Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on September 16, 2021September 16, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 ALICE KAY (1) is yet to open her winning account in WA despite being fancied in most of her starts. She gets the opportunity to lead from the pole and the opportunity to find the winners’ circle. THE WHITE RABBIT (3) recorded back-to-back victories before being unable to make ground in a leader dominated event here last week and is the obvious danger. ALLWOOD GLOW (2) is racing consistently and shouldn’t be far away from this barrier. MASTER LEIGHTON (10) is drawn to trail the polemarker and can be placed. Tips: 1 3 2 10 Suggested Bet: ALICE KAY (1) to win. Race 2 VIVERE DAMOUR (2) raced well last time in and put up some good performances in strong company. She warmed up for this assignment with an impressive Byford trial victory and looks set for a profitable campaign. REGAL CHEVAL (1) has faced the breeze and finished 2nd at his last two starts in weaker company and should be thereabouts from the pole draw. VESPA (8) is drawn poorly but drops in class on his last start 4th to Magnificent Storm. TYLER BRETT (4) has brilliant gate speed and will give a sight if he crosses at the start. Tips: 2 1 8 4 Suggested Bet: VIVERE DAMOUR (2) to win. Race 3 JASPERVELLABEACH (7) has a tough draw to overcome but is the class runner of the field and will be hard to hold out if he gets the right trip. ILLAWONG MUSTANG (1) has finished midfield at his past two starts but looks a big improver from the pole tonight. WHOSWHOINTHEZOO (2) disappointed at his last start but must be considered from this draw on his previous consistent form. ALTA RHETT (6) is a capable type and should be ready to show his best at his fifth run back from a spell. Tips: 7 1 2 6 Suggested Bet: JASPERVELLABEACH (7) to win. Race 4 ALTA ENGEN (9) was a brave 3rd in a stronger field before being retired from the event at his last start. He has the strength to overcome the wide draw and should give a great sight. SHADOW ROLL (5) has been placed in all four starts this time in and should be thereabouts again. WALSH (6) followed an impressive 2nd at Bunbury with a comfortable victory here last week and looks ready for the rise in class. WHATABRO (4) has led throughout to win his last two starts and must be considered despite the rise in class. Tips: 9 5 6 4 Suggested Bet: WALSH (6) each way. Race 5 MAGNIFICENT STORM (10) took his record to 17 wins from 19 career starts when defeating VAMPIRO (7) here last week. He starts from the backline tonight but is still clearly the one to beat. VAMPIRO (7) got within a head of the favourite here last week and looks the leader and obvious danger. GALACTIC STAR (4) is the other class runner of the field and can play a part with the right run. MIRACLE MOOSE (3) ran a nice 2nd to MAGNIFICENT STORM (10) recently and can be placed. Tips: 10 7 4 3 Suggested Bet: MAGNIFICENT STORM (10) to win. Race 6 ALTA LOUISA (1) has won three of her four starts this time in, including a narrow victory over BORN TO BOOGIE (9) at her last start. She has the barrier advantage again over that mare and is the one to beat. BORN TO BOOGIE (9) will strip fitter for her first-up 2nd to the favourite and is the obvious danger despite the wide draw. MINI MINE YET (8) has disappointed at her last three starts but would be a major player if she can reproduce her two previous efforts. DIAMOND DOVE (2) can be placed from her nice draw. Tips: 1 9 8 2 Suggested Bet: ALTA LOUISA (1) to win. Race 7 THE KRAKEN (3) has finished midfield at his last four starts but hasn’t had much luck in those runs. He draws nicely in a weak field tonight and looks a big improver. INFATUATION (5) has been placed in one of his three starts this time in and should be ready to show his best. RABCHENKO (7) will appreciate a significant drop in class and should be charging home. OUR SEQUEL (6) is racing consistently in stronger fields and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 3 5 7 6 Suggested Bet: THE KRAKEN (3) to win. Race 8 IN THE SPOTLIGHT (5) is first-up without a trial but has drawn inside his main rivals and appeals as the one to beat on his last start win in the Diamond Classic. SWINGBAND (8) won in 1.54.2 on debut before doing things wrong in the Golden Slipper and will be fitter for his first-up win against moderate opposition. RAMBO RABBIT (6) impressed with a strong 1.56.4 win from the breeze at his last start and has race-fitness on his side. IMA SOCIALITE (1) doesn’t have the class of the three favourites but looks a place chance from the pole. Tips: 5 8 6 1 Suggested Bet: IN THE SPOTLIGHT (5) to win. Race 9 OTIS (5) faced the breeze and couldn’t catch Powerplay last start. He looks likely to be in for a similar trip but will give a great sight again. MR FANTASTIC (4) found the front when a 1.56.3 winner at his last start and will be hard to beat if he can maintain his barrier advantage over OTIS (5). STAMFORD (6) is the worst drawn of the three fancies but has won his last three on end and can upset the favoured two with some luck in running. BURGHLEY SHARD (1) is just a rung below the major fancies but won’t be far away from the pole. Tips: 5 4 6 1 Suggested Bet: OTIS (5) to win. Market Market
