Matt Young’s Saturday Bunbury Preview Posted on July 18, 2025July 18, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 AMERICAN TYPHOON (1) creates interest, her form line isn’t that strong but has made the stable change and was sound in a recent trial, well worth watching the market but she should be handy enough to show improvement. DUNCAN TWENTYTWO (8) hasn’t had a great deal of luck and expect him to be no worse than 3 back the pegs and can play a part if the gaps open. CAMEL PLUS (6) is getting closer to breaking through and could head forward at the start. WRITE RITE RIGHT (7) has had a few opportunities but will be there when the whips are cracking again. FLOAT MY BOAT (11) is ready to win but faces a challenging draw. BOOM IT UP (9) novelty chance, grade suits and can improve back to better form. Tips: 8 11 1 7 Suggested Bet: DUNCAN TWENTYTWO (8) each way. Race 2 BLOCKJORG (6) looks well placed in this grade, with her early speed I can see her charging to the top and over the mile she ticks a lot of boxes. FOLLOW MY STRIDE (4) was solid last time out, she’s now third up into the prep and it’s not a quick front line underneath so can see her crossing down and potentially getting the run of the race and being a solid place chance. IDEALINCIDER (1) has the nice draw, early speed can be a bit hit and miss but either way by virtue of the draw should get a good run and be a novelty player. MISS STEFANI (12) has a good amount of ability but 12 over the mile and first up is concerning. GEARSINAWHIRL (8) is a novelty chance at odds and DISPATCHER (9) is racing well and can run on strongly from the back row draw. Tips: 6 4 1 12 Suggested Bet: BLOCKJORG (6) to win. Race 3 DOUSEEME (12) is racing in good form and there looks to be enough early speed and suitable sectionals to really bring her into the race, be very dangerous late. SKIPPIN CLASS (3) I thought could cross early and then has options from there, could run a cheeky race. SWITCH BLADE (1) drawn to get a decent run but looks more of a novelty player with SPIRITOFANANGLE (2) but as we know, she walks out the mobile. TA IN ADVANCE (8) is a strong place chance if he gets the gaps at the right time. TARTAN ROBYN (6) faces a tricky draw but is racing soundly. WELEASE WODDEWICK (7) has yet to fire this time in and realistically the same can be said for ARTFUL MAJOR (11) but both are capable of improvement. BONNE AMOUR (9) and FLYIN DISCO (10) not the worst. Tips: 12 3 8 6 Suggested Bet: SKIPPIN CLASS (3) each way. Race 4 WISHING BELLE (7) was the most dominant filly last time in and returns from a wide draw, expecting her to come back an even better version of herself and she looks hard to beat but it won’t be easy from the draw. She had some good battles with MA PETITE DAME (3) who has the fitness edge and has the draw advantage, expecting a sharp improvement off the back of her returning 8th last time out. TRIXIE DORA (6) was very good two starts ago and won well on Monday at Pinjarra, this is a good test for her, but she is progressive. EL RAES GIRL (1) has good ability and has the nice draw to be prominent and if they overdo it, I don’t expect her to be too far away. LIVY ANN (2) is fitter but place chances best in this grade. PERFECT MIKI (4) has shown promise and must be respected from the stable. Tips: 7 3 6 1 Suggested Bet: WISHING BELLE (7) to win. Race 5 FEAR THE STORM (2) has the good draw and with a run under his belt he can show his best, he commenced well last time out so there is no concern on him getting to the top and he has options with his high speed, go close. TOBY GEORGE (9) is a nice type who returns off the back row, he has good staying qualities and high speed to boot, will run a good race. BUTTER ME UP (8) just needs the breaks at the right time but likely to be finishing strongly. CEASE TO REACT (12) faces an uphill battle from the draw against this class but he has grit. STRONG THE STRIKER (10) has some traffic to overcome but looks to have good ability. Respect the De Campo contingent but they all have awkward draws in this. Tips: 2 9 8 10 Suggested Bet: FEAR THE STORM (2) to win. Race 6 TANTABIDDI (6) should be sailing across to the top at the start and looks to be very hard to beat, if it were a mile I would declare him to lead and win but at the middle distance there is that little bit of doubt creeping in, but his form is good and this looks suitable. JIMMY ROCKS (5) is racing well and is versatile, should run a bold race. CEE DEE THREE (4) is a nice horse on return, interested to see where he will settle early but has an abundance of high speed. MAJIC BAY (1) follows speed well and has the draw to be prominent and come into place contention. ONESMARTFELLA (11) and MAJOR JAY (10) have tricky draws to overcome but can feature into the novelties. Tips: 6 4 5 1 Suggested Bet: TANTABIDDI (6) to win. Race 7 LAZI DAIS (7) has just impressed at every showing this time in and is showing strength in all aspects of racing which holds him in good stead to overcome the draw here. TROUBADOUR (1) looks a nice type and has the draw, good test to see his class here. BULL SHARK BETTY (2) will get the run of the race, and her closing speed keeps her right in the hunt in this. ICE COLD SAPPORO (3) returns and is a nice horse, but this is a deep race on return. MAJOR DISCO (5) always a place chance and although PINJARRA ROCKS (4) and JAXS IDEAL (6) have talent this race looks difficult for them. Tips: 7 1 2 3 Suggested Bet: LAZI DAIS/TROUBADOUR/BULL SHARK BETTY box trifecta. Race 8 MISS KNOWALL (6) hit the line strongly last time out and she is starting to hold good consistency, bit of speed on in the early stages and think she can hit the line well here. ASHIMA (2) has the nice draw and races well on speed, each way in this. GO HOME JO (8) comes in fresh but should be running on. SUGAR BOO (5) won well last time out and can keep moving forward in the preparation. SATAN PRINCESS (1) is a place hope if she can hold as best a forward position as she can. Tips: 6 2 5 8 Suggested Bet: MISS KNOWALL (6) to win. Market Market
