Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on April 9, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 WAKAN TANKA was disappointing first-up down the straight but improved sharply round the bend second-up. That should prove the strongest form and while confidence is limited with a 14 start maiden he looks the logical winner. MEGACHINO is a hard horse to gauge. Massive animal who does a lot wrong but has undeniable ability. ASCOT GOLD has been trialing well for return. MUMSTHEONE will pick one up and was good enough last start. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – WAKAN TANKA WIN Race 2 REBOW won’t get a better chance all preparation than fresh and drawn the inside. His two trials have been very soft and he has the necessary speed to lead. Couldn’t trust him with Australian Dollars but he looks hard to beat here. STAROF BONNIE ROSE won well last start after a reasonable performance on debut. Chloe Azzopardi looks likely to quickly shake her 3kg claim and this is as weak a Class 1 as you’ll see. LITTLE RED ROMAN is rarely far from the action. THE GOBLIN GLIDER can improve sharply at odds. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – REBOW WIN Race 3 MAGICAL CHARGE looks to have found a nice race fresh. This has a lot more depth than the previous but Azzopardi showed at her return to the track last week that she is happy to let them roll. If she allows this filly to run they’ll struggle to run her down. COCKATIEL is a nice filly resuming. Ran some big races last preparation. RIBBON OF GOLD was given a 12/10 by Pike last start and was impressive. ROSEBUSH is one worth following but clearly is struggling for soundness, scratched twice and bars on. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – MAGICAL CHARGE WIN Race 4 ROUTE EIGHTY EIGHT returned to the races in fine style nearly running down My Demi in a strong C3 race. With even luck from the middle of the line Lucy Warwick can track up behind the leaders and go close. LORD GREYSTOKE is big awkward 3 year old resuming. Seems to grow a leg when finding the fence, interesting to see if Parnham tries to cross Stirling Estate. DISCO RIFFIC is a capable mare returning who has competed in tougher than this. STIRLING ESTATE has been going well enough all prep to run a cheeky race. Numbers: 8 – 7 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – ROUTE EIGHTY EIGHT WIN Race 5 EARLY EXPLORER really hit his straps late in the race at his second career outing and was hard not the be impressed. Eye catching run late. Will need luck and could be in traffic as he looks a natural swooping type but in an evenly graded race can win. ROCK MY COUNTRY has really improved into the preparation. Needs luck from the draw. JESTER NOIR was not disgraced in a fast run race behind Sophie’s Song last start. LEADING MAN is a nice animal but could be in a traffic jam for a 3kg claimer. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – EARLY EXPLORER EACHWAY Race 6 EL MY PAGO was as good a 4th as you will see last week. Found traffic at every possible spot in running and charged through the line under a hold. Off 7 days Staeck will put her into the race and she should salute. STORM DANCER is more than capable of causing the upset. Race form is exclusively in tougher than this and fresh, drawn inside can run a big race for a new stable. PERCEPTIVE MISS was well supported at all starts last preparation. Can bounce back. TOGETHER WE DREAM takes care of the speed. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 11 – 7 Suggested Bet – BEL MY PAGO WIN Race 7 JENABEL is ready to win one and the Ash Maley stable is flying. Effort two starts ago was eye catching flashing late and then last start was never in the race in a high quality 64+. She’s worth a spec at odds. YEAH BRAVO finally broke through last start and can go on with it. KELLY’S CALLISTO has been well below par last two starts. He’s better than that. FLOWER OF SCOTLAND wobbles badly round the bend. Rail out should help. Numbers: 8 – 4 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – JENABEL EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,7,8,9 1,3,4,5,8 1,5 2,4,5,8 Market Market
