Scott Embry’s Sunday York Preview Posted on November 6, 2020November 6, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 RIP AND SNIP made his debut in a strong 2 year old race when fifth behind First Law, Convalesce, She’s God To You and Choice Bid. Further back in eight and ninth were winners Town Hall and All Day Session. Recent trial was strong and should be far too classy for moderate maiden opposition. ETHICAL SECRET ran well on debut and looked to have ability at trials. PRORATED went round at 60-1 last start but wasn’t disgraced by Brave Dream. Should be strong enough form to run a race here. FANDAZZLE is capable of running a cheeky race. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – RIP AND SNIP WIN RACE 2 EXQUISITE STAR was an eye catching trial when never tested and bolting under a hold. Missed away first-up and from then on never really travelled like the winner. Going to be forgiving for the run and this does look a thin race. Expecting her to bounce back and go close here. BLUE EYED GIRL looks the reason Brad Parnham travels to York and gave a sight last start. MINI COAT doesn’t have great numerical form but it is in stronger races than this. READY TO RIDE has no weight and gets a soft run. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 9 – 10 Suggested Bet – EXQUISITE STAR WIN RACE 3 TEMPTACION was the first emergency in the Burgess Queen Stakes on Tuesday and was scratched early and now bobs up in a York maiden. The trial was fair but she ran extremely well on debut when Steve Parnham gave her a peach in running. Looks like she’ll be winning metro races and this is a lowly York maiden. Short but sweet. SPECIAL PICTURE had no luck at Geraldton when knocked around in the home straight behind tiring and wayward runners. RAG ‘N’ BONEMAN can find the top and seemed to run for Derrick. CAN’T STOP NOW improved sharply with the shades. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – TEMPTACION WIN RACE 4 FOXY ROYALE is a veteran mare but continues to race exteremely well. Absolutely loves the York track and it is a horses for courses kind of location. Has to lump 60kg which is an ask but the way she is going she’ll be coming hard late. LIES ‘N’ DECEPTION got the job done here two starts ago and you can forgive the last start performance at Ascot in a race where they came down the middle. CANDIJAY hasn’t fired a shot in a long while but did show glimpses early days. NOT MY FIGHT is drawn sticky but Brad Parnham is riding brilliantly. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – FOXY ROYALE WIN RACE 5 WARRCARRCOMBO broke her maiden leading throughout at York two starts ago and then was beaten 13L in a C1. That race did contain Magical Dream (Belgravia Stakes winner) as well as Smart Princess and Playing Red. From the inside gate should box seat and gets a great chance to bounce back. MISS MERIT is the most talented horse in the race but isn’t an easy ride and Spuds Galati is drawn very awkwardly. SWANKY LASS has been going super on the dirt but can she bring it to the grass? BUFF MAN a mad one for novelty players. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – WARRCARRCOMBO WIN RACE 6 VELAGO gets his (final) chance. Trial at Lark Hill back on 5 October was outstanding, first-up effort when missing away was huge behind Caerhelan and subsequent winners Duptano and Trade Storm and then did everything wrong last time out. He is enigmatic and is an all or nothing type of investment. In this grade he’ll win by 6 or run last. Not a lot in between for Velago. BRAVE CONTENDER is a model of consistency and should box seat from the draw. Great use of the claim and perfect placement. SIXPENCE SPENT is well placed in this grade but needs to turn the clock back on his form. DIAMONDS FOR ALL an improver at a price. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – VELAGO WIN RACE 7 PALACHINO looks very hard to beat here for an in-form Boy Hill. Missed by a nose first-up behind Kelly’s Gem and then didn’t look suited when drawn the inside in an Ascot Westspeed race behind Igarashi and subsequent winner Tajmali. Expecting Hill to stay off the fence and put her into the race as she has the best turn of speed by far. Hopefully the Unleaded Premium tank doesn’t empty in the final 100. ALLURING should be suited to York racing and will roll them along. SPORTY SPICE has run well since joining Paige Kenney and is a York winner. URQUELL hasn’t seen a race this weak for a long while. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – PALACHINO WIN RACE 8 MACKENZIE BROOKE gets a senior rider back on for the first time since she ran an impressive second to highly progressive mare Montelena first-up. Since then has run fifth behind Leading Girl, fifth behind Double Digit and then second to Double Digit. She is the class horse in the field and with Clint Johnston-Porter back aboard stands out as the one to beat. PUSH TO PASS might be an old grey battler of 10 years but his last two have been enormous. His effort in the Northam Cup was brilliant. BROTHER’S KEEPER has likely been set for this race and gets in well at the weights. JUICING CARROTS a model of consistency off the 7 day back-ups. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – MACKENZIE BROOKE WIN RACE 9 ADMIRAL PROMO is a back-marker which is never an ideal situation at York but over the 1920 there should be a few moves coming mid-race and if Chris Nicoll joins the 3 deep train he is capable of gunning them down. Resumed in a 0MWLY race behind Tonkatuff and then was finishing off well behind Deputano, Captain Burglar and Blackwater Bay. Should be coming hard late. BLACK SMUGGLER loves the York surface and is knocking on the door. TRUE ORA will be at the other end of proceedings and battling away hard on speed. BLITZ GLORY an improver out in trip. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – ADMIRAL PROMO WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 9) 1,2,3 1,3,4,5,7 1,4 6,8 Market Market
