Glenn Ingram’s Saturday Bendigo Preview Posted on April 30, 2026April 30, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram RACE 1 Indicative of the day, tough! Big field, many chances. 5 & 11 go forward, should be a genuine speed. Form ties in around the key chances. Expecting a positive ride on HOUDINI to punch forward and slot in behind the speed, a grinding win over 2100m last start, extra 100m seems within his scope. SO SUAVE was game in defeat in the same race, they spaced 3rd. If a true staying test then STEEL RUN comes into play, freshened & back in trip, map is tricky. HOUSE OF LORDS is bred for this extra trip. Selections: 6,12,2,7 Selections: Exotics RACE 2 THE SPEED MACHINE is again well-placed looking to complete the hat-trick and remain unbeaten, profiles as the likely leader with DIVINE DOT who needs to come across from the wide draw. MARFFIANO was the pick of the debutants from the jumpouts, a well-related half to stablemate Tycoon Star. Should be doing best work late. KNURL is small limited but tries hard. Selections: 2,6,10,1 Suggested Bet: THE SPEED MACHINE win RACE 3 ROSA AOTEAROA is on the rise for Reece Goodwin and again the horse to beat, gate speed to cross and land at the leaders girth which should be PREVAILED. He’s jumped out well between runs and will take beating off the front. NEARING LIBERTY is resuming and a good fresh horse, doesn’t always attack the line but puts himself there and the race sets up ok. DAMAS has opted for this over the ‘Bool, he’s racing super but may have found his level. Selections: 13,11,7,9 Suggested Bet: ROSA AOTEAROA win RACE 4 Some speed on with 2 & 5 going forward. OAK BEACH returned in good form at the jumpouts leading in and out-ran her SP at Sandown with a positive early ride and stuck on. The enigmatic SEAFALL enjoyed the gun run to win at Mornington, liked her trial leading in, any race would help her chances. ZAIN BLUE is a key speed influence, needs to improve on first-up effort and is open to further. OTAGO is in the mix, take on trust. Selections: 14,6,5,8 Suggested Bet: OAK BEACH win RACE 5 SISTER SHAY injects the speed in the race, she will give a sight. LADY JONES get a perfect trail in behind from the low draw and has no doubt been set for this race having won it previously. She can improve sharply on Saturday and is the one to beat. Like the set-up for ROLL ON HIGH resuming but generally improves with a run. MERRIGOLD is clearly a winning hope on the quick back-up, needs it to remain dry. Selections: 6,9,7,2 Suggested Bet: LADY JONES win RACE 6 DUCHESS ZOU had every possible chance at Mornington when heavily-backed, again finds another winnable race and arguably gets the best run on the speed map. KING TUT is racing well and found the line strongly first-up, should be at peak fitness now. XARPO is hard to knock, on a moderate tempo from the low draw she is easy to like. RAIKOKE and QUISEEN both have wider chances. Selections: 10,11,14,12 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 7 Fast tempo expected. This is a good race for YES YOSHI coming out of a hot stable and freshened after winning at Caulfield in February. Always carried a spruik and if he can improve his race manners and put it all together, he’s the one to beat. NAVY PILOT has jumped out in the manner of a horse who can win first-up, he will benefit from the fast tempo and launch from the back. CHOIR POINT and STREET ARTIST both progressive types, the latter should improve on his fresh effort. Selections: 15,1,9,12 Suggested Bets: YES YOSHI & NAVY PILOT RACE 8 Hardest race of the day. Many chances. GOALD COAST BELLE is progressive, she did have the race fall into her lap when the money was on last start, this will test her. THE VOLTA will be hoping they can run on as the race sets up ok if it is an even surface. TRAPDOOR will drop out and charge home. BACASH & JETT SMASH are fit and in-form. CHERISH ME can improve second-up. Good luck finding the winner. Selections: 7,15,6,9 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 9 Good race. WONDER BOY beat moderate opposition when smashed in betting on his home track. Had been racing well prior and can take confidence from the win into what should be a fast race up in grade suiting his pattern. HUGHES ran a career-best winning at Caulfield in fast time, given time to get over that firm track and doesn’t need to improve to be winning again. ZAHRANN is a huge watch first-up in Australia for the Ciaron Maher stable, hard to line up his form but lightly-raced and could surprise. HOLYMANZ draws well if good enough. Selections: 11,5,3,4 Suggested Bet: WONDER BOY win RACE 10 STOLLI BOLLI has a questionable will to win, however, he is very well-placed with the way this race will set up for him, balancing up from the draw he gets a strong tempo to finish over the top. BALASTIER is a tough, on-speed galloper and freshened after a strong win at Sandown first-up, back to the trials since, at 1100m he will take beating again. YOU’RE TWO VAIN chased him home at Sandown and deserves respect. HEARCOMESTHESTAR goes well fresh, any softening of the track conditions would help. Selections: 7,10,12,6 Suggested Bet: STOLLI BOLLI win Market Market
