Matt Young’s Friday Wagin Preview Posted on July 18, 2025July 18, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 SNIPES MAGIC (9) has had a decent start to his career, has shown good staying qualities in the early part and just needs an opportunity to get into this race to be a major player. MISS MARCOPOLO (2) disappointed last run but has the speed to lead and run a forward race. TAYLORS BOY FRED (8) will get a reasonable run through and has got good closing speed, will be dangerous late in running. HOT ROD (10) has a tough draw to overcome at the distance but is showing more consistency in this type of grade. ROCKNROLL DILINGER (1) is a novelty hope from the draw. Tips: 9 8 2 10 Suggested Bet: SNIPES MAGIC (9) to win. Race 2 Open race. SPEED FORCE (4) has the speed to potentially cross and has been racing soundly, it isn’t an overly deep race and if he can find the top, he’d give them something to catch. DEKLA DIVA (2) has shown promise in the past but can be a hard horse to catch, now under the care of Jemma Collins who does a good job with her small team and must be respected on return but hard to tip given her recent form is ordinary. HUGHEY (5) is improving and should be there at the business end. ELEPHANT ROCK (8) didn’t have a great deal of luck last time out and hit the line okay, this grade suits and likely to be dangerous. DAWSON SHARD (7) had every chance last time out but races a similar grade and MOOLAH MAGNET (6) can improve second up, first up run was sound. Tips: 4 8 2 5 Suggested Bet: ELEPHANT ROCK (8) each way. Race 3 I SEE FIRE (5) did the work and was a nice win last time out, he can work forward again here and if he can get to the breeze without overdoing it I expect him to go close again. KOLISI (4) is a major player if he was at his best, hasn’t quite been there recently but there are glimpses of improvement, keep safe. Early speed battle will determine the chances of SOUNDS LIKE FUN (7) who will need some luck from there but was a solid winner last time out. OUR MUSICAL MOTION (1) has the speed to hold up but could be tested by FEELING EMPATHY (2), both are place hopes from their respective draws. THIS TIME JACKO (6) is racing well but the draw hurts his chances tonight, not sure where he gets too from there. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE (8) could get a good run through and is flying under the radar a touch. Tips: 5 4 7 8 Suggested Bet: I SEE FIRE (5) to win. Race 4 This race is a simple one and it’s a chips in type of bet. LIQUIDATOR (4) is a horse who has brilliant gate speed and is a bold front runner, when she is right, she is decent, if she is anywhere near right, I am expecting her to lead and win. JACK MANNIX (5) has elevated in recent runs for the new stable and is probably the safer option given he has the form on the board. JUST A PET (1) has the draw to improve but has yet to flatter this time in. SANFORD BART (6) hasn’t been at his best since winning 4 starts ago, this grade suits his abilities. Tips: 4 5 1 6 Suggested Bet: LIQUIDATOR (4) to win. Race 5 GOLD HORSESHOE (6) looks to push forward and comes up against one of the more suitable fields he’s faced in a while, can see him dominating from the breeze and looking the winner. RICHIE REACTOR (1) was keen to lead last time out and performed better, they may elect to go that way again from the draw. POCKETFUL OF OPALS (7) has been luckless but has a lovely draw and is ready to win, looks to be a major player in this. PRIDDAH (4) will be running on strongly. CLASSNSMART (3) is never far away and GET YA BETS ON (5) can bounce back to form but his last couple have been subpar. Tips: 6 7 1 4 Suggested Bet: POCKETFUL OF OPALS (7) each way. Race 6 SUKHOVEY WINDSTORM (7) comes into this race fresh, but his form has been against stronger, and he looks to run a bold race in his return. ASHANTI PRINCESS (1) lacks early speed and ran last in her last run but was bolting with nowhere to go, winning chance if she doesn’t settle too far back. IM GRAFTER (3) is racing well enough to play a part, likely heads forward and be handy to them. EXTINCTION (4) hasn’t had the best of luck since returning but looks set to run a big race here and DEE JAYS BIG BOY (5) is capable but last run disappointed me a fair bit, can bounce back. Tips: 7 4 3 1 Suggested Bet: SUKHOVEY WINDSTORM (7) to win. Market Market
