Tigers Popular As Outsiders Posted on September 26, 2017June 7, 2018 | Posted by David Shortte Richmond opened up as the outsiders for the AFL Grand Final with TABtouch after their emphatic 36 point victory over the GWS Giants on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers, who are looking to win their first Premiership since 1980 opened up at $2.25 and have since been backed in to $2.20. On the flip side the Adelaide Crows were installed as the $1.65 favourites and have eased out to $1.68. Adelaide were also dominant in their Preliminary final demolition of Geelong eventually recording a 61 point victory. Interestingly both sides head into the match with none of their players having had any previous AFL Grand Final experience. The two sides have met just once so far this season and that was back in Round 6 at the Adelaide Oval when the Crows carved up the Tigers to win by a whopping 76 points. This time around the Tigers will enjoy home ground advantage at the MCG but will that be enough to turn around such a big deficit from when the duo last met? Early money would suggest that there are plenty of TABtouch punters that believe they can. After taking out the Brownlow Medal with a record number of votes overnight Tigers Superstar Dustin Martin has been heavily backed to win another individual award, this time the Norm Smith Medal where his price has been slashed from $5 into $4.50. Other early moves in the Norm Smith market have seen Sam Jacobs and Eddie Betts shorten from $21 into $17, Charlie Cameron trim up from $41 into $21 and Daniel Rioli has also been backed with his price into $21 from it’s opening quote of $29. TABtouch are offering a Norm Smith Medal Special for account holders this weekend “Place a Norm Smith Medal Bet on Saturday’s AFL Grand Final and if your selection is successful, receive a 50% bonus on your winnings up to $50 (online account bets only).” Keep an eye on the TABtouch Blog for further betting news in the buildup to Saturdays AFL Grand Final.
