Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on January 30, 2024January 30, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 LIMBURG resumes gelded with winkers replacing blinkers. He has trialled well and his fourth placing in the Stutt Stakes reads well. TYCOONETTE has been jumping out impressively for her debut. ET TU BRUTE has been gelded during his break. He has jumped out well to resume with blinkers off. CLEVER ILLUSION chased well first up and should appreciate the rise in trip. Selections: 5,11,4,3 Suggested Bet: Qu/Ex 5 & 11 Race 2 RAIKIKOE responded well when asked for an effort in a recent jumpout and looks ready to make his presence felt on debut. GYPSY BEAUTY has also been jumping out well for her debut. FOREMAN’S GULLY is another debutant that has looked good at the jumpouts, particularly his most recent hit out with winkers on. ATTAIN comes through a strong maiden at Pakenham and will strip fitter third up. Selections: 6,9,3,2 Suggested Bet: Small bet Raikoke to win Race 3 HEY FAT CAT recorded fast time to win first up with blinkers on and looks capable of coping with the rise in grade. GUNDAROO beat a promising horse in Acid Wash last start and has trialled well since. IMMORTALITY has been consistent in his career to date and gets blinkers on. METRICAL has jumped out nicely to resume but his form card suggests he may be better with the sting out of the ground. THE OPEN looked good winning on debut and has claims in potentially a strong race. Selections: 5,1,2,4 Suggested Bet: Hey Fat Cat to win Race 4 Small field and a competitive race. TYCOON BEC is racing well. She’s unbeaten here and this race could set up well for her to control the speed. HOT SUSPECT is also racing well and will be strong late. COMMANDER HARRY was back to something like his best two start back and looks suited coming back in distance. CHEVALIER DU FAU is another that could be suited racing on speed. BLAZING REBEL and PEARL RAIN complete the field and both have a case. Selections: 3,6,1,5 Suggested Bet: Tycoon Bec to win Race 5 UNTHINKABLE is building a handy record and looks suited stepping up to 1600m second up. ELOPED chased hard last time and may settle more forward from a handy draw. FINE REBEL is fit, consistent and not badly treated after the claim. CHARISSE hit the line strongly after ending up in an awkward spot last start. Selections: 3,6,2,4 Suggested Bet: 3,6,2 & 4 for the quaddie Race 6 THE DEVIL IN HER has upside and ticked the firm ground box last start. She’ll be giving VINNIE’S SPIRIT a start but appears to have the turn of foot to real him in. PODENTE ran well in a strong form race last time and should bet a soft run. JABBAWOCKEEZ is a superior wet tracker but ran well first up and will strip fitter. Selections: 6,7,5,4 Suggested Bet: The Devil In Her to win Race 7 MY MATE SONNY endured a tough run at Geelong and under their was plenty of merit in his effort under circumstances. His previous form through Plenty of Ammo, Magnupur and Who Dares reads well. THUNDER POINT will be close to his peak and racing in good form. MORRYL MORAL has been consistent to date and should strip fitter for his last start victory. VILNIUS has progressed well through his first campaign and is drawn for a soft run. Selections: 2,7,4,9 Suggested Bet: My Mate Sonny each way Race 8 Good race to finish. MASTER MONTARO has been good in his two runs since returning from Hong Kong and will appreciate the step up to 1300m. LANG PARK is racing in great form and has the tactical speed to offset the wide draw. EBONY KING races well here and will strip fitter third up. EYE OF THE EAGLE has been jumping out impressively to resume and is a previous first up winner. BIG WATCH hit the line strongly first up but faces the challenge of rising from 1000-1300m. Selections: 4,3,1,7 Suggested Bet: Master Montaro each way Market Market
