Scott Embry’s Thursday Geraldton Preview Posted on October 3, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 PARISA trialed well before her debut last preparation and only narrowly went under after marching deep. This looks a wonderful first-up assignment for her. Likely to jump close to odds on in the small field. BAZZA BROWN was a nice run on debut and draws the fence which could be extremely hot. KWAZULU has had a lot of chances but the stable produces them fresh. SUPER EXCEED has a lot of issues and trialed poorly. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – PARISA WIN Race 2 SEANKY DEVIL will be hard to chase down if Turner can find the front. Typically leader bias track, especially early in the season and Turner can get away with it cheap could be the ‘value’ in what looks a two horse race on paper. YADREAMIN’ could give Ben Paterson and Cliff Green a perfect start to the new Geraldon Season. Has run second on three occasions from three outings. Trial was strong and if they can make ground sure to go close. ROSSANA can improve sharply back on the grass. STAY SWEET has been getting back and running home at Carnarvon. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – SNEAKY DEVIL WIN Race 3 ROCK MYLADY looks on paper like the kind of horse who could go through the grades very quickly and be a horse of the year type. Gets back which may not be suited at season opening but form is simply lengths superior to rivals. THREE GENERATIONS was a revelation last preparation and can run a race fresh. PROUD HISTORY is drawn soft and can sit right on top of the speed. STOCKYARD GOSSIP made strong ground in an unsuitable race last start. Previous form strong. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – ROCK MYLADY WIN Race 4 GLOWING ROCK comes back from the dirt and her last three runs really have been strong and she appeals on an eachway basis back on the grass with a significant rider change. BAY PUBLISHER loves the Geraldton track and at his first outing for a new stable can run a big race here. Three runs in earlier this campaign were all reasonable enough to figure. HUSSON MAID has never won at the trip and is getting on in years but her trial was strong. NAHGO could sneak under the radar, nice trial. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – GLOWING ROCK EACHWAY Race 5 HELMS GATE looks extremely well placed for a new stable in Country 70+ company. Has been taking on far superior rivals for a long time and Brodie Kirby has ridden him well previously. Great race for him. QUALITY FAIR went well first-up last campaign with the Pearce Brothers in a stronger graduation race and this is a lot easier assignment. NET PROFIT is flying and can definitely win this. CALAMARI SAFARI will take care of the speed. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – HELMS GATE WIN Race 6 INVINCIBLE WARRIOR has always showed that he has the potential to win a lot of races but has dealt with well publicized leg issues. Trial suggest he could be in good order and if Murray Sharp can keep him sound could have picked up a nice one for Geraldton. GOLDEN ACRES was a first-up no trial winner last preparation and can go close. FAIR EUGENIE is very speedy, expect her to slide across from the outside. ZYGALSKI can run a race at odds off a soft draw with no weight. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 5 – 9 Suggested Bet – INVINCIBLE WARRIOR WIN Race 7 JUPITER RISING was a fairly expensive purchase from the recent dispersal sale and has contested races tougher than this. Typical racing pattern is midfield with cover and should get that from the draw. More than capable of charging through the grades here. CHURCHES should get a soft lead and give a big sight, especially if the rail is hot. STRATOSPHILLY could be a blow out back onto the grass. WOODMANS KEEP is drawn sticky but has enough ability to figure. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet: JUPITER RISING WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,7,9 1,2,3 1,4 1,2,8 Market Market
