Scott Embry’s Saturday Bunbury Preview Posted on July 17, 2025July 17, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 VINO MISS trialled really nicely behind Free To Fly. Finished officially 2L off the winner but was under a hold and was travelling beautifully. There hasn’t been a whole lot out of that trial just yet in terms of positive ‘form’ (Pure Mac, Lady Money Talk, Saam Time Lucky) but going to trust the eye in a race with arguably too much top end speed. OURGIRLCANRUN had blinkers on in her recent trial and destroyed them. Covered the ground with ease and there’s already a winner out of her trial (Riva Aquarama). RIPPER RUPERT is jump and run. CALL NICK trialled nicely for his return albeit down the back straight. Numbers: 11 – 10 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – VINO MISS WIN RACE 2 ALLENTOWN was beaten 3.3L by TIMELESS GEM last start but with a 2kg weight swing, an extra furlong and a better barrier/map thinking that he might be able to turn the tables. Looks like Naughty Tortie and Timeless Gem will slide across from their wide draws and that allows him to park and ride just in behind the speed. He gets through the wet/choppy track conditions and should get the right run. TIMELESS GEM was crunched in late betting and did what he had to do leading and winning. This is harder under the 60. NAUGHTY TORTIE broke his maiden by nearly 5L and everything out of his maiden is being targeted in betting. STRAPPING PROPET is one of those who was beaten 5.4L behind him and then won next start by nearly 3. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – ALLENTOWN EACHWAY RACE 3 ROCK IN WONDER resumed first-up at 1400m under 59kg when leading and kicking hard before being run down by subsequent 60+ Graduation and Belmont Oaks winner in Fancy Red. Should improve off that performance and looks like leading unopposed. In for a good prep. PLANET CASH is back to somewhere near his best. He raced outside the handicap in a 72+ that was dominated from the front last start in a forgive. This is a suitable assignment for him. ON PATROL extended powerfully over the last 200m to score fresh. He’s just a hard horse to follow with his racing pattern. LINDEN’S GOLD was ‘right place, right time’ on the Heavy9 last start but it was still a strong win. Numbers: 13 – 6 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – ROCK IN WONDER EACHWAY RACE 4 DUN WITH THE BLUES looks really hard to beat. She won first-up over 1400m, was out of the contest from the 600 second-up over 1690m and then third-up raced like she needed further and that’s exactly what she gets here (plus Pike). Back in grade, wet track to suit and maps to land behind a moderate tempo. Easy to forget she was beaten only 3L in an ATA Stakes in 2023. COSMIC CHAOS put in a blinkers fresh and then a flat one second-up. SNAZZLER was on trial at the trip at Pinjarra and ran it out well. LET’SDEAL has turned into a real one paced grinding stayer. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – DUN WITH THE BLUES WIN RACE 5 ART SESSION has a set of shades on, a senior rider on and the form through his C3 held up nicely at Northam on Wednesday with Desert Dancing winning again. He was only beaten 1.5L by Repossession and has beaten Desert Whisper home this preparation. Love the 3 year olds against the older horses this time of year and happy to side up with him on the eachway. SNOW GOD resumes first-up, no trial from ~ barrier 11 (post-scratchings). His debut win was that of a very nice horse and then had excuses at his second career outing behind then undefeated colt Want A Winner. TERRATIF is a sharp mare on her day. AMAROO STAR was lost down the straight. Numbers: 4 – 12 – 11 – 2 Suggested Bet – ART SESSION EACHWAY RACE 6 MADHI GIRL was backed into favourite off the back of two really nice trials and didn’t get the right run under 60kg down the 1000m straight. She’s now down on the 54kg minimum second-up and will track an extreme speed battle. Nice set up for her. DESERT WHISPER toyed with them last week. She’s in sensational form and she’s electric out of the machine. Flopped off 10 days once, so handling the back-up is the only query. SINFUL LIVING finished third in the Beaufine first-up and has a winnable weight after the 3kg claim for Chanel Cooper. HANCHI has had a frustrating preparation but clearly has the ability to win this. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – MADHI GIRL WIN RACE 7 TOROPA stepped into Stakes Grade for the first time in her life in the Beaufine and held her own against a really progressive and exciting 3 year old in Repossession when running second. Stays on the minimum, gets out to 1200m, reunites with regular rider Brad Parnham and with no Repossession in the Bolton it really opens up for her to win her first Black Type race. GEMMA’S SON is a big improver at odds parking and riding the speed around the bend. ROCKIN’ RUPERT was matching motors with The Boss Lady early last prep. WIND AND THE LION is hard to line-up coming back in distance off 3 weeks. Numbers: 9 – 4 – 8 – 10 Suggested Bet – TOROPA WIN RACE 8 BORDER FORCE is the kind of horse who keeps getting better and better deeper into his preparations. He can park on speed and tough it out or he can sit midfield and show a turn of foot. Versatile animal who can be ridden to track conditions late in the day. Ready to win and this should be $5+ the field. CLIMB ON TOP is a consistent type who is always around the mark in this Graduation/0MWLY/Westspeed type grade. He’ll again be attacking the line late. HOUSEWIFE was the beneficiary of a 10/10 ride from Chanel Cooper last start and is dangerous here with only 53kg on her back. UNCLE GERARD loomed large until he saw the winning post last week. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 10 – 11 Suggested Bet – BORDER FORCE EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 4,11,12 1,4,5,8 9 2,3,6,7,9,10,11,12 Market Market
