Greg Hooper’s Northam Preview Posted on May 26, 2016May 27, 2016 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 TWO SILVER TREES started long odds on favourite at her debut back in January at Narrogin however she didn’t appear to handle the tight circuit and never got a crack at them in straight. She resumes from a break and if she brings her trial form she goes very close. PUYSIEUX was enormous in defeat at his most recent start when he tracked wide throughout. From gate 1 he gets a much softer trip. MAMA BEAR has trialled well and Pike takes the ride. GLEN ALBYN can improve on his debut effort. Numbers – 12 – 3 – 11 -6 Suggested Bet – Two Silver Trees and Puysieux RACE 2 HODGE PODGE returned lame last start and has since trialled well. He has a awkward draw to overcome but can still go very close. SPEED TRAP should box seat from gate 2 and look the winner somewhere in the straight. COLOUR ME CRAZY settles handy to the speed and is racing well. DIRECT APPROACH resumes from a spell for a new trainer. He has trialled well. Numbers – 3 – 9 – 10 – 6 Suggested Bet – Hodge Podge each-way RACE 3 Very little form to work with in this maiden and USHERETTE does stand out as the one to beat. She look set to challenge at the furlong last start before copping a big check which killed her chances. DEFIANCY will either lead or breeze and has claims. MISS ROSENDALE was poor last start but if she finds the effort she showed two back she can figure. BLACK LILY needs further but can beat most of these on ability alone. Numbers – 12 – 2 – 13 – 10 Suggested Bet – Usherette win RACE 4 SHADABLAZE looks very close to a win. He gets all the favours from gate 2, should take the lead early in the straight and go very close. FINAL OUTCOME showed plenty of fight when resuming at Kalgoorlie. Pike takes the ride and he should get into a lovely spot in running from his good draw. OPERA BILL ran well at huge prices last start. He’s probably looking for further than this but can win. HALA BELLE resumes off the back of a solid trial effort. Suggested Bet – Shadablaze and Final Outcome Numbers – 6 – 2 – 3 – 11 RACE 5 This is close to a raffle. LOVE TRADE has run well in its last couple of starts. Jarrad Noske goes on and he gets his chance. PAGAN DANCER was very poor last but the drop back in trip should assist. His two first runs were good. MUSGAZE should find the line strongly. NEW ATTIRE sits on the speed and has claims. Suggested Bet – Love Trade each-way Numbers –10 – 5 – 11 – 1 RACE 6 This race looks close to a raffle. JUICING CARROTS is the best horse in the race and he did produce a big first up win last preparation. With the cutaway rail in play Bonie Palise should be able to find the gaps and give him every chance. CHHAYA had no luck in Saturday grade last start. This looks easier. ALMALEO smashed them at this track two starts back. ANGELIC ANGEL next best. Suggested Bet – Juicing Carrots win Numbers 2 – 12 – 10 – 11 RACE 7 There appears very strong speed in this 1000m sprint and hopefully it will set it up nicely for the closing burst of MASSACHUSETTS. She was a model of consistency last preparation eventually shaking her maiden tag at her last run before being tipped out. Harvey retains the ride and she’ll take some holding out. DISCO RIFFIC will appreciate the drop back to 1000m. GRECO ran well in his local debut. PUCK SHAPESHIFTER is consistent and Pike rides. Suggested Bet – Massachusetts win Numbers 9 – 8 – 4 – 3 Race 8 Wide open finish to the program. STARRY DANE looks close to a win. He has been finishing well in all his races this preparation. MAJOR DETAIL got home well last start and can win. SAXOPHONIST finds it hard to win but Pike takes the ride. ALIGHTING was poor last start but his prior maiden looked impressive. Suggested Bet – Starry Dane and Major Detail Numbers 4 – 5 – 6 – 8 QUADDIE RACE 5 – 1 – 4 – 5 – 8- 10 – 11 RACE 6 – 2 – 7 – 10 – 11 – 12 – 13 RACE 7 – 8 – 9 RACE 8 – 1 – 4 – 5 – 6 – 8 Bet Now
