The Scout: Women’s World Cup Matchday 20

Quarter Finals (1)

Spain v Netherlands

Spain recovered from a bad loss to Japan in the final group game to thump Switzerland 5-1 in the last 16. Aitana Bonmati scored twice in that game and will continue to be a threat from midfield. Defender Ivana Andres could return having missed the last two fixtures through injury, while Catalina Coll should continue in goal having replaced Misa Rodriguez last time out.

Jill Roord has been a standout performer at the World Cup and with four goals to her name, but the Netherlands will be without Danielle van de Donk who is serving a one-match suspension. Defender Merel van Dongen suffered an ankle injury in training and is unlikely to play.

Spain to win @ $1.81*

Japan v Sweden

Japan have played some of the best football of the tournament and cruised past Norway in the last round. Hinata Miyazawa leads the race for the Golden Boot with five goals and will start up front in what is likely to be an unchanged line up. A solid defence has conceded just once so far.

Sweden knocked out the defending champions on penalties but had to play 120 minutes of football in the process. Goalkeeper Zecira Musovic made 11 saves to preserve a clean sheet and she will be crucial against an exciting Japanese attack. Fridolina Rolfo is their biggest goal threat and has netted three times at the World Cup.

Japan to win @ $2.23*
