9) will settle at the rear but will be a winning chance if there is a solid tempo.

Tips: 1 11 12 9

Suggested Bet: MY SILVER SPOON (1) each way.

Race 4

STEEL THE SHOW (1) didn’t show a lot in his two starts last time in and resumes without a trial so there are some question marks around him but he would be extremely hard to beat over this trip if he is anywhere near his top. ARMA XFACTOR (7) has worked hard and been placed in his last two starts and will head to the breeze again and he should fight out the finish. HOPPYS WAY (10) looks a good place chance if the polemarker runs well and WATER LOU (12) is likely to settle midfield and should hit the line well first-up.

Tips: 1 7 10 12

Suggested Bet: STEEL THE SHOW (1) to win.

Race 5

LINCOLN LOU (1) crossed the Tasman with good NZ form and lived up to that with an impressive first-up victory. He draws the pole tonight and is clearly the one to beat if he can hold up at the start. GAITCRASHER (10) has resumed with two good placings and draws to be in the money again. NO NONEY (2) was placed in 13 consecutive starts before being held up for a run here last week but should be thereabouts tonight from his nice barrier. CAMS BOULDER (11) was a good all-the-way winner here last week and is versatile so shouldn’t be far away from his trailing draw.

Tips: 1 10 2 11

Suggested Bet: LINCOLN LOU (1) to win.

Race 6

OFF THE CHARTS (4) led when comfortably beaten by DAME VALOUR (7) first-up but improved to win at Pinjarra and will give a great sight if she can find the front tonight. DAME VALOUR (7) is racing extremely well and will be suited if there is a burn in the early stages. TANTABIDDI (6) probably has the speed to lead if desired but she has been racing better when not used early and must be considered despite her last start failure. MINOR CATASTROPHE (1) has options at the start and will be a good place chance if she sits on one of the favoured runners.

Tips: 4 7 6 1

Suggested Bet: OFF THE CHARTS (4) to win.

Race 7

HEEZ A VIBE (3) was unplaced in his three starts last time in but he battled bad barriers and handicaps and he should give a great sight if he steps cleanly from the front line tonight. BLUTO (10) has a 30m handicap to overcome but he was only beaten a head by Gee Heza Sport at his last start and this is a significant drop in class. TWOBOB CRACKER (7) hasn’t had much luck in his last three starts but loves the stand looks a major player. TARTAN ROBYN (2) led throughout in a stand against weaker opposition at his last start and should be prominent throughout.

Tips: 3 10 7 2

Suggested Bet: HEEZ A VIBE (3) to win.

Race 8

GOOD TIME LOUIS (1) hasn’t seen daylight at his last two starts but gets his chance to shoot for an all-the-way win here. He meets some smart ones who I would have tipped over a longer journey but happy to go with the polemarker over the sprint trip. COPY CAT QUEEN (6) is absolutely flying and will be charging home as she looks for her 5th straight victory. BRICKIES DREAM (8) is the proven class runner of the field but the draw makes it tough. CHIVALRY (5) loves the sprint distance and can run a big race from the breeze.

Tips: 1 6 8 5

Suggested Bet: GOOD TIME LOUIS (1) to win.

Race 9

LION QUEEN (8) is a classy mare returning from a spell. She is drawn poorly and qwon’t be at her top but can still win this if she can get the right run in transit. IDEAL MUSCLE (6) has been unplaced in his three starts this time in but he caught the eye at his last start and this looks a suitable assignment. HEEZ GOOD AS GOLD (1) led throughout at this track before being dragged back behind a tiring runner here on Tuesday. He looks the early leader and should give a sight at each way odds. MISTER MACEDON (7) faced the breeze when a gallant 2nd at his last start and he is likely to take up that position again.

Tips: 8 6 1 7

Suggested Bet: LION QUEEN (8) to win.

Race 10

HALE SAINT LOUIE (9) hasn’t returned in his best form but he will strip fitter at his third run back from a spell and is clearly the best horse in the race so happy to give him one more chance. POCKET THE CHANGE (1) has been crossed from this barrier twice recently but this doesn’t look a fast line and he will be hard to catch if he does lead. PUSHBUTTON ROCK (2) has been battling bad draws of late and will appreciate a better barrier here. LOUIE LEBEAU (5) will need the race run to suit but is dropping in class.

Tips: 9 1 2 5

Suggested Bet: HALE SAINT LOUIE (9) to win.
