The Scout: Champions League Quarter-Finals Posted on April 9, 2019April 11, 2019 | Posted by The Scout Liverpool vs FC Porto 10th April, 3am WST Once again Liverpool and Porto meet in the knockout stage of the Champions League, a matchup won comfortably by Liverpool last year. This time the fixture starts at Anfield with both sides in good form – both 2nd in their domestic leagues, Liverpool one point behind Manchester City, Porto goal difference behind Benfica. Liverpool would have been delighted when this matchup was announced, after blasting their way to a 5-0 aggregate win against Porto in the Round of 16 last year. It remains to seen though, just how much weight the pressure of title expectations in the Premier League will affect this squad. The atmosphere will be electric at Anfield and we should see plenty of chances for the men in red. Expect the attacking trio of Salah, Firmino and Mane to be too much for the visitors. Suggested Bet: Liverpool -1.5 @ $1.78* Tottenham vs Manchester City 10th April, 3am WST Two Premier League sides at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – the atmosphere for this game will be amazing! Manchester City are in a unique spot, they’re currently in pole position for the Premier League title and have also advanced to the FA Cup Final after last weekend’s 1-0 win over Brighton. Tottenham have been disappointing of late with three losses and a draw in their last five Premier League matches. Manchester City have won the last three matches between these two sides, and with their team at close to full strength, it’s hard to not to like the price on offer. City are one of the best teams in Europe and have a clear class advantage here. If they’re not the best, they’re certainly the deepest roster in all of football, and they should have too many weapons in this one. Suggested Bet: Match Result Manchester City @ $1.85* Manchester United vs Barcelona 11th April, 3am WST It doesn’t get any easier for Manchester United. An incredible 3-1 away win over PSG secured their spot in the quarter-final, their reward – an in-form Barcelona. The Champions League is the one remaining chance United have for silverware in the 2018/19 season. If the Red Devils are to advance, they have to make a stand at Old Trafford, and the best way to do that is to keep Lionel Messi under control, something no team has been able to do so far this tournament. Barcelona are in great form. They’re undefeated to this point of the tournament, and have what should be an insurmountable lead atop the Spanish La Liga. They’ve scored 18 goals in their last five Champions League matches, with nine of those belonging to Messi. Although I like Barcelona to ultimately advance, Manchester United have been a revelation under Ole Solskjaer and are a good chance at the odds to surprise their more fancied opponents. Suggested Bet: Draw No Bet Manchester United @ $2.60* Ajax vs Juventus 11th April, 3am WST Nothing to lose. That will be the attitude of Ajax after securing their spot with a miraculous 4-1 away win over Real Madrid. Cristiano Ronaldo has been passed fit to play, and will be looking to carry on the form that saw him single-handedly eliminate Atletico Madrid with a hat trick in the second leg. The Italian giants have class all over the pitch, but as he often does, the Portuguese superstar looms as the difference maker. Ajax play great team football and the home crowd will be a big plus, but with the leading scorer in Champions League history at the helm, Juventus should prove too strong. Suggested Bet: Match Result Juventus @ $2.22* *Odds correct as at 1pm WST 9th April 2019. Market Market
