Scott Embry’s Wednesday Pinjarra Preview Posted on May 27, 2025May 27, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DESERT WHISPER beat home HAIDA GWAII in a 3 year old 1000 behind Kay Tee Why first-up and meets her 2.5kg better at the weights with the addition of Chanel Cooper to the saddle. She’s a high speed, 1000m filly who is proven on soft tracks and proven down the straight. Chanel Cooper’s straight 1000 winners (Prince Ragnar / Something Royal) were both allowed to run hard up against the outside fence and expect that’s the tactic adopted here. HAIDA GWAII toyed with moderate opposition last start. This is tougher but she’s progressing well. ART SESSION and ALLENTOWN were both excellent returns to racing behind a sharp sprinter in Repossession. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – DESERT WHISPER WIN RACE 2 MAGNIQUE went around favourite last week and loomed into the race powerfully but to the eye simply didn’t run out a strong 1200m. She backs up off 7 days, she has a set of blinkers added and she’s drawn to park on top of the speed towards the outside fence. Great chance for her to quickly rebound. THE CALABRESE finished 1.5L behind her the last time they met. How will he handle straight racing? Who knows! He’s got huge raw talent but does everything possible wrong. ZOUCONI trialled super alongside first-up winner My Hidden Universe – just not many win from barrier 1. STAR HOSTESS next best. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – MAGNIQUE WIN RACE 3 PURE EXCESS was super impressive at trials. She has only been seen publicly once and that was for a really sharp near 1.5L trial win over 850m. Straight to the races and like Saturday’s winner Too Darn Stormy expecting there will be plenty of punters keen to be with the Dan Morton trained debutante. FOREVER ELITE showed a really stylish turn of acceleration at trials when winning by a near 2L margin. Love the trial and think she’ll give this a huge shake. Big watch on how both Willie Pike and Pat Carbery offset the inside draws down the straight. ELITE ENOUGH can roll forward – looks quite a hard going filly. BABUINO CHINO has run into some nice ones at Lark Hill. Numbers: 11 – 9 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – PURE EXCESS WIN RACE 4 RIPPER FAROOQ is Ripper Placement by Luke Fernie. He went around a well supported second favourite first-up in a 3 year old Saturday behind Pond Master who has since run second to Elite Missile in town and he’s now second-up back into a C1. Good show of faith in 3kg claimer Chanel Cooper and if he jumps he can nearly cross these. ACROSS GENERATIONS found himself rearward on a day where you had to settle on speed at Belmont Park. Did a good job to close the gap to less than 3.5L late. ZEEZEA wasn’t suited down the straight fresh. ANABALLISTIC is on trial at 1300m. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – RIPPER FAROOQ WIN RACE 5 RANYX has been a frustrating follow from time to time but with a set of blinkers on and a barrier to work with going to give him another chance. MAGGIE JEAN beat him home last start in the Ma Ma Belle maiden and also has a gear change with a set of visors going on. Not much between them but expect that Ranyx gets a more economical run in transit. OPPORTUNISTIC has trialled up nicely for a horse making his debut over 1400m. Has only been getting warm late at 950m. ANNIE WARBUCKS put in a ripper fresh from a mile off them. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – RANYX WIN RACE 6 MT SHIRATAKU vs PRECIOUS GOD is a clash between two exciting 3 year olds with futures. Going to side up with PRECIOUS GOD which no doubt will be against the market but she’s a two time Saturday placed filly who trialled soft over 1000m and is capable of sustaining a run. MT SHIRATAKU was brilliant first-up and defied a noticeable market drift. The horse he ran down finished 4th at Pinjarra last week at $1.85 but regardless, visually he was one of the most impressive wins of the day. BEST OF THE GODS was competitive in Westspeed Platinum grade last prep. AYUMI can roll forwards into a spot. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – PRECIOUS GOD WIN RACE 7 INSYDE SUCCESS resumed in a Westspeed (58+), then went to a Graduation (60+) and now third-up should be fully fit and drops into a C3 (54+). He can sit up on the speed in a race where he can allow Teabiscuit and Bartime to sort out what they want to do early and take up a position and he goes around at an eachway quote. You’d be disappointed if he missed Top 3 on his ability and this placement. HOUSEWIFE trialled really well for her return to racing and is a filly with a big L600. LIKE NO OTHER sneaks back into a C3 and is a proven wet tracker. Don’t discount at double figures. KING’S FLIRT a watch for the new yard. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 8 – 13 Suggested Bet – INSYDE SUCCESS EACHWAY RACE 8 IDEALLY should have gone very close last week. She caught the eye first-up over an unsuitable trip and then was held up the entire second-up. She’s come back in good order, she’s on the quick spin and she’s out to 1600m. A lot to like about her, except the fact that obvious luckless horses are frequently over-bet, so shop early or miss out! MASTER TACTICIAN is a wet track horse. If the track holds up a Soft6 he’s a big improver at odds. TRESPASSING can roll to the top and be in front a long way. CHARMING BELLE is going well for her new trainer. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 4 – 15 Suggested Bet – IDEALLY WIN RACE 9 AMJAAD was the on top selection at Belmont on Saturday and see no reason to change that up. She was beaten a head first-up 1400m last preparation by Trio and with the speed drawn outside her (Looks and Five Down) Steve Parnham should land a prominent position right over the pace. SIX SHOOTER was backed into odds on at stages in betting on the weekend. The more scratchings the better – already into gate 7. MANHATTAN STRIP beat home Camera Action first-up who franked the form in the Provincial Final. MORE THAN ENUFF won well first-up without a trial earlier in the campaign. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – AMJAAD WIN RACE 10 BUSTLER was $9 on Saturday and will be more like $6 on Wednesday which hurts the early eachway punters but that’s racing! Loved his trials, love the map, proven WFA commodity and if he’s as sharp as his recent 1000m trial he’ll be running a big race here. Pinjarra a big unknown for the majority of them now. WEST STAR was dominant in the Northam Stakes to the point where it’s hard to see anything from that race turning the tables on him, regardless of the negative weight swings from SWP to WFA. WESTERN EMPIRE skipped the Northam Stakes and that could well prove a tactically genius move. MAGNIFICENT ANDY just doesn’t know how to run a bad race. Numbers: 3 – 14 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – BUSTER EACHWAY RACE 11 STORMCHASER loses Brayden Gaerth to suspension but with the scratching of key rival Wind And The Lion there has to be a chance that the replacement rider is Jarrad Noske? Does mean that he loses the 2kg claim and definitely makes things harder, but we’ll now be getting eachway rather than a straight out price due to the weight change. LUVNWAR was the big market firmer leading into Saturday and that support must be respected. Did nearly win an Asian Beau fresh prep. TOROPA loves a Soft track and can be easily forgiven for one poor performance. ICE PICK NICK is coming out of a WFA Joey. Numbers: 5 – 11 – 12 – 3 Suggested Bet – STORMCHASER EACHWAY RACE 12 WUBIN GOLD is still drawn the outside barrier (Capt. Obvious) but with the early scratching of the three speed horses Resonator, Nobellity and Kelvinater there is a debate as to whether that makes her life easier or harder? By Race 12 we’ll know whether they’re capable of swooping home down the centre or not – so she becomes a wait and see job now. AHYEAHRIGHTO should be able to safely get across now with those scratchings and is a big winner map wise. DRAKAINA and CHOLLIMA are both through the same form race and with their respective weight pulls are also big players. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 16 – 15 Suggested Bet – WUBIN GOLD EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 9 – 12) 1,3,8 1,3,4,14 5,11,12 2,8,9,15,16 Market Market
