Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on February 4, 2022February 4, 2022 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 BLITZEMBYE (1) rises considerably in class but that is offset by the barrier draw and he should lead and be hard to run down. PRINCE OF PLEASURE was very impressive at his first WA start and the raps on this pacer are huge but he has a wide draw to overcome. KNOW WHEN TO RUN (2) has won well at his last two starts and is capable of bringing up the hat trick. ARMA ENSTEIN (10) is drawn to trail the leader and can be dangerous late. Tips: 1 9 2 10 Suggested Bet: BLITZEMBYE (1) to win. Race 2 MIGHTY RONALDO (8) is the class runner of the field and is capable of overcoming the worst draw. DOMINUS FACTUM (1) will attempt to repeat his all the way win of last week and will take some running down. HEEZ OUR PERSEUS (5) continues to race consistently and can be placed again. DOUBLE UP (6) does drop in class but has an awkward draw to overcome. Tips: 8 1 5 6 Suggested Bet: MIGHTY RONALDO (8) to win. Race 3 BABYFACE ADDA (1) came off 30m when a very creditable 3rd in the Northam Cup and led and won from this barrier seven starts back. BEAT CITY (2) has been very consistent and is drawn to sit on BABYFACE ADDA and will be dangerous if he can obtain clear running. GAMBIT (4) is the class runner but has a slightly awkward draw but he will play major part in the finish if the breaks go his way. MIRRAGON (5) should race on the pace and is a definite place chance. Tips: 1 2 4 5 Suggested Bet: BABYFACE ADDA (1) to win. Race 4 VULTAN TIN (2) won the Pacing Cup just over 12 months ago and gets his chance to break back into the winner’s circle. ROCKNROLL LINCOLN (8) is another former Pacing Cup winner who should appreciate the class drop but has to contend with a poor draw. MANNING (1) is drawn to lead or get a soft run and should prove up to the class rise. NOTA BENE DENARIO (10) should peg up nicely from his trailing draw and should be hitting the line strongly. Tips: 2 8 1 10 Suggested Bet: VULTAN TIN (2) to win. Race 5 MAGNIFICENT STORM (6) is the WA Harness Horse of the YEAR who has to overcome a recent form slump and awkward barrier but he has proven to be the testing material this season. CHICAGO BULL (11) is a grand campaigner who is the best drawn of the fancied runners and is a definite winning chance. PATRONUS STAR (12) will be right in the finish if he repeats his storming finish in the Fremantle Cup. MINSTREL (10) led throughout to win the Fremantle Cup and only needs a clear run to play a part from his awkward draw. Tips: 6 11 12 10 Suggested Bet: PATRONUS STAR (12) each way. Race 6 RAGAZZO MACH (6) could not get into the race in a very quick Nights of Thunder and looks better suited here. ORLANDO BLUE (3) could not overhaul the leader last week in a quick last 400m sprint and will be a major player tonight. STAR OF WILLOUGHBY (1) ran on well to defeat a weaker field last week and will be in contention again from this draw. MASTER LEIGHTON (2) should race on the pegs near the pace and is a rough chance to run into the money. Tips: 6 3 1 2 Suggested Bet: RAGAZZO MACH (6) to win. Race 7 BLISSFUL ABBEY (3) was always in control when she led at her last start and would be hard to beat if she could find the front again. SUING YOU (1) was crossed from this barrier when a short-priced favourite at Wagin so the start will be very important for her chances. BETTOR GET IT ON (4) is racing well and must be considered. PUREST SILK (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and will not be far away. Tips: 3 1 4 10 Suggested Bet: BLISSFUL ABBEY (3) each way. Race 8 AL GUERRERO (6) was a solid 3rd in the Fremantle Cup Consolation and drops in class here. MARQUISARD (1) can improve sharply from this draw at his third run back from a spell and has options at the start. THE KRAKEN (10) is another one drawn to improve on recent form. VIVERE DAMORE (3) is a capable mare resuming from a spell and may have a crack at finding the front. Tips: 6 1 10 3 Suggested Bet: AL GUERRERO (6) to win. Race 9 MAUNGATAHI (1) has the barrier advantage over his main rivals in an even field and has options at the start. SWINGBAND (2) should secure a soft run and will be a definite chance if he can see daylight in the closing stages. MISTER MONTBLANC (4) has won impressively at his last two starts and is capable of bringing up the hat trick THE MIKI TAKER (7) has returned in great form and can be in the finish despite the wide draw. Tips: 1 2 4 7 Suggested Bet: MAUNGATAHI (1) to win. Race 10 THE NOTORIOUS ONE (1) is aptly named but gets his chance from the ideal barrier. JOEY JAMES (2) should follow the speed and will not be too far away. TIGER ROYAL (3) was retired from the race with broken gear when well fancied at his last start. REGAL SCRIBE (4) was partially held up when 2nd at his last start and can play a part with the right run in transit. Tips: 1 2 3 4 Suggested Bet: THE NOTORIOUS ONE (1) to win. Market Market
