Race 1

ZEPHYRA (9) has been working to her best and was a strong winner from the breeze against a similar field at her last start. She is drawn poorly again but is still the one to beat. HUNT THE MAGIC (1) ran a nice 2nd in an easier field at her last start and she can figure from the pole at her third run back from a spell. HALLE HUNTER (3) has impressed with dominant wins at her first two race starts and is ready for the rise in class. UNLUCKY (4) was only beaten a head by ZEPHYRA (9) at her last start and should be thereabouts again.

Race 2

PAUL EDWARD (11) was a 1.54.2 winner two starts back before being unsuited at his last start and has a nice trailing draw tonight. SUGAR APPLE (9) has improved in each start since crossing the Nullabor and was a very impressive 1.56.6 winner from a similar barrier at his last start. ADDA SPOILT MAJOR (1) had to go too quick in the early stages and knocked up when 4th here last week and will give cheek if he gets an easier time out in front. FLYING RUMOUR (10) has led throughout to win three of his four starts this time in and will enjoy a soft run on the pegs here.

Race 3

ALL IS WELL (2) ran on from near the rear when 3rd to Crowd Control here last week and should give a great sight from his nice barrier tonight. TAKING THE MIKI (10) has been unplaced at her past five starts but she has been racing without luck and will charging home if she sees daylight at the right time. IMA FIVESTAR GENERAL (7) chased hard when 2nd to Lavra Joe in 1.52.9 at his last start and will appreciate the huge drop in class. RUPERT OF LINCOLN (6) has worked hard at his last three starts for one win and two 2nds and should make his presence felt again.

Suggested Bet: TAKING THE MIKI (10) each way.

Race 4

LAVRA JOE (7) resumed with a 1.52.9 all-the-way win before facing the breeze when a game 3rd to minstrel in 1.54.7 here last week. He should strip fitter for that effort and is clearly the one to beat. BLITZEMBYE (2) has been placed in three of his last four starts and will give cheek if he can find an easy lead. ARMA EINSTEIN (1) has been placed in his last four starts and did beat home LAVRA JOE (7) here last week. MACHNIFICENT (8) has won three of his last four starts and will find this harder but will be charging home if there is a solid tempo.

Race 5

MACHS LEGACY (1) was first-up from a spell when he overcame a backline draw to finish 3rd in good time at Pinjarra. He should strip fitter tonight and appeals as the one to beat from the pole draw. MIGHTHAVTIME (3) was placed in six consecutive events before breaking through for a well-deserved win here last week an looks a major player again. SOVRANA (5) didn’t handle the pressure when a beaten favourite at her last start but must be considered on her previous form when driven with a sit. FLEUR DU MAQUIS (2) goes up in class but is well drawn and can be thereabouts at good each way odds.

Suggested Bet: MACHS LEGACY (1) to win.

Race 6

ARMA XFACTOR (4) faced the breeze when a strong 3rd in the Christmas Gift here last week and appeals as the one to beat in this field. MY ULTIMATE CHEVRON (8) trialled nicely before being driven outside of his comfort zone when finishing at the rear in that event but can improve sharply tonight. MIDDLEPAGE (2) faced the breeze when 6th to Machnificent at his last start and can make his presence felt here. FIREROCKFIREROLL (1) led throughout to beat a weaker field here last week but will have to improve to win this event.

Suggested Bet: ARMA XFACTOR (4) to win.

Race 7

CARANA (8) failed in a mobile event here last week but looks the one to beat on his previous stand form. WATCHING OUR COIN (11) is first-up without a trial but did beat Tenzing Bromac last time in and must be respected. COOPER (6) caught the eye with a fast-finishing 2nd at Pinjarra and looks the best of the front-line brigade. AMERICAN BULLITT (7) wasn’t suited last start but loves the stand and should be charging home at good each way odds.

Suggested Bet: CARANA (8) to win.

Race 8

CALIENTE (2) is a consistent type who was a strong winner in good time at his last start and looks the one to beat tonight. ILLAWONG MUSTANG (1) has been unplaced in his past ten starts but his last effort was full of merit and he can improve from the pole. BELLEZZA NERA (6) hasn’t performed at his best in his last three starts but will be suited if there is a solid tempo. THE KRAKEN (3) was held up for a run here last week and should be prominent throughout tonight.
