Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on April 22, 2021April 23, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 JUMPINGJACKMAC (9) has won his last five on end, the latest an effortless 22m victory against a similar field to what he meets tonight. He has the strength to go forward at the start and he should prove too good again. BE ROCK HARD (5) has been placed in nine of his 11 race starts and can be in the money again. AUSSIE SCOOTER (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and looks a good place chance. CARABAO (2) won’t be far away if he can get past the polemarker at the start. Tips: 9 5 10 2 Suggested Bet: JUMPINGJACKMAC (9) to win. Race 2 CLASSIC CHOICE (2) has won three of his last five starts and looks the one to beat after drawing inside his main rivals. JASPERVELLABEACH (7) has led throughout at his last two starts but is capable of coming from behind if the race is run to suit. OUR SURROGATE (1) was placed behind CLASSIC CHOICE (2) three starts back and should be thereabouts from the pole. VESPA (5) was narrowly beaten by Boom Time here two starts back and can play a part with the right run in transit. Tips: 2 7 1 5 Suggested Bet: CLASSIC CHOICE (2) to win. Race 3 THEREUGO (3) hasn’t had much luck at his last two starts but he has the speed to lead tonight and should give a great sight in that role. POWERPLAY (7) disappointed last week in strong 3YO company but looks better suited against this field. LIGHTNING JOLT (5) was rewarded for his consistency with a fast-finishing victory here at his last start and is always dangerous with the right run. EXTREME PRINCE (2) has been placed at his last five starts and should be thereabouts again from his nice draw. Tips: 3 7 5 2 Suggested Bet: THEREUGO (3) to win. Race 4 VULTAN TIN (1) has ran brave 2nds after facing the breeze at his last two starts and looks extremely hard to beat from the pole tonight. IM FULL OF EXCUSES (4) has been placed at his past three starts and looks the main danger here. CHIAROSCURO (2) is drawn to trail the favourite and won’t be far away. WHOZIDEAWASTHIS (6) was an impressive winner here last week but steps up in class tonight and the draw makes his task difficult. Tips: 1 4 2 6 Suggested Bet: VULTAN TIN (1) to win. Race 5 WHATARETHEODDS (5) was an impressive winner of his first two race starts and then had no luck in the Sales Classic Final. He warmed up for this with an 11m Byford trial victory and should give a great sight. ROCK ON TOP (7) has won three of his four race starts, including a 1.55.3 win here last week and is the obvious danger. BUSHWACKED (1) led throughout here at his last start and will be prominent from the pole draw. BATTLESCARD (2) wasn’t suited last start but can play a part tonight. Tips: 5 7 1 2 Suggested Bet: WHATARETHEODDS (5) to win. Race 6 SUING YOU (2) has battled bad draws of late but did lead throughout here five starts back and should give them something to catch tonight. SOMEBEACHPARTY (6) resumed with a solid 3rd here last week and is the class mare of this field. HEAVENS SHOWGIRL (5) has won three of her four starts in the state and looks the other main winning chance. HAS NO FEAR (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and can be dangerous late. Tips: 2 6 5 10 Suggested Bet: SUING YOU (2) to win. Race 7 MY CARBON COPY (2) has disappointed when leading and being unplaced at his last two starts but drops significantly in class for this assignment and should be winning. MISTER ARDEE (1) is drawn to get a lovely run behind the favourite and looks the only danger. OUR SEQUEL (10) should settle three back on the pegs and can be placed from that position. A BOY NAMED ROSIE (3) will settle close to the lead and won’t be far away. Tips: 2 1 10 3 Suggested Bet: MY CARBON COPY (2) to win. Race 8 LAWRENCE (8) has won two of his three starts this time in with the defeat having plenty of merit. He starts from the 10m handicap but has a class advantage over his rivals and should prove hard to beat. MEDIEVAL MAN (6) worked his way to the front in a stand at Pinjarra when a comfortable last start winner and will be hard to catch if he can take up the running again. NOTA BENE DENARIO (7) was a good winner from the tapes at his first start in the state and must be respected. BETTOR PACK IT (1) looks a good place chance from the pole. Tips: 8 6 7 1 Suggested Bet: LAWRENCE (8) to win. Race 9 JACK FARTHING (1) didn’t have any luck in the Fremantle and WA Pacing Cups before going for a spell. He couldn’t make grounds in a sprint home at his return but draws the pole tonight against a weaker field and is clearly the one to beat. ROCK ME OVER (2) has been placed in eight of his past nine starts and is drawn to trail the favourite throughout. CULPEKA (8) won his last six on end before an injury-enforced layoff and has trialled extremely well for his return. RAKASINC (6) goes up in class tonight after his impressive win here. Tips: 1 2 8 6 Suggested Bet: JACK FARTHING (1) to win. Race 10 HAMPTON BANNER (7) has led throughout to record comfortable victories in quick times at his last two starts. He won’t find it as easy from out here but still appeals as the one to beat. MACHLANI (1) led when a narrow 2nd here two starts back and is the obvious danger from the pole. SHANWAY (4) had no luck at his second start in WA and looks the other winning chance. DISCO UNDER FIRE (2) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and can be in the money. Tips: 7 1 4 2 Suggested Bet: HAMPTON BANNER (7) to win. Market Market
