Deane Lester’s Flemington Best Bets Posted on November 6, 2020 | Posted by Deane Lester RACE 1 NO.6 ROYAL ORDER ROYAL ORDER is running into winning form and appeals as a value runner when he contests the Grand Handicap (2000m). The lightly raced seven year old should be close to peak fitness following two runs back from a spell and caught the eye with his last start 2nd over 1700 metres at Geelong on October 21. Trainer Mick Kent has been a previous winner of this race including ONCIDIUM RULER in 2017 and has ROYAL ORDER on target to produce his best at good each way odds. RACE 4 NO.5 RIGHT YOU ARE RIGHT YOU ARE kicks off his spring campaign when he runs in the Benchmark 90 Handicap (1600m) and looks one of the best bets of the day. The four year old enjoyed a fruitful winter winning three of his four runs, the only defeat was by the talented PERSAN over 2000 metres at Flemington in June. This is his best distance, champion rider Damien Oliver takes the ride and the son of So You Think has had two solid jumpouts in preparation for his return to racing. He appeals as a stakes horse in the making that should prove hard to beat. RACE 6 NO.3 BIVOUAC BIVOUAC has returned to racing in great form and looks the one to beat in this year’s Darley VRC Sprint Classic (1200m). The four year old was runner up behind CLASSIQUE LEGEND in last month’s The Everest (1200m) at Randwick and did win the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at this track and distance in March. Glen Boss has developed a fine rapport with BIVOUAC who is poised to record his third win at Group 1 level. Market Market
