Gun Queensland sprinter Buffering reached international stardom when he stormed to a brilliant victory in the Al Quoz Sprint in Dubai.

Buffering ran a career best 56.34sec. for the $750,000 Group 1 feature, finishing three-quarters of a length ahead of local favourite Ertijaal with Hong Kong’s Peniaphoboa third.

After 18 attempts to win his maiden Group 1, Buffering has now won seven races at the top level from his past 13 attempts.

While Buffering took on the international stage, back home, Chautauqua, stamped himself as a genuine star with an exhilarating win in last week’s TJ Smith Trophy at Randwick.

After being in an impossible position half way down the straight, Chautauqua unleashed his trademark finish and reeled in a quality field before drawing away to win comfortably.

Robert Heathcote, who puts the polish on Buffering and Chautauqua co trainer, Wayne Hawkes, caught up with Tabradio’s David Shortte and Richard Bell and spoke about their respective charges super wins.
