Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on February 1, 2024February 1, 2024 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 ALL IS WELL (9) drops in class after contesting the Nights Of Thunder series and he is capable of overcoming the wide draw. TRAVELBAN (6) has won his last two starts in easier company but his sectionals indicate that he is ready for the rise in class. MARBEECHSAM (2) has ran on well to be placed in his last two starts and enjoys a barrier advantage over his main rivals tonight. HEEZ GOOD AS GOLD (5) led throughout to win consecutive races before being held up at his last start and will give cheek if he can cross at the start. Tips: 9 6 2 5 Suggested Bet: MARBEECHSAM (2) each way. Race 2 THE MIKI TAKER (5) didn’t race at his best last time in but he was taking on stronger fields and he should give a great sight first-up if he closer to his best. POST GAME (8) was sent out a $1.16 favourite when a narrow winner here last week and has demonstrated the ability to overcome bad draws in Victoria. OUR SHELLEY BEACH (4) has been placed in his last two starts and has the advantage of being drawn inside his two main rivals. FLYING RUMOUR (7) was sent out at big odds when a good 2nd here last week from a similar draw. Tips: 5 8 4 7 Suggested Bet: THE MIKI TAKER (5) to win. Race 3 SUGAR APPLE (2) has disappointed recently but he finally gets a nice draw and he should be a big improver tonight. SUGAR STREET (7) is the class runner of the field and he is capable of overcoming his wide draw if he is ready to go first-up. OUR STAR WATCH (1) has finished just behind the placegetters at his last few starts but can be in the money from the pole. ROCKNROLL SASS (9) has disappointed at her first three runs back from a spell but drops in class tonight and can surprise. Tips: 2 7 1 9 Suggested Bet: SUGAR APPLE (2) to win. Race 4 SOLESSO MATUCA (1) battled bad draws in the Nights Of Thunder series but showed plenty in those efforts. He displayed very good gate speed in Victoria and this looks an ideal assignment to open his winning account in WA. SHOWPONY (2) was blocked for a run here last week after winning his previous three starts and should be right in the finish again. ALCOPONY (4) was only 6.5m from the winner in the Nights Of Thunder final here last week and should make his presence felt. CLASSIC CHOICE (5) is racing well and can be placed. Tips: 1 2 4 5 Suggested Bet: SOLESSO MATUCA (1) to win. Race 5 OUR MAESTOSO (7) brought up his 11th win from 13 career starts when winning the Trotters Sprint first-up and must be considered as the one to beat again. EVAS IMAGE (10) has gone to a new level this time in with three consecutive victories and a game 2nd at her last start and has been placed in 14 of her 15 stands. TRICKY RIC (13) and PATCHED (12) aren’t suited under the handicap conditions but are capable with the right cart into the race. Tips: 7 10 13 12 Suggested Bet: OUR MAESTOSO (7) to win. Race 6 COWBOYS N BANDITS (6) had been disappointing this time in but bounced back to his best with a 1.55.6 win at his last start and is clearly the one to beat. JUSTLIKE TURBO (1) followed a good 3rd at this track with a wayward performance but he has trialled nicely since and can give some cheek from the pole. FRANKIE J HOLDEN (3) has only been placed once in his nine starts this time in but his recent efforts have been full of merit and he can be placed. LOIUE LEBEAU (11) is racing consistently and has a nice trailing draw. Tips: 6 1 3 11 Suggested Bet: JUSTLIKE TURBO (1) each way. Race 7 OCTOBER REIGN (4) crossed from a wide draw when 3rd in quick timer here last week and will be hard to beat if he can find the front tonight. BURGHLEY SHARD (1) worked his way to the front when an impressive winner here two starts back and will be in the firing line throughout from the pole draw. REGAL CHEVAL (10) has run two nice placings for his new stable and is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs tonight. THE WATCH MAKER (3) couldn’t get into the race here last week but can figure on his previous form. Tips: 4 1 10 3 Suggested Bet: OCTOBER REIGN (4) to win. Race 8 ARDENS HORIZON (4) finished just behind the placegetters in a heat and final of the Nights Of Thunder series and will be hard to beat if she steps cleanly from the tapes. WATCHING OUR COIN (7) overcame a 30m handicap to win the Northam Cup to maintain his great form and is the obvious danger. FLEUR DE MAQUIS (3) split the favoured pair two starts back under these conditions and can play a part again. DEEORSE (1) was un upset winner from the stand here three starts back and should be prominent from the pole. Tips: 4 7 3 1 Suggested Bet: ARDENS HORIZON (4) to win. Race 9 PINNY TIGER (1) hasn’t won a race for over 12 months but his recent trial indicated he was back close to his best and he should beat this field comfortably. TIGER ROYAL (5) has been placed in seven of his past eight starts and looks the danger if there is one. THE KRAKEN (10) chased hard when 2nd here last week and will be a great place chance if he can hold the favourite’s back. LAMANDIER (2) is the likely beneficiary if THE KRAKEN (10) can’t hold up and he will be a good place chance if he finds the pegs. Tips: 1 5 10 2 Suggested Bet: PINNY TIGER (1) to win. Race 10 RUMOUR HAS IT (5) won a heat before only knocking up late in the final of the Nights Of Thunder and will be hard to beat if she can find the front tonight. THREE RUMOURS (6) was a strong winner over RUMOUR HAS IT (5) before doing things wrong here last week and is the obvious danger. BEYOND THE SEA (4) hasn’t performed at her best this time in but will strip fitter and has shown she is up to this class. ALTA QUEEN (3) is racing well and can be placed. Tips: 5 6 4 3 Suggested Bet: RUMOUR HAS IT (5) to win. Market Market
