Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on April 28, 2026April 28, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 Tricky race. JUST A PONY (3) showed some promise last time in and could run well fresh in this and happy to play it that way after some sound trials. LIL MISS DELIGHT (1) hasn’t excited too much with recent trial form but has the draw and must be respected as a chance at the trip. WANDERIN STAR (6) is second up and could be an improver, likely to head forward in this. MARGIMAC (10) was sound on return and is drawn to get a similar run in this. CHEVRONS GOLD (12) will be running on and PAPPINBARRA LADY (8) and QUEEN OF ALL (9) will find it difficult from their respective draws. Tips: 3 1 10 6 Suggested Bet: JUST A PONY (3) each way. Race 2 CIGANDA (6) is a quick beginner who comes in fresh but should bounce potentially on the lead and give them something to catch, she is consistent without winning, go close here. KINSAABI (12) did his fair share in his most recent run and will look to move into it at some stage, should run a bold race. SVENN (10) has another tricky draw to work with but is a major player with even luck. LEEROY ROX (3) has the speed to get forward and be handy in the run and on form looks a novelty chance with DANGER (1), SOUTHERN ROCK (4), LETS RATTLNROLL (5) and STRIKING A DEAL (8). Tips: 6 12 10 3 Suggested Bet: CIGANDA (6) each way. Race 3 MANUKA BAY (4) has the draw advantage this week and looks the winner after a bold second on debut, has the speed to lead and should go the distance. METHUSELAH (5) will have to do the work outside the likely leader and will strip fitter but faces an intriguing test. SHERICKA (1) is a decent follower of speed and strips fitter, could be placed in this at odds. SLAY QUEEN (6) and CINCH (7) both capable but drawn awkwardly and unlikely to be able to get forward early. EL RAES GIRL (9) has been luckless, and this draw isn’t making it any easier and IN FULL FLIGHT (11) trialled well and will run on. Tips: 4 5 1 11 Suggested Bet: MANUKA BAY (4) to win. Race 4 Bit of speed early but LUCKY COPY (4) looks the likely leader, and she comes in fresh here but can be a bit up and down with her form, best is good enough to win this. DUNKALLEDY (7) drops in grade and strips fitter and expecting a strong run from him. BLITZAR (12) is racing well and will be forgotten a bit in this and can be placed. FABULOUS DREAM (8) is a nice type on return but might need the run from the draw. AMERICAN TYPHOON (1) has early speed and could be placed but may have an early challenger in STIRUP IRON JACK (2). Tips: 7 4 12 8 Suggested Bet: BLITZAR (12) to place. Race 5 RUMBLE STRIP (8) is a talent, expecting him to win plenty of races this time in and looks hard to hold out in this. ULTIMATE MIKI (4) has the draw advantage and creates interest first up in the state with the powerful Hall Snr stable, watch the market. SHES A TINY DANCER (1) comes in fresh but was good last time in and has the nice draw, novelty chance with CHARIVARI (3) who may need the run. HOLD THE AMMO (6) and CAPTAIN BLIGH (9) both capable but not at their best currently. Tips: 8 4 1 3 Suggested Bet: RUMBLE STRIP (8) to win. Race 6 CRUNCH THE NUMBERS (7) should gain plenty from the trial leading into this and has plenty of upside, looks a genuine chance even from a tricky draw. BONSTAR (1) can run a bold race, big winning chance if she can lead but there are quick beginners to her outside including AMARETTO ANGEL (2) who was better last time out and EASTON QUALITY (3) can be zippy early. VISITING HOURS (5) will cuddle up and run home well. SMOKEYS SHADOW (10) not racing well but always capable of a novelty chance. Tips: 7 1 5 2 Suggested Bet: CRUNCH THE NUMBERS (7) to win. Race 7 LUKES MISTAKE (2) could bounce on the lead here and is a good front running type in an open race, looks to run out the distance and keep it honest, will be hard to catch. BY ROYAL COMMAND (9) was getting quite fizzy last time in but form when doing it right was first class, stands could be a good option for him going forward and expecting to run well in this. BET ON THE RIVER (7) is a solid standing start performer and can forgive his last run, expecting him to step well and be handy. EN PARIANT SUR (4) normally steps well and can be involved in your novelty plays. INTO THE FUTURE (8) is capable but is first up today and first go at the tapes, happy to watch him in this run. THOMSON BAY (12) faces a challenging handicap. Tips: 2 9 7 4 Suggested Bet: LUKES MISTAKE (2) each way. Race 8 MYSTERY FRED (5) looks a nice type and has the draw advantage, better equipped record wise from the mobile and looks hard to beat if he can keep the advantage on ALDEBARAN BOYD (6) who is racing in bold form, expecting him to be prominent again and dangerous. MRIYA DREAM (4) is racing nicely and is to be respected as a novelty player in this. CHUMANI (7) faces a tricky draw but is racing soundly and PATCHED (8) is going just soundly to his standards but will appreciate being level pegging with his main dangers. Tips: 5 6 4 7 Suggested Bet: MYSTERY FRED (5) to win. Race 9 PHILTHEJUG (2) returns and has the good draw to be on the speed and looks the potential leader and should run well, could be short enough and happy to look elsewhere in this if she is too short. TIMES TICKIN (7) normally races well fresh for the new camps when he gets there so I am expecting a spike in his form initially, go well in this. FIREBALL FRIDAY (1) has some early speed and holds the key to a race in a way. ICANPLAY (3) is going just okay but drawn in close and could improve in this lineup with CARMELA DOMENICA (5) who was sound looking for a run on return, respect here. CRACKA TINNY (8) and SUNPATRA (9) capable in this but the draws take away a lot from them. Tips: 2 7 5 3 Suggested Bet: TIMES TICKIN (7) each way. Market Market
