Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on November 7, 2019 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 OCEAN RIDGE (6) has been a costly commodity for punters this time in but looks to get his chance tonight. He blew the standing start but made up plenty of ground to finish 2nd to Gee Jay Kay on Monday and this looks a suitable assignment. SERGEANT OATS (1) has finished runner-up at three of his past four starts and should give a great sight from the pole. JACK WILLIAM (10) was a good last start winner and will enjoy a lovely run on the pegs. THE DALI EXPRESS (3) had no luck last start and can be in the money here. Tips: 6 1 10 3 Suggested Bet: OCEAN RIDGE (6) to win. Race 2: MAD ROBBER (10) wasn’t far away when 6th to Convert Denario in much stronger company here last week. He will need some luck from this draw but has the best form in the race. ROCK ME OVER (1) won in good time over the same distance from this draw last month and must be respected tonight. COMMANDER CHAPEL (6) will strip fitter for his first run in 30 months here last week and has plenty of ability. MATTJESTIC STAR (4) is racing without luck and can improve tonight but isn’t suited by the staying journey. Tips: 10 1 6 4 Suggested Bet: MAD ROBBER (10) to win. Race 3: BILL HALEY (8) crossed the Nullabor with a big reputation and recorded a first-up win but was unimpressive in beating Rock Me Over. He then lived up to the hype when he produced a dazzling burst of speed to defeat Carrera Mach and looks the one to beat despite the rise in class. HY LEEXCITING (4) is racing extremely consistently and will give them something to catch if he can cross at the start. THEO AVIATOR (7) has trialled nicely for his return and has plenty of ability. SON OF A TIGER (5) is always dangerous if he gets the right run. Tips: 8 4 7 5 Suggested: HY LEEXCITING (4) each way. Race 4: CARTER MICHEAL (5) has been placed at 12 of his past 14 starts and was a brave 2nd here last week in quick time. He looks better suited tonight and should fight out the finish again. MIGHTY SANTANA (11) was first-up when narrowly beaten by Major Pocket and CARTER MICHEAL (5) and will be fitter for that run. EL HOMBRE (2) has only been placed once in his last 12 starts but can be a big improver from this draw. ATHABASCAN (3) is racing well and can win this if the breaks go his way. Tips: 5 11 2 3 Suggested Bet: CARTER MICHEAL (5) to win. Race 5: EL JACKO (1) ran on strongly when a 1.55.2 winner at his last start. His previous form was extremely consistent and is the one to beat from the pole. ANA MALAK (8) impressed at his return to WA racing when facing the breeze and battling on gamely to finish 2nd to VAMPIRO (6). He is probably the best horse in the field but has a wide draw to overcome. VAMPIRO (6) defeated a similar field last start but isn’t as well drawn tonight. OUR CORELLI (11) hasn’t had much luck of late and will be charging home from this barrier. Tips: 1 8 6 11 Suggested Bet: VAMPIRO (6) each way. Race 6: OUR ALFIE ROMEO (3) resumed with a solid win over JUST ROCKON BYE (8) and then ran a solid 2nd to the same mare. She has drawn inside that rival tonight and looks the one to beat. CRYSTAL SPARKLES (2) ran on determinedly to defeat Vincenzo Peruggia here last week and looks a major player from her lovely draw. JUST ROCKON BYE (8) is flying but the wide draw makes it a tough task here. PARISIAN PARTYGIRL (1) is drawn to get a lovely run and looks a good place chance. Tips: 3 2 8 1 Suggested Bet: OUR ALFIE ROMEO (3) to win. Race 7: ROBBIE EASTON (5) faced the breeze when an impressive winner here last week and this field is no stronger. JOE WITH THE FLOW (3) led throughout to defeat Bletchley Park three starts back and will give the favourite something to catch if he finds the front. VALBONNE (7) ran a solid 5th here last week and shouldn’t be far away again. ABSOLUTION (1) is drawn to get a lovely run and can be placed. Tips: 5 3 7 1 Suggested Bet: ROBBIE EASTON (5) to win. Race 8: SPACE JUNK (11) returned to his best with three consecutive victories before working too hard in the first lap at his last start. He has had a month off since that effort and is clearly the one to beat tonight. TWILIGHT SAGA (1) is a reliable beginner who will have options in the run and shouldn’t be far away. CARRERA MACH (9) blew the start at his last effort from the tapes but will run a race if he steps smoothly. DESTINED TO RULE (8) caused an upset here four starts back and is always capable with the right trip. Tips: 11 1 9 8 Suggested Bet: SPACE JUNK (11) to win. Race 9: TAROONA BROMAC (2) has won six of his seven career starts, including all three since crossing the Tasman. He goes up in class for this assignment but is clearly the one to beat from his nice draw. ROBB STARK (3) continues to race well without winning and looks the only danger to the favourite. VIVERE DAMORE (7) is racing well but the wide draw will make it tough. ADDA COURAGE (4) will find this harder than his last start win but can be placed from this draw. Tips: 2 3 7 4 Suggested Bet: TAROONA BROMAC (2) to win. Race 10: LORD LIAM (8) has won his last seven on end and warmed up for this with a recent trial win over the pacers. He has the gatespeed to overcome the wide draw and is clearly the one to beat. LIGHTNING CALDER (7) has ran solid placings at his last two starts and should be thereabouts again. IM NOT EYRE (4) and TENNO SHO (5) ran 1st and 2nd here last week and both can play a part tonight. Tips: 8 7 4 5 Suggested Bet: LORD LIAM (8) to win. Market Market
