Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on August 30, 2018 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 LINCS TIGER (2) was well backed to beat King Of Swing last week but broke in the early stages and then had to work too hard. This is considerably easier and he will be very hard to beat from this draw. ITSNOTOVA (1) finished midfield in the same race and should be in the finish from the pole. ROMAN AVIATOR (6) has won six of his past seven starts in easier company but is ready to tackle a race of this nature. FIZZING (8) was 4th in the King Of Swing race last week but isn’t as well drawn tonight. Tips: 2 1 6 8 Suggested Bet: LINCS TIGER (2) to win. Race 2 DETROIT LILY (12) ran on solidly but couldn’t catch the leaders at her first run back from a spell. She should strip fitter tonight and will be hard to hold out. VEILED SECRET (9) has split the honours with DONTSTOPBELIEVIN (8) at her last two starts and must be considered despite the wide draw. DONTSTOPBELIEVIN (8) has gone to another level with dominant victories at her last two starts but isn’t as well drawn tonight. INNOCENT AFFAIR (5) will give plenty of cheek if she can find the front without working too hard. Tips: 12 9 8 5 Suggested Bet: DETROIT LILY (12) to win. Race 3 VAMPIRO (7) broke through for a well-deserved win in a stand here last week. His previous mobile form was very solid and he should give a great sight again. NATURAL DISASTER (8) has impressively won his past three starts and will be suited if the early tempo is solid. JOHNNY DISCO (5) led throughout to defeat VAMPIRO (7) last start and will be the one to beat if he finds the top again. COURAGE TELLS (1) is racing well and has the speed to lead so will have options in the run. Tips: 7 8 5 1 Suggested Bet: VAMPIRO (7) to win. Race 4 CHICAGO BULL (5) was a soft winner at his first four starts this campaign but was forced to do it tough when an impressive winner last week. He is now racing at his preferred trip and should be winning again. RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN (4) was well supported to beat his stablemate last week and was far from disgraced in finishing 2nd and can fill the quinella spot again. TRICKY STYX (2) had a nice run when 3rd in that race and can be in the money. THE BUCKET LIST (9) will be running on but it will be difficult to make ground. Tips: 5 4 2 9 Suggested Bet: CHICAGO BULL (5) to win. Race 5 SIMBA BROMAC (8) has been impressive in leading throughout to win three of his last four starts. He runs into another smart one and isn’t as well drawn but is still the one to beat. MITCH MAGUIRE (11) has easily won his three starts back from a long break and is ready for the rise in class. MISTER VERSACE (4) and LIVURA (7) both chased hard behind MITCH MAGUIRE (11) in their heat and shouldn’t be far away again. Tips: 8 11 4 7 Suggested Bet: SIMBA BROMAC (8) to win. Race 6 SPEED MAN (1) has won three of his five starts this campaign in stronger company than he meets tonight and looks very hard to beat from the pole. TOUCH OF SUCCESS (6) has blistering gate speed and could make things interesting in the early stages. SAY IT NOW (10) is drawn to get the run of the race and looks a big place chance. ICEENOTHINK (4) was a solid first up winner after breezing but will find this harder. Tips: 1 6 10 4 Suggested Bet: SPEED MAN (1) to win. Race 7 BEAUDIENE BEAUFIGHTA (2) worked too hard in the middle stages when finishing at the rear last start but this looks considerably easier from a perfect gate. KAPTAIN KENNY (3) has been racing extremely consistently from bad barriers and will appreciate this draw tonight. AUSSIE JET (1) was held up for a run in a similar event two starts back and should be thereabouts from the pole. QTOWN RIP ROARING (7) had his chance when a close-up 4th last start but shouldn’t be far away again. Tips: 2 3 1 7 Suggested Bet: BEAUDIENE BEAUFIGHTA (2) to win. Race 8 DODOLICIOUS (7) has a losing sequence of 17 but her last start 2nd to BETTER B CHEVRON (8) was full of merit. She worked to the front and ran along on that occasion with her stablemate on her back but has an advantage at the draw tonight. BETTER B CHEVRON (8) will be fitter for that first-up win but is unlikely to get such a favourable run in transit here. ALFA QUEEN (4) was a solid 2nd at her last start and can be placed. THE SPINSTER (6) ran 3rd behind the favoured pair two starts back and can be in the money again. Tips: 7 8 4 6 Suggested Bet: DODOLICIOUS (7) to win. Race 9 FAKE NEWS (1) overcame a backline draw to win at this track before sitting outside COUNTESS GRACE (8) when 6th to that filly. The draws have been reversed from that clash and she should be able to reverse the result. COUNTESS GRACE (8) was impressive in leading throughout in a similar field but goes from the inside draw to the outside here. KIRSTEN (4) wasn’t fancied at her debut but ran a nice 2nd and must be considered on that effort. HELLO HOTSHOT (2) was a comfortable trial winner in moderate time so watch the market. Tips: 1 8 4 2 Suggested Bet: FAKE NEWS (1) to win. Race 10 HOW GOUDA SHE (1) has improved of late and ran a nice 2nd here last start. She possesses great gate speed and should lead tonight and prove hard to catch in this moderate affair. DELIGHTFUL SHADOW (6) has been placed at four of her past five starts and should be thereabouts again. TRANQUIL CHARLIE (10) is drawn to get the run of the race and could be dangerous late. FIGHT SONG (2) has only limited ability but has been placed at his past four starts and can be in the money again from his nice draw. Tips: 1 6 10 2 Suggested Bet: HOW GOUDA SHE (1) to win.
