Scott Embry’s Thursday Northam Preview Posted on August 28, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 ADELAIDE ACE was backed hard on debut and put in a really good performance. He looks well above average and awfully hard to beat. Naughty By Nature made the form look good and he takes beating here. LEICA JAGUAR looks the logical danger. Strong improvement first-up to second-up and loomed the winner before being fought off by a fairly nice one in Born to Try. SOWAR was disappointing at Belmont, can improve. MAJOR MITCHELL next best. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – ADELAIDE ACE WIN Race 2 PATY’S FORCAST was $11 into $2.60 first-up off a nice trial at Pinjarra Park. The effort may well have been far better than it looks on paper because the inside pad was lengths inferior that particular day. The debut effort was huge and she can bounce back here for any punters who are willing to front up again. KAZAZI could cross them from a wide alley and that would put him into the race. KORANIS showed glimpse of ability last prep. Changes stable, gear changes, keep safe. SEEING DAYLIGHT next best. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – PATY’S FORCAST WIN Race 3 JENJA was a great trial and finished right alongside Celebrity Queen. The effort was sustained and from the gate should be given every possible chance to sit forward of midfield and looks extremely hard to beat. VALIDATION raced well last preparation and the stable can get them up fresh. SCANDOLO has been there abouts his whole career. No surprise to see him lead and give a stack of cheek. BUSINESS AT FIVE was a nice trial at Pinjarra down the straight. Numbers: 12 – 8 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – JENJA WIN Race 4 BRAVE CALL put in an absolute shocked last start. He had the right formline behind Too Close The Sun and was backed as if unbeatable. Never travelled and never gave a yelp. His previous two runs were excellent. Willing to forgive and forget he went round. BOOTLEG RASCAL also comes from the Too Close the Sun form reference and is closing in rapidly on a maiden win. AVA EXPRESS ran a ripper last start at cricket score odds. A repeat puts him in the finish. CABLE GUY is improving with racing. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – BRAVE CALL WIN Race 5 BOMBARDMENT draws to find the front for the first time this preparation. Would love to see Brad Parnham kick his first winner home soon and this horse should take him a long way into the straight. SUSPECTUS ran a reasonable race first-up and was never in it second-up. WEE RIPPER is getting close and should enjoy the right run in transit. CHAPASCO is first up at a mile but is a one paced type. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – BOMBARDMENT WIN Race 6 MAGIC LAS VEGAS has been a hard one to follow this preparation for punters. He is not the easiest horse to ride, does a lot wrong but Ryan Hill has ridden him well historically and this is definitely winnable. DIPLOMAT EXPRESS has been racing well and there is not much between him and the top weight. SAN CRISPINO races close handy to the speed and will win one of these staying races soon. HAY MAGIC has been out of form for a long time but some of her runs this prep have caught the eye. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – MAGIC LAS VEGAS WIN Race 7 POINT TAKEN is over a month between runs which is always a natural concern but Jim Taylor’s stable is producing winners and this mare’s last start effort was excellent. The form has been super, Uni Time, Next Stop The Moon, I’m Icey. It speaks for itself and she should get every possible from the draw. MINIKA is no Misty Metal but she will be winning her fair share of races. Keep an eye on her this prep. STRASMORE won well for Kate Southam first-up. REACTION the blow out from three back the fence in a fast run race. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 12 Suggested Bet – POINT TAKEN WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2 1,2,3,4 1,3,7,8 1,2,3 Market Market
