Warren Huntly’s Saturday Flemington Preview

Race 1

MARBLE ARCH is racing in great form, she gets back down in the weights after the claim and may find herself right on the speed. WINGS OF SONG will appreciate stepping up to 1600m and has been kept fresh with a couple of quiet jumpouts since her strong first up win. MUNHAMEK will also appreciate stepping up to 1600m and will be strong late. MOLLYNICKERS has raced herself back into form and may settle closer in the small field.

Suggested Bet: Quinella/Exacta 3 & 4

Race 2

Plenty to learn. HEAVENLY CONQUEST responded well to win a recent jumpout and should be strong over the concluding stages. CAVALRY GIRL was beaten by an impressive winner on debut and will be improved by the run. HOT WHISKERS looked good winning on debut, it could be worth noting that Cavalry Girl was a short-priced favourite for that race prior to her late scratching due to transport difficulties. ETHEREUM GIRL and NO LIMITATION are two debutants that have trialled/jumped out well.

Suggested Bet: Heavenly Conquest each way

Race 3

TOMBA has looked good winning his last two in NSW and should relish the rise to 1600m. CENTENNIAL PARK has also impressed winning his last couple and was strong at 1600m last time. MACEDON ROSE was expected to win on debut and did so in the manner of a filly that can measure up here. SEINDEEL has been good at all three runs to date and is another that gives the impression 1600m will be ok. ZORRO’S FLIGHT has been good controlling the tempo at his last two and can give a sight again.

Suggested Bet: Playing multiples with 3,1 & 9

Race 4

SAMANGU tackles the straight for the first time. She’s building an impressive record and although the margin was narrow there was plenty of merit in her last start victory.  DAZZLING LUCY swaps winker for blinkers after having no luck in the small field last start. MIGHTY chased an in-form galloper last start and looks suited by the rise to 1100m. LUNA CAT, MATRIAL DREAMS and SHAIME have claims.

Suggested Bet: Samangu to win

Race 5

SUBRISING is capable of sprinting well fresh and if her recent jumpout is any guide, she has returned in good order. WOLFY has been freshened, he gets blinkers on, winkers off and should be charging late. LAYERUPONLAYER won well here first up and has obvious claims again. GRONKOWSKI seemed to appreciate being fresh over this course and distance last time and has a case.

Same Race Multi: Subrising (Top 2) + Wolfy (Top 4)

Race 6

VELOCE CARRO races well down the straight and has jumped out in good style to resume. LEGIO TEN is a query runner. He resumes for the new stable, with decent straight form and has jumped out in good fashion. MAJOR SHARE is promising, he gets to 1200m for the first time but his upside is hard to overlook. WIGGUM is another with decent straight form that is in the game.

Suggested Bet: Veloce Carro each way

Race 7

MANOLO BLING will strip fitter for her first up run and wasn’t suited by the race shape on that occasion. LA VIE EN and SPRING AIR are both lightly raced and promising. The former impressed winning first up and the latter has jumped out in great style to resume. MISS COTOLETTA hit the line strongly first up and should appreciate the extra 100m. KIRRIBILLI has jumped out quite well and is another that is lightly raced and shown promise.

Suggested Bet: Manolo Bling each way

Race 8

DEAKIN looks the one to beat. He had no luck at his local debut then impressed steeping up to this trip last star. It looks very even behind him. BOLD SOUL may have been a bit flat second up and can improve. That form ties in FAME, BELTORO and others. SHAIYHAR has been kept fresh and may be more explosive coming back to 2000m.

Suggested Bet: Deakin to win

Race 9

Very even contest. BRAZEN LADY maps for a good run and should appreciate getting back to 1400m. LE FERRARI will strip fitter third up, he’s a winner here over this trip and can make his own luck. LETHAL THOUGHTS did enough first up. RED PHANTOM has jumped out well since his encouraging return and has claims should he gain a start. PASCERO may need some luck from the draw but races well over this course and distance. VERDAD needs another win but has been freshened and has claims.

Suggested Bet: Brazen Lady each way

Race 10

DREAM ALL DAY took luck out of the equation to win last time. She gets a nose roll on and may be ridden to show more of her turn of foot in the big field. ET TU BRUTE is racing consistently MAISY has returned in good form and maps for a good run. ZAMBEZI KHAN . BLUSHING TYCOON gave a sight in a key lead up race but the wide draw makes it a bit tougher. REVELARE impressed winning an easier race last start but should relish the step up to 1800m.
