Warren Huntly’s Saturday Flemington Preview Posted on October 6, 2023October 6, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 BEWS copped late interference last start in a similar race and looked unlucky. SUPARAZI comes back in trip but will be strong late and gets blinkers on. BOLDINHO is fit, racing well and can measure up to this slightly stronger company. OUR LAST CASH has shown an affinity for racing down the straight and is proven out to 1400m. Selections: 15,4,11,2 Suggested Bet: Bews each way Same Race Multi – Bews (Top 2) + Suparazi (Top 3) Race 2 Obviously plenty to learn with a field of debutantes that have all shown talent and trials/jumpouts. BLUE ILLUSION jumped out well down the straight and seems an early running type. BODYGUARD has trialled well in Sydney alongside last week’s Breeders Plate winner. WOLFGANG appeared to have plenty to offer in a recent jumpout down the straight. ROYAL HILL closed of a jumpout down the straight in the manner of a horse that will be strong late. Selections: 2,3,8,7 Suggested Bet: Happy to look and learn Race 3 RIFF ROCKET showed early talent down here and has returned in good form in NSW. He looks hard to beat with a recent run over this trip under his belt. APULIA caught the eye last start. He was then a late scratching at the barriers here but has jumped out nicely since and gets blinkers on. RIRPOAR was expected to win last time but did so in good style and gives the impression the trip will suit. MICKIO has form that ties in with SUNSETS and both look staying types. Selections: 6,5,8,17 Suggested Bet: Riff Rocket to win Race 4 LEGACIES may have been ridden too close last start and her previous form was strong. She’s drawn to be ridden colder from the wide draw. POIFECT, DE SONIC BOOM and SUBRISING all ran well in a key lead up race and shape as though 1600m will be ok. NODACHI stuck on well after riding the speed in the same race as Legacies. Selections: 2,13,1,8 Suggested Bet: Legacies each way Race 5 ARCHO NACHO won well down the straight last time defeating I AM UNSTOPPABLE, who may have had excuses with the pair coming together mid-race. KANDINSKY ABSTRACT comes through the same race, he drew the wrong spot that day and gets blinkers applied. STRETAN ANGEL has a powerful finish and is drawn to have clear air late. LIBERTAD had excuses last start. Selections: 4,3,7,9 Suggested Bet: Archo Nacho each way Race 6 PRINCESS GRACE looks the obvious with her recent solid G1 WFA performances. SKEW WIFF brings G1 WFA form from NZ and defeated a quality field last start. LIFE LESSONS provided some opposition to Amelia’s Jewl second up and will strip fitter. CLIMBING STAR was below her best last time and is capable of much better. Selections: 3,1,10,14 Suggested Bet: Princess Grace to win Race 7 FIRST IMMORTAL gains a start and should prove hard to beat with any luck from the draw. SHERAZ hit the line well second up and is drawn to secure a good run. ALASKAN GOD stuck on well in the same race as Sheraz and may find a more forward position from the inside draw. ATHABASCAN has shown tactical versatility at his last two victories and has strong claims. FUTURE HISTORY should make his own luck. Selections: 18,3,10,7 Suggested Bet: First Immortal to win Race 8 ROMANTIC WARRIOR is obviously a high class galloper with impeccable Hong Kong and international form lines. Despite the weight penalty he looks the one to beat. SOULCOMBE has returned in great form and measured up well at WFA last time. WEST WIND BLOWS is another international with outstanding form lines and a great record at the trip. OSIPENKO is shaping as though he will appreciate getting back out to 2000m. FRANCESCO GUARDI will appreciate stepping up to 2000m. Selections: 1,11,5,7 Suggested Bet: Romantic Warrior to win Race 9 C’EST MAGIQUE has handled the straight well previously and jumped out nicely since her first up run behind Benedetta. That form ties in STAR PATROL, who also likes the straight track and will strip fitter for his first up win. JIGSAW has been given three jumpouts leading into his first up run and looks to be going well. C’est Magique was held together behind him in his latest jumpout. ZOUTORI will strip fitter for his first up run behind Star Patrol. Selections: 14,2,1,7 Suggested Bet: C’est Magique each way Race 10 Competitive finish. TAMERLANE will strip fitter second up and the form through his last run reads well with Rediener subsequently winning the Epsom. UMGAWA chased well in a race dominated on speed last start. CHARTERHOUSE stuck on ok first up and will appreciate stepping up in trip. THE FORTUNE TELLER, MINSK MOMENT and JUST FOLK are among the other chances. Selections: 5,9,4,13 Suggested Bet: Tamerlane each way Market Market
