Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on August 30, 2018September 4, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 FLIRTINI was backed as if unbeatable first-up and punters would have had their worries throughout as she was continuously niggled at. Looks like the step up to 1200m will be a huge advantage for her and she does look a quality type in the making. FIRE AND RAIN improves lengths by finding the front. Has to lump a big weight but controls from the fence. CLASSIC PRO gets an identical run to when she won last weekend. PABLO’S POEM continues to trial well but runs into some A-grade types first-up. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – FLIRTINI WIN Race 2 TWENTYTHREE RED was held up at crucial stages last start and then made his run in the worst part of the Northam track. If he ends up outside the lead will be hard to beat. KELLY’S SECRET has simply come back a different horse this preparation. The mile looks right up his alley and that Patrocity form should hold up. Sits midfield and peels out turning for home. OUQBA TED was a nice run in the same race as Kelly’s Secret and sits midfield with cover. KEEP’NUPWITHKENDEL has put in three encouraging midfield efforts so far in her career. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 4 – 13 Suggested Bet – TWENTYTHREE RED EACHWAY Race 3 GLORYLAND is always an interesting proposition when returning from the Broome dirt. Last preparation ran a belter in a much tougher race than this when 15 days between runs out of the 2017 Broome Cup. Gives them all something to catch. TAXADERMY is a query at the trip having never won beyond a mile, however, you can do a lot worse in an apprentices cup than backing the best apprentice. BEG TO DIFFER gets track conditions to suit. The wetter the better for him. JAZARI was scratched from an extremely winnable race on Thursday to be saved for this and is going well. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 9 Suggested Bet – GLORYLAND EACHWAY Race 4 UNDISCLOSED fires straight to the front and is clearly the horse to catch in the 1000m dash for cash. She should comfortably cross Chinetti drawn to her inside and on a rain affected track gets her chance to notch another. DIA DE LA RAZA was unable to run her down last start when sitting in the breeze and likely ends up there again. NIGHT VOYAGE went extremely close last week. Interesting to see how the Khan form holds up but he has an electric turn of foot over the sprint trip. PRETENTIOUS CHANT is going great but gets back to last yet again. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – UNDISCLOSED WIN Race 5 PYM’S ROYALE is gunning for an incredible seventh straight victory and the only query in his corner is the wet track. Has never seen worse than a Good4 since joining team Fernie. Maps to get an identical run to last start and takes some beating. LADY LE JEAN stepping up to 1200m looks the big danger. Was well supported last week and was flying late. ELECTRIC LIGHT has won three career races without going around a horse. This is tougher for her. DOUBLE DIGIT has wonderful rain affected form and could be the blowout. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – PYM’S ROYALE WIN Race 6 GET OVER IT has blinkers removed and maps to sit in the box seat. Huge drifter first-up but ran a big race. Gets his chance and should be eachway. DIABLERIE has been going well for months without any luck what so ever. There are probably 8 legitimate winning chances in this field and he will get under the radar of many. GRECO finds the front and makes his own luck on a wet track. NELSON’S FLIGHT has trialed well for his return. Likely sits in the breeze and runs a race fresh. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 10 – 9 Suggested Bet – GET OVER IT EACHWAY Race 7 MAN BOOKER is one of WA’s best sprinter-milers when he is at his peak. His trial before last preparation suggested something wasn’t quite right and he failed to fire a solitary shot. His trial this preparation got the blood flowing. Hoping he is back. POUNAMU will find this a lot easier assignment than any of his races in the last 6-12 months. Gets back and unleashes late. PROFIT STREET was a much improved effort last start. BY DECREE is impossible on weights and measures but grows a leg in the wet and is the only speed in the race. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – MAN BOOKER WIN Race 8 BROTHER’S KEEPER was never a winning chance shortly after the jump in a weak Kalgoorlie race. This is tougher but he maps to sit close handy to the speed and with regular rider Peter Knuckey back aboard gets a chance at an eachway price. SENSE OF POWER is going great guns. Tayla Stone should clear them out and find the front. Best front running rider in WA, full stop. PATROCITY was one of the best maidens in the state and can definitely go on with it here. SONNEN was poor first-up but is far better suited at the mile. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 12 – 2 Suggested Bet – BROTHER’S KEEPER EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,9 1,2,4,5,6,8,9,10 2 1,2,3,6,8,12 Market Market
