Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on August 29, 2019 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 STARFROMTHEPALACE (7) has been battling bad draws but has run on to be placed at her last four starts. She will be suited when there is a stronger early tempo and could get that scenario tonight. MY SWEET DEAL (10) won her first two starts before finishing a gallant 2nd to DISSERTATION (12) and can play a part if she has any luck from this draw. DISSERTATION (12) won three on end before finishing 2nd here last week and should be thereabouts again. LONGREACH BAY (11) was an impressive last start winner and has plenty of ability. Tips: 7 10 12 11 Suggested Bet: STARFROMTHEPALACE (7) each way. Race 2 PIERRE WHITBY (10) was an impressive winner two starts back before finishing midfield in a strong field here last week. He is awkwardly drawn tonight but will be hard to hold out if he has any luck in running. ROCK ME OVER (2) has been placed at five of his past six runs and should be right in the finish again. ACE BROMAC (7) has finished at the rear at his last two starts but could be an improver at odds here. HOT FRATERNITY (9) should be fitter for his two runs back from a spell and can play a part despite his wide draw. Tips: 10 2 7 9 Suggested Bet: PIERRE WHITBY (10) to win. Race 3 MAD ROBBER (1) broke in the score-up and took no part two starts back before running a nice 5th to Eloquent Mach here last week. He looks the leader tonight and should prove hard to catch. MAJOR POCKET (7) has finished 2nd at his last four starts and looks the main danger but is likely to have to sit outside his main rival. SMOLDERING ASHES (10) is drawn to get a lovely run in transit and looks a great each way chance. LIVURA (2) should settle handy in the run and is a winning chance if the breaks go his way. Tips: 1 7 10 2 Suggested Bet: MAD ROBBER (1) to win. Race 4 SON OF A TIGER (1) has won four of his seven starts in WA and looks extremely hard to beat from his favoured frontrunning role tonight. PRADAS IDEAL DAHLING (5) finished 7th behind SON OF A TIGER (1) last start and looks the main danger if he can obtain a better run in transit. PRESIDENTMACH (6) sat behind Wildwest when 2nd to that star pacer last week but isn’t as well drawn tonight. BEE SEVENTEEN (10) is drawn to trail the favourite and looks a good place chance. Tips: 1 5 6 10 Suggested Bet: SON OF A TIGER (1) to win. Race 5 INFINITE SYMBOL (2) is racing consistently and hasn’t finished further back than 5th in her last nine starts. She is well drawn tonight and looks the one to beat. COTT BEACH (12) is first-up after a break but is the class mare of this field and should be charging home. MON LILLIES (1) is a good frontrunner at her best and will give them something to catch if she is ready for this assignment at her return from a spell. JUST ROCKON BYE (8) was a dominant all-the-way winner here last week but isn’t as well drawn tonight. Tips: 2 12 1 8 Suggested Bet: INFINITE SYMBOL (2) to win. Race 6 OUR CORELLI (1) attempted to lead throughout over the staying strip when narrowly beaten by Vampiro last start. He looks better suited by the sprint distance tonight and looks the one to beat. HANDSANDWHEELS (9) is in red-hot form with victories at his last three starts against similar fields but has a tough draw to overcome here. IM SOXY (4) was placed in four consecutive starts before striking trouble last week and can bounce back. THEREUGO (5) would be a winning chance if he can use his blistering gate speed to find the front. Tips: 1 9 4 5 Suggested Bet: OUR CORELLI (1) to win. Race 7 BLETCHLEY PARK (9) ran 2nd in the WA Derby and resumed with a dominant win over inferior rivals on Tuesday. He is drawn poorly here and goes up in class but has the turn of foot to overcome those obstacles. ROMAN ART (5) was well driven when an impressive Pinjarra winner at his last start and has the advantage of being drawn inside his main rivals. ROBBIE EASTON (6) resumed with a comfortable win in quick time and should play a part. THE BIRD DANCE (7) is undefeated in his two WA runs but rises in class here. Tips: 9 5 6 7 Suggested Bet: BLETCHLEY PARK (9) to win. Race 8 RUM DELIGHT (1) is a reliable standing start conveyance who was placed twice behind Eloquent Mach from the tapes recently. He doesn’t have the class of some of his rivals but should give a great sight on an each way. ATMOSPHERICAL (4) was well backed to beat Eloquent Mach last start when 6th to that pacer and must be respected. THE DALI EXPRESS (6) will win one of these events when he finds the top but looks a bit one-dimensional at this stage. TWILIGHT SAGA (3) is racing consistently and should be thereabouts from this draw. Tips: 1 4 6 3 Suggested Bet: RUM DELIGHT (1) each way. Race 9 CARTER MICHEAL (2) won consecutive races at this track before running on well to finish 2nd to Mister Ardee last week. He is the best drawn of the main chances and looks the one to beat. WALKINSHAW (5) performed soundly in stronger company last time in and warmed up for this with a strong Byford trial win. SPEED MAN (7) is racing well but has a tough draw to overcome. TUAS DELIGHT (3) has won two of his last four starts and should get a nice run from the barrier. Tips: 2 5 7 3 Suggested Bet: CARTER MICHEAL (2) to win. Race 10 WAIMAC ATTACK (5) faced the breeze when a strong winner before taking up the same role when 3rd to ROMAN AVIATOR (9) last week and should fight out the finish again. MICHAEL JOSEPH (7) ran on strongly to finish 2nd in the same race and should be charging home. THE MIDAS TOUCH (2) isn’t at his top but is drawn to be prominent tonight. ROMAN AVIATOR (9) led throughout to defeat a similar field here last week but will find it harder from out here tonight. Tips: 5 7 2 9 Suggested Bet: WAIMAC ATTACK (5) each way. Market Market
