Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on February 11, 2020February 12, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 UNCANNY TIMING was excellent at his return to the race track clocking by far the best closing sections when running third to Long Beach and subsequent maiden winner Alexis Olympia. New stable, new rider, bars off, should go well. EXCELESTIAL showed ability in her first two runs as a juvenile. Trialed really well when untested bolting behind horses at Lark Hill. AMASENUS has shades added and had no luck at all on debut. REAL BEAUTY draws soft but will be short. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 11 – 9 Suggested Bet – UNCANNY TIMING WIN Race 2 LADIES OF LONDON has been hard in the market at all 8 career outings producing 1 win and 6 other minors. Another winnable race for her but patience is wearing a little thin. NORTON comes from the same form race and was almost as good a run. Will be a fair price discrepancy. UNIVERSAL APPEAL should flash late and could end up in the best going out deep. SEMIGEL ran his best race of the preparation last time out. Numbers: 2 – 9 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – LADIES OF LONDON WIN Race 3 KELLY’S GEM was eye catching up the fence first-up from a long injury enforced lay off. She then had punters jumping out of trees in a Saturday race which didn’t map well for her and she was unable to make any impression. Drops back into a C3 and gets a track which should really suit backmarkers. UNENDING was a little disappointing last time out but should be winding up three deep. BLAZEN CAZAH is going well and there isn’t a lot between C1 and C3 company in these distance races. PRECIOUS CARGO can be forgiven for the last start flop. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 10 – 8 Suggested Bet – KELLY’S GEM WIN Race 4 UNIBELLE was big on debut when finding trouble and still running the best closing sections. Again was impressive in a Saturday race behind Money Matters and Guesteen. Last start lead them up on a rails out day and any leaders with the rail at 14m can be forgiven. Following up here at double figures. PARIS REPORT looks to have come back to racing well after a let up. Maiden win was strong and can go on with it. SNIPPY MISS drops in grade after repeated solid efforts in Saturday 3 year old company. NATIVE CHIMES is a talented maiden and could be suited to dropping out and winding up. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – UNIBELLE EACHWAY Race 5 EURASIA has won well at his last two and the barrier could prove a blessing in disguise. Expecting the middle of the track to be dynamite and he should find that position in the straight. QUEEN TAKES KING was able to score on debut over 1700m. Huge query on the form out of that race but she looked impressive and can only improve with race experience. DARK MISSION looks like she’ll only get better the further they go. SHOWADDYWADDY ran well on debut when caught wide. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – EURASIA EACHWAY Race 6 STAR GLITTER has run eye catching races in four consecutive 72+ assignments when racing well outside the handicap and now drops into a midweek. Back to 1200, back in grade, drawn a gate. He has legitimate claims to be favourite in this and likely opens a big price. CITY CIRCLE was scratched from a winnable Saturday race to be saved for this. AY TEE EMM is low flying. Interesting to see where he ends up in the run. NORTHERN RIVER is building quickly toward a WA win. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – STAR GLITTER EACHWAY Race 7 CAERHELAN is another who is drawn awkwardly on paper but could end up in the moving line. History says that when the rail is at 14m the best spot is three deep with cover and W.Pike is the king of finding that position. ALTANI could not have been more impressive this preparation when allowed to find her feet in running. CITICHANT is bursting to win a race and finally draws a gate. ROSEBUSH wins one soon with the right run. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – CAERHELAN EACHWAY Race 8 CAMBIST won well first-up last preparation and then was thrown in the deep end contesting the Burgess Queen (Kay Cee, Tuscan Queen, Sanabreanna, Miss West Coast) and then never saw daylight in the Champion Fillies. Resumes here and should give a sight. GREAT CHARADE is going particularly well and should get a nice midfield run. TRADE THUNDER won like a horse going places in Geraldton. DALALAH was great at her WA debut. Numbers: 12 – 5 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – CAMBIST EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,4,5,9 1,3,4,5,6 3,6,7,9 1,3,5,9,12 Market Market
