Glenn Ingram’s Wednesday Caulfield Preview Posted on October 13, 2026October 13, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram Race 1 MAALEFUSHI was hot and fizzy in the parade at Flemington and ran well behind the bigger more mature Snitzel filly. With that race experience she can pinch an early season 2YO race using her early speed. FABIENNE was the pick of the unraced, Phillip Stokes & Lachie Neindorf combine after a Pak jumpout win, showed a good action when asked to quicken. Hard to split ROYAL PRESS, SOLDI, ACT UP and STONE SKYRIDER coming out of the Caulfield Trials. Selections: 5,4,3,1 Suggested Bets: MAALEFUSHI win Race 2 (Wildcard) Deep race. MISTER WHISKERS is aggressively-placed stepping up to a BM70 after an impressive debut win and looks to have potentially come on further after a recent Pak jumpout. Low draw, should lead and give a sight. REFUSE TO CURTSY is progressive and bolted in her maiden at Kilmore when heavily backed. Maps to land in a trailing position and enjoying a soft run, 1600m suits. WRITTEN EMPIRE won a low maiden race at Bendigo and did so with authority, further upside and expect him to measure up. TRUE REBEL is off a gap between runs, if ready to go deserves respect. HIEARCHY has 59.5kg over the mile, he’ll need to be good. Selections: 5,11,7,6 Suggested Bet: MISTER WHISKERS 1 x 4 Race 3 (Best Value) PORTER had a tough run first-up and stuck on well last start on the firm track. Should cross and get a soft lead in this field and is the one to beat coming right down in class. ROMANTIC ENCOUNTER may pester if they choose to go forward from the widest gate. LOUD CHARLIE is progressive, a long way back and swooped home here last start, freshened since and a quiet jumpout, if he can use the draw early he can have last shot. ESCARPA races well around this circuit and has Shinn from a low draw an advantage. Selections: 1,3,16,4 Suggested Bet: PORTER win Race 4 (Best Bet) LEONCHROI was a sick beat receiver at Mornington, never got a crack at the speed and flew late and through the line. Total forgive. Well-placed to return to the winners stall with a good map and B Shinn in the saddle. AUTUMNHEAT had good market support at Geelong and well-rated in front by Harry Coffey, again maps for a soft lead and perfect draw. They look the two key chances. Minor hopes to FEDERER and BEACH PAD. Selections: 5,11,7,3 Suggested Bet: LEONCHROI win Race 5 BATTLE CRY is a go forward import resuming for Team Hayes and has been doing plenty of work at the jumpouts, expect a forward showing. TEST OF LOVE and YAM both punch forward to apply pressure. BUCCLEUCH can take a winning position from his draw, been on an upward curve this campaign and staying at the 1400m suits. JETT SMASH is a winner, and showed that first-up at Flemington. He’s very genuine, the barrier is a big negative. REAL CLASS resumes for Clint McDonald, best is good enough. Selections: 2,7,1,12 Suggested Bet: Exotics Race 6 YAUSON is the starting point, chasing a hat trick of wins after a game 2nd upon resuming. Can take up the running and prove hard to beat again. EMPEROR TZU is versatile and shown he can race handy to the speed. I suspect they push on from a wide draw and make a race of it. JOHNICH is having a good prep at the trials and on race day and looks set to peak third-up, a profile he’s won off previously. SA visitor FREEDOM FLAME can play a role if Williams pushes forward, in a race lacking depth a good opportunity to repeat her last start win. Selections: 13,1,12,8 Suggested Bet: Exotics Race 7 The speed comes from AMBASSADORIAL, SMOKIN ROMANS and possibly AIR ASSAULT with Shinn aboard ensuring this is truly run, he drops in weight and this may be a set play from the camp, watch betting. DARKBONEE slides in behind the speed from the inside draw, form indifferent since winning fresh, he’s weighted and mapped to strike back. AUTUMN MYSTERY is a horse who can improve sharply 2nd up this campaign, does need it dry. Selections: 6,2,4,10 Suggested Bet: DARKBONEE and AIR ASSAULT Race 8 Speed galore to finish the card. TEN WARRIORS took a long time to break maiden ranks and did so at this course, current 2nd emergency, not pushed out in two jumpouts, the speed on is going to suit and has J Melham legging up. SWIFT FORCE has lightning speed and sustain a gallop, she’ll need to as there is pressure all around her. KING TUT is another fresh up and capable when able to swoop, three jumpouts, should be wound up. SWEETHEATED caught the eye at Pak jumpouts, she too can be competitive fresh. Selections: 15,8,6,3 Suggested Bet: TEN WARRIORS 1 x 4 MULTI: R3#1 place, R4#5 win, R7#6 place.
