Warren Huntly’s Saturday Sandown Preview Posted on January 23, 2025January 23, 2025 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 HOLA AMIGOS races well here, he didn’t have the best of luck resuming and can hopefully hold a spot behind the speed. LIBERAMI hit the line strongly first up and is suited by the rise to 1400m. HE’S BESET was caught wide first up and maps for a better run. PORTER had the favours last time but is fit and can make his own luck. Selections: 4,7,1,8 Suggested Bet: Hola Amigos each way Same Race Multi: Hola Amigos (Top 2) + Liberami (Top 4) Race 2 SIR ATLAS may have been looking for 1600m second up and has jumped out well since that run. REVELARE is lightly raced with upside and will strip fitter for his impressive second up win. STEAL THE SUN was luckless last time and may settle closer form the low draw. BROOKLYN BOSS can improve on last week’s effort. Selections: 1,7,11,9 Suggested Bet: Sir Atlas each way Race 3 SHINING SMILE looks hard to beat, he brings some strong race day form and has jumped out well between runs. Of the debutants, MENSHEVIK and OLATUNDE have jumped out together and both shown talent. REDDERS won a recent jumpout riding the speed. Selections: 1,3,4,5 Suggested Bet: Shining Smile to win Race 4 Plenty to learn with so many on debut. WILTSHIRE SQUARE chased well behind PALM ANGEL on debut and both have jumped out in good style to resume. PRICE TAG showed talent in her first prep and is another to be jumping out well. MY GLADIOLA, who won the most recent jumpout Price Tag contested, along with MISS OLE, are two debutants to look good at the jumpouts Selections: 4,2,5,13 Suggested Bet: Wiltshire Square each way Race 5 Should be a solid tempo despite the relatively small field. MRS CHRISSIE will appreciate that tempo and will be strong late. PONDALOWIE has some tactical versatility, she appeared to charge winning a recent jumpout but should settle better under these conditions. FICKLE will be part of the speed but is flying for the new stable and deserves her crack at this grade. PHILOSOPHER will also be part of the speed and should appreciate coming back to 1000m. Selections: 2,6,4,3 Suggested Bet: Mrs Chrissie to win Race 6 INEVITABLE AWARD looks a progressive stayer and gives the impression this trip will suit. SAMUEL LANGHORNE may have been a bit flat second up and has been given time to freshen up. KINGS VALLEY was luckless in an easier race last start but is fit and racing well. MISS TARZY will need some luck from the draw but should be at peak fitness and is suited stepping up in trip. Selections: 10,1,8,3 Suggested Bet: Inevitable ward each way Race 7 SMOKIN’ PRINCESS has retuned in great form, she may have to settle back from the draw but will be strong late. LE ZEBRA was luckless first up and with a clean start can push forward from the wide draw. MY BROTHERS KEEPER raced in restricted room first up but still ran well and the step up to 1600m suits. FARHH FLUNG is fit and consistent. ONE LONG DAY is going well for the new stable and looks capable of measuring up to the stronger company. Selections: 4,5,10,6 Suggested Bet: Smokin’ Princess each way Race 8 CHORLTON LANE was luckless last time, he’s jumped out well between runs and should get a decent run behind a solid speed. AZTEC RULER brought some solid WA form to his good Flemington run and should appreciate 1400m. JUST FOLK ran well first up in the same race as Chorlton Lane and has also jumped out in good style since that run. COASTWATCH maps for a good run and shapes as the other key winning chance. Selections: 4,2,1,3 Suggested Bet: Chorlton Lane to win Race 9 Competitive race. ROYAL INSIGNIA takes another rise in grade but has genuine upside and should get his preferred dry surface. BAND OF BROTHERS was beaten by a progressive galloper first up and will strip fitter. TROPICUS has jumped out well to resume. He’s another with plenty of upside and seems to race better in the anti-clockwise direction. ANOTHER PROPHET is a Group 1 winner, not sure the inside draw is ideal but she’ll be charging late. ODINSON is another with upside to jump out in good style. WONDER BOY gets blinkers on after a satisfactory return. Selections: 7,1,4,3 Suggested Bet: Royal Insignia each way Race 10 Doubt NEW YORK LUSTRE is any value in early markets but she’s retuned in great form and gives the impression getting back to 1200m will suit. It’s a very even race outside her. BETTER LINK got the right run to win on his return from Hong Kong an maps for another good run. OVERACTIVE has jumped out well to resume and will be strong late. Not sure what to make of SUNSHINEINMYPOCKET’S recent jumpouts but he looked progressive prior to having excuses before a break. VAIL MOUNTAIN and HOLY RACKET are among the other hopes. Selections: 13,11,12,8 Suggested Bet: New York Lustre to win Market Market
